This was a great find. Been to Daytona many times and love to use the smaller places. A little older but clean and neat. We stayed in the two bedroom unit where the view was outstanding!! Little misleading about two bedrooms, there were two separate sleeping areas, but you had to walk through one to get to the other or to the living/dining area and only one bedroom had actual door for privacy. Two bathrooms were a plus! Beds were comfortable. Pool was a good size and clean.

Location is excellent. Pool was not working. Deck was dirty, door going from room to deck would have been very easy to bust through. Room very dark, curtains very old and partially falling down from rod. Sheets on bed felt like plastic. Stove had 1 burner that was broken, maintenance just left the broken burner there. Plates were a brown plastic, good thing I brought my own. Pans were nice. The entire property needs work, great potential. I have to say, I did feel safe staying there.

Curtains would not shut all the way. Beds very uncomfortable toilet needed plundged afer each use. No elevator aggravating to my wife who has back issues.

Motel was right on the beach making it very convenient. Motel needs updating but it didn’t ruin our stay. Parking is a problem.

They charged a pet fee at the office when I checked in. Had to check in before 9 pm. The kitchenette was dirty and there were bugs on the plates, the silverware was all greasy. There was no elevator. Pool was wonderful and clean, hotel was steps to the beach. Parking was awful and filled up quickly. Off site parking is available.

The setting/view was lovely. We had and ocean front. It was dog friendly. Pool was yucky. Railing was broken to enter pool. Big hole by pool where maybe pump dug up?? Yellow tape put up all around.

Negitives--Floors weren't swept, toilet leaked from tank, room smelt musty and moldy, pool not skimmed, many many bugs floating in it. Positives-beach access, beautiful pool (just wish it was skimmed), location. Not saying we didn't enjoy our stay, we did just if ya pay $100 a night then charge an additional fee because I needed first floor, when I asked for first floor when booking, and I get 3 rd then ask for the first, well it's going to be an additional $50. You want your room to be a little bit cleaner.

The support staff were friendly and helpful. Our friend was locked out of their room twice, the first time it was about 11:30 pm and when we called the office they stopped answering the phone, prompting us to knock on the office door until someone answered. The railing in the pool was missing and a piece of PVC was in the hole. The sofa in the room looked and felt like it had been rescued from a dumpster or the side of the road.

This was the second time I stayed at Driftwood. This time I brought my husband and we stayed in a “King” ocean view room (C115) The bed was the perfect softness!! In the double ocean view (A102) the beds were firm. Nothing wrong with that, just not my thing. I came back because EVERYONE there was so friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and you certainly cannot beat the great beach access (right onto the beach where puppy dogs are allowed). The pool they have there is clean and fun. There’s two small bbq grills (if you elect to go w/o a kitchenette), plenty of picnic tables and lounge chairs/chairs. Yes, the building is older and parking is interesting (at times), however, just the fact that it’s CLEAN and everyone is beyond friendly and helpful; that’s way up there in my book. I will continue to go back to Driftwood when I can. Plus, my Shih Tzus can come along with a lower pet fee policy.

Beach access is top notch. A little on the dated side, but staff was friendly, rooms were clean and seemingly well maintained, and it’s in a relatively quiet spot. Would absolutely stay again.

Property was old, dirty. Had black mold and blood on the shower curtain. Flooring in bathroom was vinyl and was torn away from the wall. Doors were coming off of bathroom vanity. Had a kitchen and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years. Terrible. Said something about it when we checked out and all they said was okay.

Property was in need of repairs and clean up. Stayed for three nights and there were no attempts at Maid Service during the entire stay. Weekend parking was non-existent. Pool as well as room were dirty upon arrival and remained the same. No attempts were made to clean the room or poo bedding appeared to be Queen or King Size for the double beds. Would not recommend this property.

The room was mostly clean, it just felt like there was a residue on various pieces of furniture. I made sure to wash all my dishes before using them. The balcony was pretty dirty and the ash tray was dirty with water and I'm guessing cigarettes? (we don't smoke, so that was pretty off putting). The towels and linens were clean, as well as the bathroom. The man who checked me in couldn't tell me exactly what I would be charged. I had one service dog and one service dog in training. Service dogs in training are covered under the same laws according to Florida state law. He said he was going to charge for the one in training. She is trained enough to know not to chew furniture and holds her bathroom until outside. They made no mess while there. But, again, he still couldn't tell me what I would be charged upon check in. Instead he just kept smiling uncomfortably without giving me a direct answer. I didn't want to fuss and just wanted to get on with enjoying my weekend. So I left it be. But just be aware when booking this property. And maybe bring a spray cleaner and paper towels? It was nice to be able to walk right out onto the dog friendly section of Ormond Beach, though!

