Parking was absolutely insane. You have to find your own spot in the downtown parking garages (which were mostly full) and then carry everything back to the hotel as you walk clear back.

Both staffing arrival and Mayo Clinic construction will continue to be a challenge for guests at the Kahler Grand for a few months. Hopefully more bell/valet staff can be added and arrival moved back to proper entrance. Until then arrival by car for registration can be chaotic/-once insid at the front desk, check in was a breeze.

Clean room. Beds were horribly uncomfortable. Feather pillows on the bed, which posed some issues with allergies. Chair in the room wheel broke, thankfully we weren't charged. The staff were very friendly. Pool was wonderful. Hot tub was great, perfectly hot. Handicap accessible pool area. Parking situation is a little iffy, but manageable.

Room was very dirty. Couldn’t even take a shower. Outlets didn’t work. Heat was blasting all night and it was SOO hot all night. Maintenance came to “fix” the ac/heat problem and did nothing. Pool was so filthy as well. Rust/mold everywhere. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. I’m mind blown we paid almost $200 for a couple hours of sleep. We also didn’t get our Mayo Clinic discount. What can be done here?????

Major problems were the bathroom and its amenities. Mold on shower curtain and around top edge of bathtub. Sink was stained. Bathroom tile missing around faucet handles. Towels were very thin and only had 2 sets. Room problems - refrigerator froze every in it and we could not adjust it. When turning on tv, came on at full volume each time tv turned on. No free parking. However, being on the mayo subway was the most important thing to us. Took us 5-10 minutes walking in subway to get to the mayo building we needed. Access to the subway offered access to food and numerous other shops.

Staff was friendly, the pool was awful 😡 massive clumps of human hair in the deep end clogging the drains. Our toilet kept running after every flush. And the shower had mildew/mold around the shower door. Parking wasn’t included and the hotel charged me over 75$ for 2 days to park. Will not stay again and will not recommend unless someone needs to be extra close to the hospital.

Didn’t have bath towels when arrived at hotel. Towel arrived was torn in corner. Despite having do not disturb sign on door, housekeeping stopped by 3 times in less 24 hour period which was disturbing when trying to catch up on rest from late arrival.

Room has been updated but not completely. Bathroom tub had very dated faucets and mixing was all but impossible, either very cold or very hot. Dangerous for seniors visiting Mayo Clinic. We had a king bed room. They are very nice. My only complaint is the showers. They really need updating. They have two handles, hot and cold, instead of single lever. It is very difficult to get the water temperature regulated and it tends to go hot the cold during shower. We have stayed twice, and will again because of the easy access to Mayo Clinic and the beds and rooms are nice. The staff is wonderful.

Room was attractive and comfortable. No problems checking in or with staff. Bathtub is a little small, but the biggest issue was water temperature in the shower. It alternated between freezing and scalding every minute or so, no matter what I did. Otherwise, the stay was very pleasant and very close to Mayo for appointments.

The shower was unusable, it would switch from scalding hot (like burn you hot) to freezing every 10 seconds. Other reviews point this out, it's not a bad room they clearly have a major plumbing flaw. While the hotel was quite, I assume due to nice guest, you can hear everything through the walls (adjusting blinds or quite conversations). It was at least clean, I wouldn't stay here again.

I had spent the 2 nights there in 2 different rooms. One room the thermostat was set on 50 the other was set on 60. Both rooms did not achieve anything close to the set temperature, it was more like 72 by the thermostat and gained temperature the further a way you got. Also, there was no fan option on either thermostat. I did not get goodnights sleep because of the room being warmer than I'm used to. Why even have a thermostat, if the hotel is going to regulate the temperature for you. Just for looks, I guess. The 1st room had large equipment running outside that dominated the sound in the room, and it also kept me awake. Ice was very limited per floor. One ice machine located at one far end of the huge floor. The people there were very pleasant, and eager to help. Other than not being able to sleep, it was a good hotel, and I will bring my own fan next time.

A wonderful and historic hotel, which is right next to Mayo. Staff is excellent. I had to get transport to the airport at 3:30am and could not find an Uber or Lyft or Taxi available, and a staff member went the extra mile and personally took me to the airport. I highly recommend the hotel. Rooms and entire hotel are renovated and very nice. I will stay here next time I am in town for sure.

