Nice hotel in a great location. However, I was disappointed that the hotel made us "move out" of the parking lot at 1pm instead of allowing us to stay until 4pm when I had emailed them earlier advising them I wanted to have parking until later the afternoon of check out. I could not find check out time in the room and was advised close to 11am when I called to check that 11am was the check out time. I was surprised to be charged a late check out fee when I checked out at 1115pm. The manager on duty was unfriendly and unhelpful. It was a nice hotel but because of this poor service would not recommend it or stay here again.

Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Clean and convenient for what we wanted. However, we were staying on the top floor and there was no lift. My husband suffers with his knees and it was a little heavy on them having climbing 4 flights of stairs with luggage.

The hotel was lovely with a great bar and restaurant, and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. It is situated right in the centre of Richmond with easy access to all amenities. My only complaints are that there was a lack of hotel parking, and the room needed a bit of tlc (the ceiling and carpet were worn and one of the windows was cracked and broken so you couldn't open it).

Showing some signs of wear but still plenty of evidence of its former glory days, rooms were comfortable and staff efficient. Breakfast choice was good and cooked food tasty. The toaster is a learning challenge! Central location can make parking another challenge but readily available free discs allow a 2 hour Market Place stay for loading/unloading. The castle and riverside are close by, accessed by steep slopes.

The staff at the Kings Head is outstanding! The hotel is in a great location. We had a wonderful room that has a very spacious bathroom (it was the Richmond room). The mattress and pillows could do with a replacement. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and you don’t need to leave to hotel for great fish and chips. The seating area in the lobby and bar was very welcoming and relaxing.

Very pleasant stay in the center of a charming market town with many independent shops with the castle and the river to explore. The staff were excellent and made us very welcome. We found everything that you could possibly want in our rooms - quality bedding, Nespresso coffee machine, high quality toiletries, and many other nice touches. Breakfast was excellent. There was good parking at the rear (payable).

Excellent stay. Never been disappointed with a stay at the Kings Head. Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast is fresh and cooked to your taste. This is a dog friendly hotel. Our dogs are always made welcome. Although it is a dog friendly establishment, it is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Well done to the Kings Head.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at The Kings Head, the room was clean and very comfortable, breakfast was very good and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We'd opted for a superior room as it was our anniversary. Had a lovely view of the market square. Good sized room and lovely toiletries and tea & coffee facilities (could have done with more herbal tea options, but we'd brought our own just in case.) Nice touch to be able to get fresh milk for drinks, rather than the milk sachets.. Staff friendly and helpful eg looked up the local cinema times for us. Thanks

Lovely room, great service, tasty breakfast, gorgeous roll top bath. Only slight downside was the noise from the street below throughout the night. I think the glass was only singly glazed (possibly if it’s a listed building then it is the only option!) and the taxi rank opposite attracted people from other bars until around 1.30am which disturbed our sleep slightly, then there was a delivery at around 4am which woke us again. Overall it was a lovely stay and the slight sleep disturbance didn’t detract from it, we would return.

Fab location in a fab place. Hotel staff were really welcoming and friendly.. The room we had was massive and really well decorated, comfy and well catered for. The toiletries were really high quality. I would have given a five stars except we stayed during the storm and we had a force 9 gale bowing through our room. We had a great room overlooking the marketplace but sadly these are only single glazed windows so we could hear everything outside and it made theroom very cold. It certaintly wouldnt stop me from going back as great hotel

Me and my partner stayed here for a peaceful night away but sadly it wasn't as we'd expect, be aware the hotel is directly next to a couple of bars/club one of which had very loud music playing late into the night outside, understandably not due to fault of the hotel but this meant the room had bass vibrating through it and loud shouting until late on. Also the pictures of which described the room we booked are different to which we was allocated booking the deluxe double room but the room we got wasn't like this it matched up with pictures from the classic double room which is listed

We've stayed here many times, but we were surprised by the aloof staff and poor service. We won't be staying again. Gone are the happy waiters and friendly faces, and getting a greeting felt like a chore. We were hugely disappointed by our stay. What happened to this place??