Our room A108 is dirty, the bed linen hasn't been changed for a long time. The sheets and pillowcases are full of sand, they haven't been changed from the previous guests. Very good location of hotels.

This place was absolutely horrible. Dead roaches on the floor, Sheets had dog hair all over them and other dirt marks like urine, blood . Pleather daybed ripped up with dirt, crumbs and ugh just horrible stuff all in the rips on it. The smell almost knocked me over. The windows looked like they were never ever cleaned. The bathroom toilet shower and floors were not cleaned. The floors throughout were pretty disgusting. I went back to the office to tell them I could not stay there. The woman in the office told me she was emailing Expedia to give me a full refund. Still waiting for that refund. I was lucky enough to be able to book another hotel.

The pillow case had blood stains, the towels also had stains, holes and were yellowish. Beautiful view, awful bedding and bathroom towels. Front desk staff was kind to replace the pillow.

Definitely a "no-frills" motel. Could use some sprucing up in my opinion. Contrary to the hotels.com advertisement, there was no kitchenette in my room and no access to a gym. This should be updated. But considering the location and price, I can't complain too much! The walls are thin. Bring earplugs. The balcony was my favorite part. :)

I enjoyed the stay there. I got the room with the ocean view but the only problem was the windows were cracked in a couple places and they were quite dirty on the outside which may be expected facing the ocean. Didn’t care for the low pressure shower but other than that it wasn’t a bad experience

The room was not clean. Pillows was dirty. Walls nasty. We took pictures. We did not stay there. We found another room at a different place. The smell was terrible. Door didn’t close completely. Very unsafe.

Beautiful view and pool right on the beach. There was thin could hear other guest and the door separating rooms was literally held by a nail. It was a beautiful sunrise in the mornings and overall we only used it to sleep in so for that functionality it was perfect.

Its a cheap motel, dont expect the ritz. The pool area is beautiful but if youre allergic to cigarettes its really hard to move away from it. The shower curtain was moldy, there were feet prints on the couch and the door didnt seal well. The beds are great!

Old school style but comfy bed and friendly people working. View was beautiful. The pool looked very nice but too cold the night we stayed. Wonderful that it’s pet friendly and on pet friendly part of the beach. Some repairs could be done to a few things. Pillows very old, but I had my own with me. We would stay again for a night.

The TV did not work when we arrived. I went to the office hoping to have it resolved the next day, but it was not. Also there was a roach on the floor when we arrived. Our room was not attended to when we went away to the race track. No clean towels or coffee supplies. Bathroom door and porch door did not latch properly.

First, should have known trouble was going to happen when the Motels sign wasn’t even lit up. Passed it and pulled into the Motel next to it. Then when I went to the office to get my room keys, I find that the office is closed with a sign that says that late check in room keys are in a box to the left. Guess what wasn’t in the box to the left? My room keys. I tried to call the number they have posted twice and no one picked up. Absolutely ruined my night and ruined my faith in small motels.

The receptionist was extremely rude! Didn’t greet me, was on his phone for a few minutes before finally acknowledging me. Then ended his call saying it was his boss getting onto him. I told him that I was here to check in and he looked over at the clock and said “um nope check in I’d at 3pm” I stated to him that I understand that I’m just wanting to start the process and park so we can go to the beach since it’s 2:40pm. Then he looked back at the clock and said “check in Is at 3pm” and got back in his phone. I then said I came here last week and did my process then we went on the beach until the time was ready so what’s the problem? Then a staff member came in and remembered me and said oh she’s here a lot and then he put my information in and treated me differently. I always get room B 110. I’m very upset. And our towels are stained and dirty and shower was dirty it had pubic hairs and dirt inside. Very disappointed

Lightning was poor but I think the turtle nests were being considered. Maybe some solar or reflectors at the top of the stairs would help. Other than that this motel met our needs and was reasonably priced. The desk staff was very helpful in getting us moved to a lower floor with a member of our family on crutches. It was clean and location was great!!!!

