Generally fine. TV broke while we there. It was replaced on the last day. Parking cost was high. Resort fee was charged whether you used it or not. Pool was average. Probably wouldn't book there the next time.

The location was beautiful, and the hotel was mostly good! We got free uke lessons, and lei classes. However the pool and hot tub was broken all 9 days. As well as the fire show was cancelled. After asking to get a reduction in the resort fee, since a lot of the resort options were closed, they rudely said no. Would probably stay here again after renovations are done.

Kelsey at the hotel restaurant bar was amazing!! Give that woman a raise, above and beyond service. Hotel should repair lost tiles on pool and spa needs additional cleaning to prevent white foam from oils

Great location! Great beach for kids and adults. Service okay. 2 small pools with cloudy water. Definitely need some cosmetic renovation If you buying breakfast option - don't expect something extra, Standart continental. Everything for extra pay. But you can have free coffee at reception and ask for beach blanket.

Hotel is in a good location and dated but kpt nice. Do not stay if you intend on doing work. 5kbps wifi and minimal cellular service make cell phone and computer work spoty and very frustrating. No out going mail service. Room has view but no deck or windows that open. Basic breakfast is $28 buffet only so no less expensive light eating options. There are casual lunch and dinner options with pizza, salads and grilled sandwiches and tacos. Cocktail drinks are syrupy and rightfully cheap.

Had to pay $25 per day to park your car plus bogus $25 per day resort fee ( very few resort fee benefits - coffee, some hula lesson and one day 2 hour bike rental - no other benefits for daily fee) The hotel is in a nice location overlooking state park and Kauai coast line

I liked the convience of the tiki hut and the food was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was not clean. Hair and dirt was still in the bathroom and our ac condensation line was leaking. The carpet around the unit was wet and there was black mold in the carpet surrounding the unit.

The location was great as it was close to the beach, Kapa'a, shopping, and restaurants. But the room facility was in pretty bad shape. The pillows have a terrible smell like they haven't been washed for months or years, and they are super sloppy. We've killed two cockroaches in the room within a week. The towels also have a foul smell. Won't be returning.

My room was never cleaned our entire stay. No hot water for hours. Dryer not working. Window cleaner poured dirty water into the window and destroyed my clothes. There was a flying pest in the room. The room was filthy and equipment rusted. No one answered the phone. This is a very dangerous place to stay.

In short : avoid this place. Why? Read below: - be prepared for almost everything to be priced in : a 25$ per night resort fee, a 25$ per night parking fee. - you have plenty of cockroaches as room mates, especially ones that are breeding - things are rusted (bathroom fittings) and broken (bath hooks) - the carpets are terribly unclean and stained. - it appears staff are usually used to endless complaints and have switched off. At checkout I wasn’t asked if I enjoyed my stay. When I prompted the lady saying there were cockroaches in my room, she shrugged and said she has plenty at her place. - I could sense a deep resentment on the faces of the staff - I assume there are being overworked and underpaid. There is a lack of togetherness and hospitality in general. The only positive thing is the access to the beach. But there are plenty of other hotels that give this to you. Go there.

Ants and swarming termites all over. Dirty. Didn't clean room but every few days. Complaints and nobody cared. Outlets in bathroom didn't work, hidden fees, coffee pot didn't work. Horrible bug problem.

The staff were wonderful and very friendly, the room was clean, but the pictures in the adds were deceiving, as it looks like rooms have a patio. They DO NOT. They have a sliding window that opens up to the sea breeze, with a big black metal frame right in the middle of your sight line if you’re sitting down looking out. The only rooms with patio is the ground floor.

I booked ocean views Jr.Sweet with Lanai room When we got there they put us in the handicap accessible dark corner room with lanai which vegetation grew all over hard to access and air conditioner bent right on the side that putting lots of heat and noise no way it was not useable lanai and no ocean view nor no view at all. And refrigerator was broken the maintenance guy came to fix but couldn’t so they brought another one to replace . What a way to start vacation So we complain there were no room available even we booked 3 month ago . But they said we can move next day. So we did New room was super perfect gourgous ocean view lanai we ate at lanai every night and enjoyed beautiful view. All the staff were very sweet and nice . Ashley and Carl were super great . Hotel needs little love and care it’s outdated there were wear and tears but the hotel were right next to state park so beautiful veiw. And the beach there were super beautiful and lots of fish great beginner snorkeling spot Oh there were 2 hour complementary bike rental but we found out we have to go to 2&1/2 mile away to rent them . We thought that was stupid we wanted to ride this gourgous state park right next to us but it was too far to go rent it. Also juccuze were cold when we got there for 2 days then next time we saw was broken sign so we couldn’t use it at all for lest of stay that was disappointed . It’s not name of Hilton standard but if I can stay that same room I would come back to this hotel again

Our room had carpet and it was wet when we checked in. It was the only place we stayed in Kauai that was soooo damp inside that our swimming suits wouldn’t dry. Beach there is ok. Can only swim in the enclosed area . It was fine for a one night as we moved around the island. Parking is 25 per day

My only complaint is that the latches on the doors are tight enough that when leaving the room one needs to pull the door closed so hard that it makes a lot of noise. In the morning and at night it sounds like everyone is slamming their doors.

AC loud and poorly configured with loud fan blowing on bed area. Doors closing loudly Shower narrow without safe bath matts...surface dangerously slippery!!!! No in room safe TV out dates NOT SMART. Multiple apps (netflix etc) listed but not available because TV not internet capable. You should fix that. Even a small fee for internet access to entertainment apps would be rewarded. Dining staff sparse. One or two wait staff cannot do it all. Hire some bussers,etc.Some of the wait staff surly but I can understand their frustration due to not much help. Housekeeping staff very good and curteous!! Front desk /-.

