Motel 6 Tacoma, WA - Fife

The pool did look good

Hotel is adjacent to I5 freeway, which is very noisy and dirty. The availability of laundry facilities was important to me, but the dryers (2) did not completely dry clothes, rather left everything damp even after hours running repeated cycles. Shower was tiny. Bed was droopy. Cleanliness seemed OK.

Bedsheets were clean but hairs found in the bathroom. Shower was barely usable. Mysterious thick greenish-brown liquid in pool made it resemble a birthing area for the Uruk-hai.

No extra pet fees!!

Although it needs some reno touch ups, it was nice and clean. Very friendly staff. Great pool.

No mini fridge in the room. No blow dryer in the room. No tiny bottles of shampoo or body wash. I have stayed at other Motel 6s and they all had these in the room already. People sitting in their cars in the parking lot with music (not customers), homeless people filling up bags with ice from the ice machine.

Always here. Staff are always pleasant, smelling good. Truck parking is great.

Natalie is Amazing!!! She has the Best Customer Service skills around. She is always able and willing to accommodate any and all requests. Also the New Beds are very comfortable!!! Very pleased to see the pool is up and running so early in the year. Great amenity!! Motel 6 Keep up the Good Work!!!

Very limited amenities, but there was on site laundry during the day. The ice machine and vending was locked up with laundry, but there was no need for ice because the bucket was cheap plastic without lid and no minifridge to keep it in. Dont bring your own food if it needs heated, because there's no where to cook it either.

I think the hotel either just went smoke free or someone didnt listen to what was told, the room smelled heavily of cigarettes. The door to the bathroom got jammed day one and the two wonderful ladies at the front desk came up and tried to fix it then it was decided they needed to uninstall the knob. They said they would send maintenance up in the morning to fix it. We had decided not to wait around and just go get our day started. The gentleman at the front desk said that he was giving us a little bit to wake up. I believe maintenance wanted us there and we just didnt want to wait around. I reminded them on the way out. The key card deactivated VERY easily. If you carried it close to your phone, like in your pocket, it would deactivate. Even with all the surprises we still had fun. All we really wanted as a place to laid our heads and that was what we got. The customer Service was top level. The beds were comfy and the pool was VERY clean and cold.

Rooms are always clean

The worst place i’ve stayed at, it was horrible, the toilet seat was visibly damaged and there was pubic hair on it, on 2 of the towels in the bathroom there was pubic hair as well as actual hair in the towels, the sink was dirty, and on the desk area it was disgusting, i don’t even know what was on there but it didn’t even look like anyone cleaned the room, i wasn’t even comfortable sleeping in the bed knowing that everything else was dirty and filthy. Never coming back here.

The room was disgusting. There was no evidence that the room had been cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom shower and sink were covered in hair. Clean towels from the front office had hair stuck in the fibers, none of this hair was mine or my guests as we had not used any of these facilities yet. When booking the room a mini fridge and microwave were pictured but not present in the room, the caused us to throw away food that was brought with us. The beds were squeaky and lumpy leading to no sleep the one night we stayed. There were cops in and out of the property all night, this feels like something not right is going on there. If you want my advise, stay far away from this Motel 6 - I’ve had way better stays at other locations in the past but this one was atrocious.

Very clean for a motel 6, had to wait a while to get help for things like an extra garbage bag, overall it was alright and I didn't see any bugs in the room. Great for a motel 6

Not only is this hotel noisy due to the freeway, the doors are not sealed letting the noise into the room. New windows would probably help as well. Room was dirty and the shower appeared so dirty we didn’t want to shower until we left early to another hotel.

Check in and out was super smooth and easy. Room was very clean and put together nothing was damaged and the room did not smell nasty or moldy. One of the better hotels with a cheap price. Front desk was very friendly and welcoming.

Heater did not work. Bed was uncomfortable. Mattress was lumpy.

Did not like the bright light outside room windows at night all night

This is actually a very nice property. Nicer than any you'll find around Seattle. However, the staff are so lazy you can't even count on them to be at the front desk. Ever! They do not bother serving coffee between 6:00 and 10:00. They're not knowledgeable in the office at all, about anything. And to top it all off, the Wi-Fi was bad from the beginning but was broken apparently, and I've been staying there 2 weeks without Wi-Fi, and not one word to me about a refund or any kind of credit. The cost of the room includes Wi-Fi that's not some kind of free perk! I'm being charged for something I don't have, and nowadays living without Wi-Fi is a punishment. This is cost me money and data fees but it would not have been convenient to relocate for 2 weeks. Anyway I'd like to come back but you just can't count on anything at this property.

Was missing some standard basics for any hotel/motel room - no mini fridge, no microwave, no hair dryer, no shampoo. Could see daylight all around the door, so could hear every sound outside clearly. Centipede in the shower.

Only reason they didn't get a 5 was the wifi was down.

Good accommodation along highway 5 so noise is expected. Rooms are basic and clean.

