Quality Inn Mt Pleasant - Charleston

Pool under repair. Had to wait till after 2 for ck in

Disappointing. We arrived on a hot sunny day and found out the pool was closed and there was no notice on the website about the closure. The room door was broken and it was hard to open and close the door, the room smelled like bleach, and for some reason the carpet was damp. One positive, the breakfast had good options.

The hotel is in a great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the air conditioner in the gym did not work.

Nice property, great location. Easy to get downtown and to the beaches if Mt Pleasant. Great pool, but it wasn’t open! That was a main reason for picking this property. It’s 25 degrees most days, fair to expect it to be open so that was really disappointing. When you advertise a hotel with a pool you should clearly state if it’s not open. That was a dealbreaker for us.

Spacious room with good standards of cleanliness. Telephone was not connected so we had to go to reception to ask questions. Good breakfast for this type of hotel, with hot and cold options. However, unfortunately we got little sleep the first night due to plumbers working noisily to repair something right outside our window until 2am. We were not informed about this or offered an alternative room, an apology or compensation even when we mentioned the disturbance and that, at first, it sounded like someone trying to enter our room. Given that sleep is the primary reason for staying in a hotel, this is not really acceptable. Pool was also green and not inviting at all. A shame, because without these issues, it would probably have been a very good stay.

Pool was closed for our whole stay. They did not give us anything to make up for that. Requested late check out and someone came banging on our door early to kick us out. She was nasty and rude when we let her know we asked for a late check out. Beds are uncomfortable. Would not stay here again.

The lady who checked us in was kind of rude. The pool was closed the whole time we were there even though the first day it has only rained for maybe an hour. Breakfast was so busy there wasn’t anywhere for people to sit. On night two the humidity outside was so bad that the carpets in our room felt wet. But overall it was a good stay.

Roaches in the room, hair dryer didn’t work, pool was green and closed, day time desk staff was rude, room looks nothing like what is pictured online, ice machines did not work.

No elevator, no phone in room, person at front desk was rude at check in. Dingy and dark rooms.

Stay away! Our flight was delayed so we arrived around 12:30a- girl at the front desk was way less than friendly. Proceed to room and there’s a horrible musty smell when we got there but it was late and we quickly looked around and room appeared to be ok. Well I woke up with bites all over my arms, noticed mold on the curtains and then to top it off there was blood on two towels in the bathroom that was not from us. The hotel manager allowed us to check and and refunded the nights we did not have be up staying but would do nothing for the few hours we stayed and had the WORST experience. I highly recommend you DO NOT stay at this property.

Inexpensive clean rooms in a good location. The Staff was super friendly, but more importantly, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot..

The place was fine, but my mom and i ended up getting bedbug bites all over.

We called in advance to make sure the pool would be open. That was one of the main reasons why we booked this hotel, and I be damn when we got there if they didn’t have it closed! They kept changing their story on why it was closed. Then when we got into our room it was FILTHY! There were roaches and trash/food was left in the fridge from the previous people. The staff working were VERY RUDE as well. I would NOT recommend staying here!

Looks like recently remodeled. Sparkling clean bathroom, clean room! Beds and pillows are comfortable. Great front desk and employees! Pool, free bfast, big screen tv, micro and fridge are nice too. Able to stay two nights since it was inexpensive :) Near numerous resturants.

The room was not clean The bedframe was dangerously exposed The bathtub was not clean properly The price was low, i received what i paid for. Not going to recommend or stay again

Cockroaches in the pillow cases!!

The room has mold, and a lot of humidity. The housekeeper was very nice.

The property was very clean, the swimming pool was opened, and the breakfast was very good. Good place to stay on vacation.

My bed sheets were covered in dirt and had not been washed

The only negative to my stay was that my room was very damp and humid

Door would not lock from outside and had to get that repaired. The breakfast was ok but didn’t have syrup for the waffle maker. The breakfast area was around 85 degrees which was uncomfortable to enjoy the breakfast and the scrambled eggs were watery. Room was a little musty smelling. The hotel is right on Hwy 17 so you can definitely hear road noise all night into the morning.

Honest staff!! I got a call shortly after we checked out stating we left a large bag. This bag doesnt zip, so right on top were my $200 pair of shoes, beach towels, 2 brumate koozies, and my cash was in there. Thanks so much to the cleaning staff and front desk lady who called me. Breakfast was good. The only negative thing I can say is the air conditioner struggled and didn't cool down until 2 am. But, this hotel was about $200-250 cheaper than surrounding hotels for our two nights, so that basically paid for our dinner one night. Thanks again!

Good folks do work at the hotel. Our room was big and the beds were comfortable.

Needs better water pressure

The overall place wasn’t bad. The staff was good. The room stunk. Musty/maybe mold. Floor between bed and bathroom was wet. Which is probably the cause of the smell.

Reception was friendly. Entered room and as expected it was warm but thought it would cool down once air was on. We had a fan and the air on and if never cooled down. After several hours reported the issue and was moved to another room. This room was no better. Temperature gadge said it was 77 degrees in the second room. Only cooled down around 4 in the morning. Room was clean but the linens could afford to be updated as they were stained with makeup on the pillow cases and sheets. Staff was nice, facility was taken care of, the area was quiet for being near a busy street and breakfast was decent. I would just say if you don’t tolerate heat this might not be for you.