Front desk clerk was extremely rude. Room was filthy. The water pressure in the shower was so low, we could not rinse soap off. Reported the shower twice, but it was not fixed. We were told to leave dirty towels outside and they would replace them, but no one ever did.

Our friend was locked out of their room twice, the first time it was about 11:30 pm and when we called the office they stopped answering the phone, prompting us to knock on the office door until someone answered. The railing in the pool was missing and a piece of PVC was in the hole. The sofa in the room looked and felt like it had been rescued from a dumpster or the side of the road.

Pure disappointment! There is no staff. Only someone at desk to check you in and that’s it. No house keeping. We were told to leave used towels on ground outside front door in the morning and they will leave new ones on ground in front of door later in the day. Our particular room was BEAT hard. Floors were sticky, walls were stained, bed had sand in it (at least we think it was sand). There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The kitchen was a disgrace. They have apparently made repairs to the ceilings in a couple of rooms and failed to paint/finish the ceiling. Rooms were missing baseboards in spots. Kitchen table had a picnic table cloth on it and that was beat and ripped. Just a disappointment. Grass/lawn area had dog/pet feces. We tried looking into other properties once we arrived but most everything was sold out during our stay. When we booked we knew we were heading to a motel with 3.5 stars, but at over $1,000.00 for 3 nights we expected at least the 3.5 stars. If we could have found another place to stay that was a similar drive to the events we were attending we would have walked into this motel and walked right out. My wife has re-named the motel the “Dirty Dirty Driftwood”. Parking is a joke. At check in we were told that parking was difficult and to park on the street aside the mini-golf place and if we park elsewhere - towed! The only thing this motel has going for it is - open up the slider door (which lock mechanism is a sawn off broom stick) is the Ocean.

This was the second time I stayed at Driftwood. This time I brought my husband and we stayed in a “King” ocean view room (C115) The bed was the perfect softness!! In the double ocean view (A102) the beds were firm. Nothing wrong with that, just not my thing. I came back because EVERYONE there was so friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and you certainly cannot beat the great beach access (right onto the beach where puppy dogs are allowed). The pool they have there is clean and fun. There’s two small bbq grills (if you elect to go w/o a kitchenette), plenty of picnic tables and lounge chairs/chairs. Yes, the building is older and parking is interesting (at times), however, just the fact that it’s CLEAN and everyone is beyond friendly and helpful; that’s way up there in my book. I will continue to go back to Driftwood when I can. Plus, my Shih Tzus can come along with a lower pet fee policy.

Loved our stay! All of the staff were kind and friendly. We didnt have any issues during our stay. Next time we prob will shoot for the apartment or penthouse rooms for space purposes but we loved it!

The room was mostly clean, it just felt like there was a residue on various pieces of furniture. I made sure to wash all my dishes before using them. The balcony was pretty dirty and the ash tray was dirty with water and I'm guessing cigarettes? (we don't smoke, so that was pretty off putting). The towels and linens were clean, as well as the bathroom. The man who checked me in couldn't tell me exactly what I would be charged. I had one service dog and one service dog in training. Service dogs in training are covered under the same laws according to Florida state law. He said he was going to charge for the one in training. She is trained enough to know not to chew furniture and holds her bathroom until outside. They made no mess while there. But, again, he still couldn't tell me what I would be charged upon check in. Instead he just kept smiling uncomfortably without giving me a direct answer. I didn't want to fuss and just wanted to get on with enjoying my weekend. So I left it be. But just be aware when booking this property. And maybe bring a spray cleaner and paper towels? It was nice to be able to walk right out onto the dog friendly section of Ormond Beach, though!

For what I paid, property on the beach…I was very satisfied. Room and pool were clean. Nice common grass are with ocean view, tables and chairs. Easy beach access. Pleasantly surprised.

Beach access is top notch. A little on the dated side, but staff was friendly, rooms were clean and seemingly well maintained, and it’s in a relatively quiet spot. Would absolutely stay again.

This is a lovely Motel directly on the beach with a pool plenty of chairs barbecue grill. The rooms are comfortable clean with a little refrigerator and a microwave. We had a lovely view of the parking lot LOL but we enjoyed our stay anyway. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is not looking for the freaking Hilton

The "penthouse" that sleeps 9 or 10 people and we were only allowed 1 parking spot. Had to park on the street after being told we would have 3 parking spot. Has a full kitchen with no utensils, no garbage bags, not a single garbage can in any of the bathrooms The maintenance guy ways extremely helpful and got a few things taken care of quickly, like no hot water, and a portable ac that had no way to vent out of the room. Will not likely stay here again. I will say the good point is great access to beach and pool to always have kids in view

My husband and I stayed for two nights and what we loved was the proximity to the beach. Our own private entrance to the beach made it extra special. If we could change one thing it would be that you offer a breakfast at least on the weekends.