Bree was excellant when I called to inform the hotel that we missed our flight and would be a day late. She was also very helpful on check-in the following day. The food at the Grille and Tiki Bar was excellant. Staff in general was very friendly and helpful. The staff did an excellant job of making us feel safe, during the tsunami warnings. The Grille staff did an excellant job of adapting and being able to provide food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room I reserved was taken from us. We were apparently given an “upgrade” from the staff. The two bed , ocean view, was sold out. We received a cottage with one bed, and a sofa couch, with no ocean view. Only a view of a playground was outside our room. I had no desire to share a bed with a work associate that I was traveling with. When I asked the desk for room with two beds they said they were sold out . The staff told me that I had a sofa couch if I needed a second bed . The sofa couch was the thing nightmares are made of . It was full of potatoe chip crumbs and gum wrappers. The thin mat with the bar in the middle of the bed, gave me a night of painful sleep that I’ll never forget. The only compensation the hotel would offer was a free night of parking . At $400 a night , the last thing on my mind was the $25 parking fee. Hardly a compensation whatsoever. The staff was hardly helpful , and argumentative at my voicing my displeasure. The tiki bar was also a place to remember . We seated ourselves . I notified toe waitress where we were going to be sitting . She gave us two menus , and never paid mind to us again. We waited 15-20 minutes , and she never came to our table. She made eye contact and saw us waiting, but simply tefused to come to our table . Either too busy , or simply did not care . We ended up leaving to drive to another restaurant for service . Steer clear of the place . It is eye catching from the outside . However the staff is less than hospitable.

We stayed here last week and the staff is very friendly. In the 6 nights we stayed we only had housekeeping come the second day. On the 4th day we had to call in the evening for towels and coffee and they never came again. We were told we’d have service every other day. Also the air conditioning the wall was either freezing no matter what we set it at or we had to turn it off and it was hot. The toilet kept running water and we had take the tank lid off to fix the chain on the stopper consistently. The pools were not very clean and the two times we ate there the food was terrible. I got really sick the second time. Parking was $25/night on top of the $25/day resort fee. The convenience of the beach is gorgeous, the staff was very nice and friendly. Overall I would not stay here again. I expected more from a Hilton property in Hawaii.

Everything was fine until we were locked out of our bathroom because the door stop pushes the lock button and the door becomes secured. It took almost 2 hours for us to get assistance from the hotel. I called at 1157pm and didn’t get help till after 1:30am. I called three times and the last call the agent answered and said he’s on the way and hung up. When security responded he arrived with a flash light, looked at the door and I asked if we had a Bobby pin, which I didn’t and he had to leave to look for a key. It was almost 2am when we got access to our bathroom. I reported this incident with the front desk and she laughed.

I've stayed in Hilton properties in different places. South Padre Island, Hilton Anatole Dallas, TX, and even in Hilton properties in Big Island and Oahu. That said, by far this Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay, HI does not represent Hilton Properties standards in my opinion. I stayed from 2 June to 10 June 2025. Dirty room - 2120. Check the HVAC return and bathroom exhoust fan - dirt is so vissible like the accumulated dirt in a ceiling fan, stains on showers and pee stains on toilets, smelly bed, sheets, and pillow cases, hair stuck on sink drain, insects crawling on the floor especially the bathroom and on top of the sink, band aid floating on the pool... and the lists goes on. And these are all on the first day we checked in. I understand it was built decades ago, however, cleanliness of room(s) should not fall below the waist side. Regardless of the year a property was built. Staffs. I've meet staffs that are so committed in their work. Like Mr. Kurt and Mrs. Sena. While the others it is just another day. In on case, I ask for pillow cases, and it felt like I was asking too much. The facial expressions and body language says it all. Event Calendar does not mirror the schedule on paper. There was supposed to be a scheduled ceremonial in the morning, but you guess it, did not happned. However, the lady that taught Lei making...she's awesome. Take it for what its worth. However, the location of the property is 5 Stars. From shoppping to dinning, and places to visit.

Great home base to head north or south for enjoying/exploring beautiful Kauai. A hard time with a staff member who was very annoyed with my questions—I get it; I’m sure inquiries get old— but overall good experience. Close to a water treatment plant of some kind so sometimes it smelled gross when down wind. :/. Walking distance to Lydgate which has some great swimming areas for children.

The staff was friendly, our room was nice but there a was a sewage smell across the whole property. It is located close to a treatment plant. We sat at the main restaurant and they could not fix a blended drink as they had no blender. The whole property lost power and we did not have internet or tv for our stay.

It was very rainy while on property, but the facility still had plenty of areas to hang out that were covered. All of the staff was very nice and the property was well maintained. However, the food seemed pricey (yes, I realize this is Hawaii). A cup of coffee at breakfast was $6; we ate off property to save some money.

Hilton Garden Inn is about a mile or more away from restaurants/shopping. Their own main dining room is only open Wednesday to Sunday, and they decided on Thursday morning not to open that night. The only other option on the property is a tiki bar by the pool - open 12-9. There are probably a dozen choices on the menu. The main dining room is open for breakfast every morning. Other advertised activities kept getting canceled. There are signs all over the property about a Tuesday night fire show. Nope, they don’t do it anymore. Lei making on Tuesday and Friday! Nope, only on Friday. Etcetera and so forth.