It was a lovely hotel which was spoilt by our initial attempt to check in. It was 2:30 and officially check in wasn’t until 3: The receptionist was quite rude and said there was no way we could check in into 3. There was no charm about it, no suggestions of a coffee in the lounge or an offer of looking after our bags. It left a nasty taste in our mouths and we went out for the next 2 hours. It put us off eating in the establishment that evening. Having said that our second attempt at check in was great and all other staff were friendly and helpful. Also the Kings Head website states free parking but they charge £15

Showing some signs of wear but still plenty of evidence of its former glory days, rooms were comfortable and staff efficient. Breakfast choice was good and cooked food tasty. The toaster is a learning challenge! Central location can make parking another challenge but readily available free discs allow a 2 hour Market Place stay for loading/unloading. The castle and riverside are close by, accessed by steep slopes.

We had a great time, the hotel was in the middle of Richmond so there was no need to use the car to get around. We picked the kings head because of the good reviews and it definitely lived up to its good reputation. Thanks for a great mini break 👍

Lovely room, great service, tasty breakfast, gorgeous roll top bath. Only slight downside was the noise from the street below throughout the night. I think the glass was only singly glazed (possibly if it’s a listed building then it is the only option!) and the taxi rank opposite attracted people from other bars until around 1.30am which disturbed our sleep slightly, then there was a delivery at around 4am which woke us again. Overall it was a lovely stay and the slight sleep disturbance didn’t detract from it, we would return.

The staff at the Kings Head is outstanding! The hotel is in a great location. We had a wonderful room that has a very spacious bathroom (it was the Richmond room). The mattress and pillows could do with a replacement. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and you don’t need to leave to hotel for great fish and chips. The seating area in the lobby and bar was very welcoming and relaxing.

A really lovely, friendly hotel in the centre of Richmond. Lots of pubs, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Great breakfast. Can't fault the place.

Don’t be fooled by the photos of the rooms. Our room was far from the images given. When it was room time, we could only see half of the telly because the curtains covered the other half. Couldn’t move the telly or curtains. The food was passable in the main with several items never available from the menu. I had fish and chips one evening from the menu but should have been supplied with a 4lb club hammer to break thru the batter..I have NEVER had batter so hard! I jest not. The accompanying onions rings were of the same ilk. I mentioned it to the staff and “the chef(?)” will be spoken to. Breakfast, however was very good. Minor point but important…I went use the salt cellar, it was empty. Took another from another table, empty. Took a third, empty. Very sad/disappointing. The weather was great, trips out great.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, before dropping our son off at Catterick to join the Army. Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere in the bar and restaurant and beautiful comfortable rooms. Nothing to be negative about, really comfortable beds, and amazing food. Breakfast was delicious, we dined in the hotel restaurant on the Saturday evening which was fantastic, really delicious homecooked style food. We will be back when we come up for his passing out parades. The town is lovely - very typical Yorkshire with nice little shops and lots of eateries. Thank you for a wonderful stay

What a great hotel in a great location. Staff were excellent, We stayed in a superior double and it didn't disappoint. Breakfast was cooked to order and the Sunday roast was brilliant. Well worth a visit,

Room was good but a bit cramped because it was a single. But full marks for location and breakfast. Service started at 7am, which is important for a business trip, and there was fresh fruit salad and a tasty vegan option.

The staff were accommodating and friendly. Parts of the building appeared to be tired could do with a refresh. Early morning deliveries to neighbouring store at 6am are noisy. So would request a quieter room at the back of the hotel.

Overall a very comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very good although the opaque glass meant there was no view from the room. The cost of the stay and bar purchases represented good value for money and we would definitely stay here again.

The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was freshly cooked with a good choice and was a great start to the day. The hotel’s central location is perfect for exploring Richmond and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