Check in was delayed 1 1/2 hrs, Room was ill equipped. Inadequate parking. No blow dryer, iron, ironing board, Kleenex, silverware for eating with kitchenette, shower curtain so high water goes out on floor, knees hits the wall when sitting on the toilet. Poor lighting inside. Oceanside window was solid and filthy- not one you can open. Smelled like something dead near the walkway the 3 days we were there.

I read the previous reviews. We swept the room and balcony. The foil paper on the stove was dirty. The small table on the balcony was dirty. I saw a spot on one of the sheets and on the towels. They need to purchase new towels and sheets and comforters that are outdated. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. There is little privacy on the balcony. I was able to see partially into the room next door and saw the guests on the balcony on the other side of their room. I purchased Lysol for the odor in the room. The staff was nice and the balcony view was nice. I enjoyed the pool and used the BBQ pit. All the outside chairs need new cushions.

It was nice to be able to walk right out to the beach and pool. The rooms needed more attention. When you rent a large room with ability for lg family the kitchen should have the basic necessities. No paper towels, no additional trash bags, toilet paper. There were not even enough towels for everyone. Parking was terrible.

We stayed for two nights and unless the motel makes some much needed updates, we won’t be back. We stayed on the bottom floor in 105A which had a patio and kitchenette. The bad-the stove burners and rings were filthy and in need of changing, when I opened the oven to see if it was clean, the bottom of the oven simply fell off. The microwave was rusted on top, the refrigerator insulation gasket around the door had mold(and not just a little). The baseboards in almost the entire room were dirty and in desperate need of a wipe down. The air conditioner was ice cold(a big plus) but needed to be sealed to the wall. There was a humidifier in the corner propped up on a concrete block to get rid of the mold/musty smell. The bottom of the front door needed a good cleaning and looked like it was chewed on by a dog. The shower rod and all door hinges were completely rusted. The comforter was OLD. The pool was nice but, was missing the safety bar to go down the steps. It was laying by a wall. All of the lounge chair cushions were rotten, torn open, smelled moldy and I would be scared to sit on the wooden Adirondack chairs, they wobbled and looked rotten. I am not embellishing any of this and have pictures to back up my claims. The only thing positive is that the motel was directly on the beach and we could bring our dog. Do better please.

I will never have enough words to say how pleased I am with this motel. Driftwood has such pleasant and helpful people who work hard there. Both rooms (2 different times I’ve been there) were super clean, ice cold AC and mini-fridge, nice shower stalls with great water pressure coming from the overhead faucet. It’s right across the street from a mini golf and there are a couple local restaurants down the street in either direction. For me, I’d rather save money and bring food to grill ( 2 outdoor grills - the type like at campgrounds) or make sandwiches. The pool is super clean and fun to laze around in. Plenty of loungers and other chairs. Two stairways down to the beach (where dogs are allowed!). Oh, I also love how there isn’t carpeting! There’s a lot of sand that clings and comes back into the room with you. There’s usually a couple of brooms somewhere in case you want to sweep away some of the sand out. They don’t come in and make your bed, which, I totally appreciate the privacy. Every morning you can put out your dirty towels and garbage, later, they’ll bring more towels, garbage liners & toilet paper. I cannot enunciate how clean the rooms are and as well as the pool. If you’re looking for easy access to the beach, a warm & welcoming place that’s CLEAN… this is your place!!

This place is have stayed for the last 12 yrs. Great place . No elevators and we was on third floor inconvenience and the one lady in the office is always grouchy . Everyone else is super nice

The Beach view and access was amazing. The room was good but could use a little TLC and updates. The parking was not an issue. We really didn’t see the staff but they did bring us clean towels everyday as long as you leave your used ones outside the door by noon.

Good place for family time! Housekeeping is on point. Beds are new but stiffer than I liked, but that’s my biggest complaint. Ice machine unfortunately went out during my stay. Very dog friendly as well. Do recommend and will stay again!
