Motel 6-Chula Vista, CA - San Diego

UNSAFE for families. Hotel is mainly used for hookups, we saw young women nearly undressed with her body parts out walking coming in and out of the rooms. Unfortunately we had to stay. But I am NOT booking here again. Laundry room closes at 9pm. Which was inconvenient. Pool was apparently inoperable…lame. Beds were clean. No bugs. Small tight parking area. Hotel staff do not answer their phones. Easy check in and check out.

BOTH ice machines broken. No mini fridge in the room. Big dent in the mattress on left bottom corner. Corner seat in room is definitely 20 years old and look like someone attacked it with a cheese grater. I paid over $120 for this room!!?? Room should have been $50 a night no taxes. Depressing area. People yelling at night.

I arrived and discovered I couldn’t take a shower neither use the swimming pool due to some liking. I was so tired that I decided to take a nap and deal with the situation later. So I checked out and will call for a regund

Reserved room and paid for room with fridge and micro, but they did not have one available. We are 70 yrs old, made us climb stairs to 2nd floor. Room smelled like cleaned with dirty bleach and mop. Only had one towel. Had to hunt down maid to get the rest of our towels. Not planning on staying here again.

We had NO POWER from 1130 pm until i could get ahold of someone who worked there at 6am

I liked the pet friendly environment, but only seemed to be one to two workers the whole time. The day we arrived the showers in the whole place was down but thankfully it was fixed. The pool was out of order for the whole duration of my stay.

When i checked into motel6 they didn't tell me the showers were off until probably 8pm i couldn't shower, please ask them to ne transparent with guess. Chula Vista, California motel6

Location was a little sketchy. My dad and I both thought the hotel was being used by more than a few guests for illicit means... There was a strong police presence on some of the days we were there. Lots and lots and lots of homeless nearby. The pool water looked gross. My father was really excited about wanting to take a swim but after seeing the pool water he immediately changed his mind. Good luck trying to use the TV in the room wirh a game console or other things, the TV inputs are all blocked and there is no direct access. The TV is set to hospitality mode with a secondary remote. There are inputs you can use and perhaps they will work...it's one HDMI in the front of the TV and one USB in a front little box thing in front of the TV. The TV is dated so maybe it has auto port switching but probably not. The Chula Vista Motel 6 feels like it is in a terrible neighborhood. My dad and I would walk around to eat at night. They have a Dennys and McDonald's and Taco Bell, Aunt Emma's (Diner) etc etc. On multiple occasions while walking to get breakfast or lunch near the hotel my father and I would walk past very intense and sketchy individuals. One guy was intense and yelling about s@t@n and h*ll. There was a few other intense individuals that we walked past and they were probably dealing with mental health struggles. The room was clean-ish. The very thin blanket looked questionable, a stain here and there, and some small holes in the blanket. The A/C works. YMMV

The room was nicer than expected, the microwave and mini refrigerator really came in clutch, be prepared to bring your own towels and toiletries, they do provide some but not adequate and the quality is a bit rough to my personal liking, however the near by restaurants and fast food is nice, the best part is walking across the street to the train station.

When i checked in i always check the bed sheets. I pulled entire bed sheets off and i seen blood on the sheets. I ran into a housekeeper or whoever it was. I told her i have sirty sheets on my bed. So a older lady and gentlemen came by to change my sheets. The lady said to me she sont like working here. I told her about the bed sheets that it was a safety and health hazard. Absolutely disgusting i would never stay at this Motel 6 again. The first night i was there i noticed a security guard, but not the second night. There was alot of pot heads around. The other thing was i only got one bath towel and 1 hand towel. I asked for more and was told to return the used ones. Also they dont have bathroom amenities to provide. Im just i got through my 2 nights there. The first night the room next to me was wide open and a guy just passed out on the bed. I dont recommend anyone to stay here. For all this i give 1 star.

Room smelled like smoke bed sheets were dirty shower had mold not good

Room was dirty. Bathroom dirty. Sheets dirty.

It was Nasty. Room smelled like cigarettes and it was “non smoking” the sheets and pillow cases smelled like someone’s head… had to to put my own blankets over the bed. Stayed at this motel 6 and killed 6 motel roaches… not even kidding. No shame in staying at a motel 6… just not this one. It was awful. -5 stars

The first room was extremely filthy the smell was unbearable. That was room 306 the. They moved me to 309 which was smelly and dirty so I went out to Walmart bought myself pillows and sheets. Moved out first thing and never will return.

This property was by far worse place I have ever stayed at. We checked in and not even 10 minutes later we found bedbugs. We tried to tell the owner to give us a refund and he got an attitude with us and told us no that they had fumigated 3 weeks ago that it couldn’t be a bed bug I showed him the mattress had bed bug droppings and the bed bug picture and he was like no no then another employee went and checked and admitted that it was a bed bug but the manager still refused to give me my money back

Roaches the moment we walked into the room. Bathroom - horror movie. There were literal watery poop drop stains on the OUTSIDE of the toilet paper packaging. the bathtub was unwashed. The walls of bathroom stained with what looked also like poop. Property refused to comp or do anything for that matter. I feel cheated.

Didn't stay once we saw the room. The floors were filthy covered in dog hair and dust bunnies. It's like they didn't even clean the room. There was a hole in the bathroom door and what looked like bugs in the bath tub. 10/10 do not recommend staying here

My grandchild came home with bedbug bites.