The only thing bugs we didn’t like was the bed was shot…SHOT! Felt like we were sleeping on a mattress that was retrieved from a dumpster. Ya it was bad!. Also the parking lot was lit up by super bright floodlights and we had had to stuff things around the curtain to darken the room. Very sparse but what do you expect for $58!

Big, spacious room with a good tv, a small fridge. The bathroom was very large and spacious and loaded with safety items. The place was well lit and clean. I only used it for one night. The price was right.

Wifi too weak in our room.

With Motel 6 theres a certain level of low expectation i had but this was not ok. I had a reservation online and when we got there wrll past checkin they didnt have a room clean or ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. Not long, but still. The poor girl at the front was stressed because she was by herself. After a bit we had a room available and went to it to get settled. The amount of questionable stains was laughable....the shower was scary to say the least, there was dirty soap and a dirty used razor on the counter. On top of all that the beds were damp...and the mattresses had such huge divets in them that i was sleeping on a hill...thankfully brought my own blankets to cover the bed as i was too afraid to sleep under the damp covers. Definitely will not be taling a chance with motel 6 again.

I had to cut my stay short but they refunded the days left with an understanding and a smile.. there's nothing more important than respect.. 5 stars all the way around !!

My cousin checked in I just got off my flight and he got the rudest front desk lady that gave him a room in front of the office and said no one without i.d. Can enter the room we explained to the lady that ive lost my identification at the airport luggage terminal and was going to the next avaible appointment in the a.m. to retrieve A new one and she was cruel and wouldn’t even allow me to place my items into the hotel room and sleep in the car if I had to because If I were to step into the room everyone would of had to check out luggage and all it was the worst unconvince ive ever experienced with motel 6 in no way were they able to accommodate me nor listen to any further evidence i had that my identity has been lost a few hours earlier I felt so offended that she wouldn’t allow my items to even enter the room so there would be enough room for me to sleep in the car offsite before the long drive in the morning but before arrival they weren’t saying any of this about the extra guests just about the person Whose name it was in had to provide identity and I would be fine to just make the reservation and it was a ploy for me to rent with them just to be turned away like I was a unidentifiable object because they didn’t treat me humane I’d like something done About this waste of money and false presumptions and inconsideration to what’s happened only after the reservation was made and purchased horrible experience and emotional distress from judgement they had when I had no I.d.

Please don’t go here, wife had an awful experience. Wife travels to work and she needed a place to stay. We book motel 6 through Expedia and she arrived at 11pm, 03/13/25. Goes inside to check in, clerk says it’s going to be 15-20 mins for them to check her in and asks her to step outside. As she walks outside they lock the door behind her. With that two guys were harassing her outside and I asked her to get in her car and lock the doors. So glad the staff at this establishment cares soooo much about their customer safety. Clerk never unlocks door as she waited. Ended up needing to find her a better place to stay. If you care about safety please do not come here

Staff was very rude.. there were no rooms available.. They never pick up phone.. Very nasty manager cancelled our booking without confirming refund. Will stay away from motel-6 in future.

All people around are nice. Is close of everything. You have an Starbucks just in the entrance and in front is a gas station. The police is always close the are so you can feel safe.

There was a shooting in the parking lot. 9 police cars. Residents one room over removed. Two people shot. Google Fife Motel 6 shooting July 10, 2025. Please do not stay in the hotel or area. We were from outside the area, and did know it was so bad. Managment did not even contact me or share concerns, etc.

There was a literal shooting that happened in a room of the hotel the morning I checked in. I had to find out about it from a tenant hours after I checked it. The receptionist made no mention of it. Couldn't use any amenity either because it was absolutely disgusting. No fridge in the room either. TV barely worked. Lights outside were so bright it was like daytime. Barely slept that night because we were paranoid of other gunshots, which we honestly think we might have heard. Frankly I would've switched hotels had it not been for all of them being booked because of a concert and that it was already 8pm by the time I was made aware of the shooting.

One night stay for a concert at Tacoma Dome. Close, quick checkin, clean & great price

The hotel did well in serving my purpose. It was close to Wild Water Waves in which we had fun.

View out the window was Mt Rainer which was beautiful. Shady neighborhood. The room was clean and we were only there to sleep so it was fine.

You donot put coffee or shampoos or a hair dyer the common items you dont have to bring and this had none of the items here listed.

Property was great for what the price was. Clean, lots of places to eat across the overpass.

The guest services were great. The room was very clean but the condition of shower walls was poor. Resurfacing diesnt work get a new stall. Tge new door guest left dog alone which barked alot. Great services in walj7ng distance, public pool, fast food, coffee shop gas conveinence store.

It was near a Starbucks so it was a good location and with ample parking. The Expedia site mentioned about breakfast but it was not provided actually, nor was a shampoo given - we had to buy one for a buck. Room was clean though smelled a bit when we came in.
