The hotel sits on a hill, so the views from the rooms are fantastic. There’s even a shortcut to Nabetahama Beach, which makes getting to the sea super easy. The pool is brand new and really impressive. The staff were very friendly, and our kids had an amazing time.

Bedrooms were spacious. The decor was a little tired but not too perfect for family occupation! Service was good; the staff made every effort to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent- it had lots of choice. Situation was good with views and access to a safe bay. It would have been nice to have longer hours than 9 to 5 at the pool.

We did not know the pool would be closed. We booked the property thinking we could use the pool. In our process to book the hotel though Expedia, we selected the breakfast buffet. When the final booking went through, it did but show up on the confirmation email. We asked at the hotel and they had no record of it either. It could be an error on my part, but I remember clicking the option for the breakfast buffet and there were 2 people confirmed for it, even though we had 3 adults, so that stood out in my memory. Other than that the property was very nice, excellent onsen, and view. I wish I would have known about the fee for an onsen each day.

客室自体は広さもあってベッドも丁度良い感じでしたが、ハウスキーピングがイマイチ・・・２泊して二日目は午前中部屋でゆっくりして午後から外出しました。出掛ける際にフロントにタオルの交換とアメニティの補充だけお願いして外出したのですが、帰ってきたらタオルが洗面台の濡れたボディタオルの上に無造作に置いてありました。ミネラルウォーターや歯ブラシ等の補充もありませんでした。ビジネスホテルより上のサービスを期待していたのでちょっと残念でした。

Loved this hotel. It’s in a stunning setting that feels secluded in a beautiful bay but was just over a small hill to the city. Modern and friendly with an almost 1950s-60s resort vibe to it which we really enjoyed. The pool was excellent with vibrant well-appointed gardens surrounding the whole property. Great place to explore from, with paths, beaches and coastal walks and an easy 10-15min stroll into the town. Hiring a bike would have been a good option too. We extended our stay from 2 to 4 days after falling in love with the hotel. The restaurant was good. Recommend a meal there in the evening, there was some really good local fare, and the breakfast was a fabulous buffet with lots of options. Lots of staff who were all friendly and attentive.

チェックイン前のポーターさんからすでに非常に感じがよく、気分良く宿泊の開始ができました。チェックインの対応レセプションもとても感じがよく、立った１泊ですが、レストランの対応時、電話での対応時のすべてにおいて、スタッフの方々のレベルが統一されておりとても心地よく感じました。宿泊者もスタッフの方もいろいろな国籍の方とお見受けしましたが、とても気分の良い滞在をさせていただきました。

What a wonderful property! The staff, in typical Japanese fashion, were incredibly kind and willing to help. No matter what I asked for, the staff member would stop and make sure I was their only focus. The room was great, the view was spectacular!! Very happy with this place, their hot springs, and facilities. Every detail was taken care of, and I highly highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Shimoda.

The hotel sits on a hill, so the views from the rooms are fantastic. There’s even a shortcut to Nabetahama Beach, which makes getting to the sea super easy. The pool is brand new and really impressive. The staff were very friendly, and our kids had an amazing time.

The view from our room was breathtaking! It was possible, because the hotel is a bit remote. There’s a complimentary shuttle between the hotel and downtown station, but it’s quite a walk after hours when the shuttle stops running. Nonetheless, we would stay here again.

早餐食材新鮮，可以望住靚景食早餐，早上太陽直射餐廳偏焗。環保意識很強，連續住四晚下，因爲兩天不用打掃而收下兩張1000日元禮券在酒店買手信用。大浴場清潔工人笑容可掬，大堂中田先生英文很好及非常有耐性。環境一流，但是沒有一泊二食選擇，上落酒店去覓食都要行5分鐘左右的超級斜坡。

리조트 위치가 산 위라서 접근성이 조금 떨어지지만, 그만큼 전경이 만족스럽습니다. 직원분들은 모두 친절하시고, 호텔에 있는 대욕장 또한 만족스러웠습니다. 시모다에 가게 된다면 다시 머물고 싶은 호텔이예요!