Dirty floors, cigarette marks on toilet seat, stains on bed spreads, tv wasn’t working properly. Not enough wash clothes, no on answered the front desk . Roaches underneath and on top of refrigerator. I checked out early, I’m asking for a refund please. I went to a way better location.

The only problem was the TV wasn’t working well. They gave me another TV and that one was working and then all the sudden it lost connection. So in theory I didn’t have a TV to watch. I had to use my phone

I like the bright colored paint, the bed was decently comfortable, toilet flushed great and shower pressure was fine. Some things were pretty run down (broken window screen & non-working lights, scrapes in table and chairs). Main complaint is Terribly loud. Like there was no seal around the window I could hear people talking quietly on the balcony. Staff was friendly and helpful though and gave me a new room instead of the broken light one.

Stayed for 3 nights. There is no regular daily service, came back to beds the way we left them. On the second day, i called the front desk asked for fresh towels and the trash to be cleaned. Returned late at night, no fresh towels all trash still in room. Called for towels at 11pm when i had returned, 2 hours laters a knock and i'm given 1 towel told "this is all we found." Beds were terrible, stiff old, the furniture holding the TV seemed like it was about to break.

There was no A/C no towels and there was a dead fly on the window

No blanket. No fridge or microwave. Bed was like sleeping on a toddler mattress but it was fairly clean and no riff raff.

The staff and property were great. The internet was not working with a weak signal and needs improvement.

No hot water and the WiFi did not work

The AC didn't work..I had it on high and cool @60° and the room felt muggy..the room had a strong bad smell and I had to leave my door open for the most part just so I could breath a bit better..also my room had no microwave and I was never able to connect to the wifi

I’ve stayed at this motel 6 a few times this year. And I promise you i always feel like I’m on vacation. This trip was not as streamline as before but the front desk made sure that we were taken care of. Thank you for being friendly, helpful.

First of all the room had no towels & no pillows, I called Front desk to ask for them and the front desk person was very rude saying that I have to go to pick it up and hang up on me, I call the second time an he yelled at me saying that "I already told you, you have to come and pick it up! " At the next day I went to the front desk and ask for what I need and the same person zero professional was arguing with someone on his personal phone, he didn't pay attention for what I need, I feel the person very agressive

The room was great but small. Having to pay to have a refrigerator was a new concept to me. Having to have our room keys reprogrammed every day was annoying. Most of the people at the front desk were great. One of them, though kept saying that the reason that our keys needed to be re-coded. None of the others blamed us. The last day that we were there that employee actually told us that this situation was so common that they were going to change the whole system at their location

Terrible front desk

Many issues I encountered at this hotel. 1) Each night the hotel keys were reset for no apparent reason after having a 5 day stay. Finally someone at the desk one night knew how to program the key properly 2) Room was very dirty/dated. The floor is clearly not clean as the bottom of my feet were black. They did not provide many towels. Only small ones and when I did ask for more they gave me crappy ones with stains on them. 3) I asked for a garbage can twice which they agreed would be delivered to room. I never received it. 4) Sink would not drain. The water went down the drain very very slowly. Basically you end with a sink full of dirty water. 5) It smelt like chemicals in the room. 6) I spent a lot of money on this hotel and to have simple things not working or dirty and not up to par is outrageous.

The check in was smooth, but once i got into the room there were no towels, the toilet was diry (showed a photo at the front) asked for a new room. The second room didnt have towels so i had to walk down from the 3rd floor to the other end of the building to ask for towels. That took awhile. Just not an originized place. They definitely need to improve.

I was very surprised about the lordering of people all around the place, when i looked thia place up it looked nothing like the pictures i was afraid of my car getting broken into . Never again will i ever book here again

Great location with friendly staff, had everything we needed. I would recommend this place for a short stay in SD. Location was close to freeway, had many good restaurants within walking distance.

Property was very dirty with very sketchy people coming in and out at all times. Police were on site right as we arrived to check. Should have taken that as a sign. Roaches throught the property. Doggy area was very sad. Not a single patch of grass. Dirt only.

Busy in the summer. Room was ready early. Appreciate that. Just towels weren’t replaced before I checked in but it was fine. I asked the maids for some. Convenient location.

I enjoyed my stay at this Motel 6 in Chula Vista when I attended San Diego Comic Con. It was great to be right by a train station when I took the train to Comic Con. And it was also great to be right by a McDonald's and other restaurants that are within walking distance from Motel 6. If you're looking for a good hotel to stay at during San Diego Comic Con, I highly recommend this one.

Covinient and close to different transportation options, the building needs to be maintain more frequent as some issues in different rooms were evident as per hosts complaining

Great location for individual using commuter services and restaurants

Basic no-frills room. All very good. McDonalds next door. Lots of amenities. 3 minute walk to San Diego Blue-Line Trolley. Can get to Imperial Beach and the Airport using trolley and bus. Pay cash for the bus, credit card for trolley. All very, very good. This location is about half-way from Imperial beach and the airport/downtown.

I enjoyed my stay at this Motel 6 in Chula Vista when I attended San Diego Comic Con. It was great to be right by a train station when I took the train to Comic Con. And it was also great to be right by a McDonald's and other restaurants that are within walking distance from Motel 6.