Being so close to Mayo Clinic, the staff at the Kahler is completely understanding that the people staying at their hotel may be going through a really difficult time. They not only treat everyone with kindness, but they are extremely flexible which is a relief when you might not know how long you need to be in Rochester.

I was in Rochester for Mayo Clinic treatment and informed the staff of my disabilities (PPPD, PTSD, severe anxiety). Instead of being accommodating, my experience left me more stressed and exhausted before an important medical appointment. Issues I experienced: 1. Check-in Disaster – My reservation was misplaced for over 20 minutes. Staff insisted I booked at a sister hotel before finally finding it. 2. Poor Navigation & Signage – Was told to park in the garage but given no direction. First elevator was “employees only,” with no signs, and hallways had no clear guidance. 3. The front desk clerk was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful in allowing us to get into our room early. We had appointments that had a very large gap of time. If she hadn't let us in, we would have had to sit in a waiting room for several hours. She helped us on our check out and held our bags, as well. The hotel was very comfortable and I was very happy to be able to just walk down to the subway level to get to our appointments.

The front desk staff checked me in using someone else’s name. I only found this out after we got up to the room and it had one bed and our reservation was for two double beds. The pre authorized my credit card for this room for $287 when my room was already paid for. She then tried to make it sound like it wasn’t a big deal and tried to get me to pre authorize our actual reservation in which I refused. We asked for extra blankets and towels and they never came. Valet took 20 minutes to bring us our car because they don’t label vehicle details on their keys. This is our second time staying and our last.

Due to construction it was difficult to figure out how to check in. When checking in we were told on site parking was full. The staff was very dismissive when asked about where to park. They circled 2 different ramps and told me "If those are full you can figure something else out, but I don't know where else you can park overnight." When trying to get assistance staff was too busy having gossip conversations with each other about other employees and were annoyed when asked for directions or recommendations for eating. This could be a really nice hotel if the staff was not so rude and dismissive of guests.

Checking in was easy and convenient. Valet parking was excellent and made things so easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Zam Zam checked us in and was very very pleasant and professional. She answered all of our questions and assisted us with our needs. Rooms were very nice and clean. Hotel was very convenient to Mayo Clinic. We will definitely use this hotel on future trips.

To be honest, we just went to the Mayo Clinic and this hotel is excellent because it is right in the midst of the Clinic. So ease of access was our top priority.

So convenient to the Mayo Clinic to which it is connected. Biggest minus is the parking which is owned by the city and makes going in and out difficult and expensive(at times the parking was added to the room which made it much more convenient than having to give your Visa card every time going in and again going out)

Nice hotel that is connected to the Mayo Clinic via tunnel. There is shoping and food options in the tunnels under the hotel. And there are plenty of plces to eat around the hotel. There is a parking lot attached to the hotel making getting from the car with all your stuff easier.

I loved this place. It was immaculate and and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved the dining options, especially Ruth's Chris and QDuobo. It was an easy walk or subway to Mayo clinic. I liked the 24-hour self-serve Market and the lobby was beautiful. I will be staying there again for sure. Perfect hotel!

Room was ok, pool was very warm and nice. Parking garage was dangerous with the snow, overpriced breakfast for what you get and the hour wait. Coffee in the room was so bad. Go to the lobby for coffee and they charge you for it.

For an older hotel, it was very nice. The front desk staff were cordial and were very helpful with the questions we had. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Lord Essex restaurant in the hotel had excellent food! We will stay there again.

Great people work here !! We loved the pool on the roof. It is the closest most convenient hotel if your going to Mayo Clinic. I recommend Victorias for italian food. Its a little tricky to get to from inside. If you like italian food you must eat here. Love the fettecini. Wife liked the crab mac and xheese. We will be back.

Had a great stay. The location has great access to Mayo Clinic. The hotel is connected by the underground and skywalk systems. It has great restaurants close by- within a block and 2 inside the hotel. The room was clean and the staff changed towels daily. The bathroom was a bit small but that was expected in this historic hotel. But it was clean and everything worked well. There are lots of plugins too which is appreciated. We had to change our hotel stay and the staff were fantastic to work with.

Room was clean , everything worked, I like the area where u can get coffee for guests do not like the $50 charge for incidentals I would not use, restaurant there is pretty good, prices comparable to everywhere else, staff very good except for 1 when I asked to sit in booth after coming back from hospital he said thats for more than 1 person I had a biopsy I needed comfort to sit in gal came she would of moved me but I didnt have energy to do it food great