Room was clean but dated. King bed with small flat pillows (uncomfortable). Asked for extra pillows and received 2 standard pillows. ( much more lofted and comfortable). Cold water was practically non existent , it was warm no matter how long it ran

Good room for quick night’s sleep after a late flight; hotel required a telephone call for check in as the front desk isn’t staffed 24 hours but clerk was prompt after my initial call and I got checked in; room had a musty smell but turning on the a/c helped; nice quality beds; good TV channel choices although I wasn’t really there long. Complimentary breakfast was nice. I wouldn’t pick it for a vacation destination but for a quick stop over it was perfect for the price.

It was fine. Nothing spectacular but satisfactory. Only bad thing was that the fridge made some awful sound so we had to unplug it. We asked to move to the room next to use but it wasn't an option so we just dealt with it.

Staff was extremely helpful with an issue we had. Great employees

I wasn't super impressed with the desk clerk when I arrived. She seemed annoyed or something but provided what I needed. If you need a bare minimum establishment with a decent breakfast, this is your place.

Bathrooms in lobby had a terrible smell. Staff was watching videos on phone in the breakfast area. Check in staff was not very professional or polite.

The hotel was acceptable. I was surprised that I was charged a $50 deposit on my credit card and that this deposit was not charged separately but on my main invoice total. I am not sure I will get it back. The reception lady was unfriendly. I will not use this hotel again. Let's see if I get the deposit back....

Easy check in/out procedure and staff was very helpful. Great place to stay for the price value.

Great staff. Had a problem with our room that they were unaware of. Gave us a new room immediately. Room was pretty good ( older rooms ) breakfast was good. Basically the same as other hotels. I would stay again

Aside from the check in lady in the afternoon, the evening and next morning front desk women were just plain rude and not pleasant at all. We went down stairs to check out and get breakfast at 545am. And the door was locked. Just like any other guests we had somewhere to be at 645. Breakfast was at 6 and we had 15 minutes to eat. She came outside at 6, smoked a cigarette and then went back inside to open the doors...now we only had about 7 minutes for my child to eat before I sent him off to matriculate at The Citadel. I hate that we have reservations at the same place for September parents weekend. After that...we will go elsewhere as we will spend a lot of time down there.

I am puzzled by the positive reviews on this hotel, why was my room so bad in comparison? I stayed five nights and housekeeping only cleaned my room twice. After complaining to the front desk and being promised action, nothing ever happened. The staff said they would alert the manager but they never did, when I checked out, I asked to see the manager and she confirmed she didn't know about it. I feel this was deliberate. Maybe they were understaffed, but being gaslighted by the front desk staff and manager made it worse. My stay awful as I also had to deal with a long hours at work. Coming back late night to a room that wasn't cleaned over and over again was a deliberate sign of disrespect and lack of professionalism. They had a chance to fix it and they chose not to. The room I was in smelled of damp, my clothes and my paper grocery bags got more damp by the day and everything in the room that was made of metal was rusted. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Buyer beware. And another issue: When I first checked in, the front desk told me there was no booking for me (Through Expedia), that on their screen it looked like had cancelled the booking (I had not) but said another room was available for a higher rate, eventually I called Expedia and they sorted it out because the booking was clearly visible in my account. I will warn everyone I know about this hotel, something is not right. Looking forward to seeing how management will respond to this review.

Our AC was not working properly in our room one afternoon. I called the front desk and within 15 minutes, the maintenance technician was there. Instead of moving us to a new room which would have meant packing everything up, they quickly switched out the unit.

The front desk ladies were so nice and accommodating.

Close to the highway connecting to Charleston

Great place to stay. Uber rides to downtown Charleston. Close to Patriots Point USS Yorktown. Nice breakfast also!

The room is comfortable and clean. The pool area is near our room and looks inviting. The location to Charleston, Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms is a plus.

We liked that the hotel was close to the beach, downtown Charleston and close to all highways. There is nothing that we did not like.

The hotel was a lot better than we expected, and the location is excellent! We were pleased to find that it is within 3 miles of Walmart, Nordstrom Rack, Ross and a Whole Foods is literally within walking distance. For things to do, it’s within 5 miles of the Waterfront Park and the Charleston Street Market, so that’s also a plus. The room was clean and the hotel supplies you with plenty of towels and we didn’t have any issues with plumbing or appliances in the room. The breakfast, which is served everyday from 6am-9am, and 9:30 was also very good and it comes with just about everything you could think of. We were in town for a family reunion and were given other suggestions for hotel stays, but the prices were extremely high, so I’m glad we took the time to shop around because we saved a lot of money staying at Quality Inn. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Booked 2 rooms for the night and they could only find reservation for 1 of them. The air conditioner leaked onto the floor in one of the rooms, reaked of mildew and the floor was soaking wet. Full continental breakfast was from 6-9am and at 8:15, when my family and I went down, food was scarce and the staff stated they weren't making anymore. Affordability was the only perk.

Could have a more stocked breakfast. They seemed to be out of everything.

So far this trip (out of 4 different reservations) this was the best. Esp breakfast options.

Clean enough that I felt comfortable. Building could use some updates, but again, mostly clean. There was zero toilet paper in room when we arrived. I tried to call down to desk to request some but room phone didn’t work at all. I know in most cases people just use their own phones these days so I didn’t even mention it. Breakfast food was decent, but dining area was a bit small so we felt a bit rushed to eat so others could have a table. Bedding comfortable. The sink being outside the bathroom was a bit of an inconvenience as it meant the early riser’s morning routines disturbed those still sleeping.

Perfect for a quick weekend trip to Charleston. Close to everything and not overpriced like other hotels in the area. Delicious fresh breakfast and nice rooms. We will definitely come back!