The big sell here are the beautiful views and the refreshing outdoor hot spring tubs. The hotel itself is pretty tired though and the French style food managed to be both pretentious and tasteless and super pricey. Staff are great though. Very kind and helpful. And those views are just beautiful.

Loved this hotel. It’s in a stunning setting that feels secluded in a beautiful bay but was just over a small hill to the city. Modern and friendly with an almost 1950s-60s resort vibe to it which we really enjoyed. The pool was excellent with vibrant well-appointed gardens surrounding the whole property. Great place to explore from, with paths, beaches and coastal walks and an easy 10-15min stroll into the town. Hiring a bike would have been a good option too. We extended our stay from 2 to 4 days after falling in love with the hotel. The restaurant was good. Recommend a meal there in the evening, there was some really good local fare, and the breakfast was a fabulous buffet with lots of options. Lots of staff who were all friendly and attentive.

お部屋も綺麗だし、部屋が広いし、寝そして働いてる人たちが大変親切でした。また朝食のブッフェがとても美味しくいろいろな料理が出ていました。止まったら朝食のブッフェは食べるべきだと思います。

Hotellet har en flot beliggenhed. Der er en fin pool og lille lokal strand i kort afstand. Men værelset var af lav standard i forhold til prisen. Poolens åbningstid var begrænset. Det samme var åbningstiden på poolbar og restaurant. Personalet havde meget svært ved at kommunikere på engelsk.

夕食のメニューで、選択肢が限られる事が残念です。また、ロビーサロンでの喫茶営業も限られています。それを除けば、大浴場のお湯も塩素臭くなく、お部屋の状況も朝食も問題なく、良いと思いました。

今回も素敵な時間をありがとうございました。下田東急ホテルに宿泊するのは今年で3回目になりますが、毎年「また来たい」と思わせてくれる場所です。家族みんなが肩の力を抜いてゆっくり過ごせる空気感があり、子どもたちにとっても夏の楽しみの一つになっています。スタッフの皆様の温かいおもてなしや、行き届いたサービスのおかげで、今年も思い出に残る滞在となりました。一点だけ、さらに素晴らしいホテルになると感じたことがあります。プールサイドでのお食事のオペレーションが改善されると、お客様が待つ時間のストレスが減り、満足度はさらに高まると思います。魅力的なロケーションだからこそ、その時間もより快適になれば最高です。それでも、このホテルには「また帰ってきたい」と思わせる魅力があります。家族でゆっくり過ごしたい方には、自信を持っておすすめできるホテルです。スタッフの皆様、今年も心温まるおもてなしをありがとうございました。また来年も家族で伺える日を楽しみにしています。

Pænt renoveret hotel med pool og onsen og tæt på lille lokal strand. Værelser med udsigt. Dyr morgenmadsbuffet (ikke pengene værd..) Ikke alt personale kunne snakke engelsk. Cafe og bar ikke eksisterende (lukket) og generelt skete der ikke noget på hotellet om aftenen.

This is a very nice and well kept hotel, with friendly employees. However it is important to distinguish that whilst this the hotel is "really good" to most, it is "perfect" possibly to sligthly fewer. If we had been an adult couple looking for a relaxing japanese hotel, for a tranquil spa/onsen weekend staying in in the hotel for most of the time, it would have been perfect. For us, as a European family with youth kids, it was also good, but; - the placement with the beatiful view IS a bit of a walk from the sleepy downtown of Shimoda - the shuttle is super useful to / from the train during day time, but does not run in the evening possibly, maybe a mild direction from the hotel to eat in the hotel restaurant. Also the crew had a policy not help us make a dinner reservation in town. - the hotel restaurant was nice and the food really good for dinner, albeit a slight bit formal to our taste, and prices in the slightly exclusive direction compared to other Japanese places. - the outdoor pools were nice, but not heated (chilly water in early July). - the path down to the nearby beach was steep, and other beaches around the city are probably much nicer -as a European family with teenagers we did not make use of the Onsen - which probably is fantastic to others! So - reallly good place - and probably fantastic if you are in the right target group.
