Easy friendly check in but once left the actual bar area the building in very poor condition, carpets on stairs/corridors dirty , paintwork on wall terrible. Room 11 which was ours very dark and dreary , ceilings covered in water stains and loose plaster , paint work chipped everywhere, bathroom very dated and dark and basic. Only mirror available was in the bathroom where obviously there's no power point , luckily I had a small hand mirror in my bag . Four poster bed had comfy mattress but every time you moved it creaked ! Bed linen very clean which was the only thing that kept us from leaving straight away . Car Park only had room for around 6 cars and full when we got there so had to find long stay car park. Can't fault the staff they were friendly. Very very disappointing definitely way over priced at £130 for one night .

Very hospitable staff, food and beer were excellent. Excellent location. Parking was a bit tight, and a bit tortuous to the rooms, but overall it was pretty much as expected, and an enjoyable stay.

Good area and the pub looked nice when I booked,hardly any parking,slow disjointed service overall especially checking in and evening meal ordering (breakfast was a lot better) Rooms are very dated and not in a very good condition my room was on a slight slant and next to the high street,was woken up at 6am with the shops outside receiving deliveries then the obvious noise from staying above a pub you hear every noise.

We have stayed here many times as a stop over to the north east. Pub has been refurbished since our last stay and our room comfortable with all we needed for an overnight stay. Unfortunately this time breakfast wasnt included in our stay now costs £12.95 which we thought was a bit steep for a pub so did not have breakfast there. Had a nice evening meal in the pub though lots of choice. Parking very limited.

This is a wonderful traditional inn located within a nice, quiet, walkable village. Wi-Fi and cable television are unreliable, but that's what you get when you are out in the countryside. The dinner we had, along with the breakfast, was wonderful, and we loved taking a stroll near the river and the waterfalls.

Breakfast was from 8 am to 10 am booked breakfast at 9.30 am. When we ordered english breakfast items were unavailable because they ran out of them! The second breakfast was booked for 9.30 am we could not get a seat in th dining room as all tables were being used even after booking our table time! We were made to go down stairs in the bar and have our breakfast down there. Once again we had English breakfast with items unavailable again! No cups left to get a cup of tea as they were all used upstairs had to use a very small coffee cup to use for tea! This is not good enough from this hotel. As a Disabled War pensioner this is very disappointing from this hotel staff!

Our room was on top floor, it was really big! All 3 beds were very comfy, we slept like in the clouds. The room had plenty of tea/ coffee/ biscuits etc. The bathroom was large too. The building had things like chipped paint and dust in staircase etc, but building is a few hundred years old, so some things are hard to modernise. But we had a lovely stay. It was fun flicking through old books in our room. All staff were great. The evening sharing platter in pub downstairs was delicious, as well as breakfast in a lovely Parrot room. Thank you so much!

Arrived at the bar at 2.50 and asked if the room was ready to bb told we will call you when it’s ready so we had a drink at the bar . After 3 we asked another member of staff who checked us in straight away . The room was very dusty so we told them they sent someone to clean it Mold in wardrobe , toilet dripping all night . Breakfast was just just ok , some of it cold . Overall very tired rooms . Certainly not worth £140 a night

Nice town for a stop on the coast to coast trail. It's too bad we didn't take a full rest day here as it's the biggest town on the trail. Accommodations were wonderful and staff was welcoming as we were dripping wet on arrival. Also the 2 twin beds were glorious and probably new (most are springs poking your body at the different stops). The breakfast avocado/eggs were delicious! The room was very cozy. Highly recommend

Excellent central location in Richmond. Good price for a two room suite (one room with double bed, another with two singles) and also the fact that breakfast was included in the price.

A great last minute overnight trip here. The room was lovely, quaint and cosy. We ate dinner in the pub and cannot fault the food. I had lasagne and my husband had gammon. Breakfast was great. Cereal, toast, juice and hot drinks available to help yourself to and then order hot food. I had eggs bennedict and my husband had a full English. Great value for money and would definitely recommend!

Very friendly old, centrally located in Richmond coaching inn. The staff cannot be faulted for their service and welcome. Wonderful pillows and perfectly poached eggs for breakfast.

Accommodations were wonderful and staff was welcoming as we were dripping wet on arrival. The staff were very welcoming and gracious hosts. Especially Michelle, Demi, Elli, and some of the kitchen staff whose names I didn’t catch. Richmond is a beautiful town, the best thing about it being the people.

Very friendly old, centrally located in Richmond coaching inn. The staff cannot be faulted for their service and welcome. Wonderful pillows and perfectly poached eggs for breakfast.

Very hospitable staff, food and beer were excellent. Excellent location. Parking was a bit tight, and a bit tortuous to the rooms, but overall it was pretty much as expected, and an enjoyable stay.

Good area and the pub looked nice when I booked,hardly any parking,slow disjointed service overall especially checking in and evening meal ordering (breakfast was a lot better) Rooms are very dated and not in a very good condition my room was on a slight slant and next to the high street,was woken up at 6am with the shops outside receiving deliveries then the obvious noise from staying above a pub you hear every noise.

Excellent central location in Richmond. Good price for a two room suite (one room with double bed, another with two singles) and also the fact that breakfast was included in the price.

This is a wonderful traditional inn located within a nice, quiet, walkable village. Wi-Fi and cable television are unreliable, but that's what you get when you are out in the countryside. The dinner we had, along with the breakfast, was wonderful, and we loved taking a stroll near the river and the waterfalls.

Bedroom small but very comfortable bed - but despite providing a hairdryer there was no mirror in the bedroom! Breakfast was disappointing and not worth the £12.95 - apart from the full English just mini cereal packets - no fruit, yoghurt or muesli offered and they wouldn’t do a cheese omelette when asked.

We have stayed here many times as a stop over to the north east. Pub has been refurbished since our last stay and our room comfortable with all we needed for an overnight stay. Unfortunately this time breakfast wasnt included in our stay now costs £12.95 which we thought was a bit steep for a pub so did not have breakfast there. Had a nice evening meal in the pub though lots of choice. Parking very limited.

A great last minute overnight trip here. The room was lovely, quaint and cosy. We ate dinner in the pub and cannot fault the food. I had lasagne and my husband had gammon. Breakfast was great. Cereal, toast, juice and hot drinks available to help yourself to and then order hot food. I had eggs bennedict and my husband had a full English. Great value for money and would definitely recommend!

The staff was lovely but the room was dirty and dusty the window didn't close. We booked in for evening meal and the service was unbelievable slow most of evening spent waiting for our meal

Breakfast was from 8 am to 10 am booked breakfast at 9.30 am. When we ordered english breakfast items were unavailable because they ran out of them! The second breakfast was booked for 9.30 am we could not get a seat in th dining room as all tables were being used even after booking our table time! We were made to go down stairs in the bar and have our breakfast down there. Once again we had English breakfast with items unavailable again! No cups left to get a cup of tea as they were all used upstairs had to use a very small coffee cup to use for tea! This is not good enough from this hotel. As a Disabled War pensioner this is very disappointing from this hotel staff!

Absolutely lovely hotel and beautiful clean well maintained room. All those extra touches like specialty teas and coffees and biscuits in the room and even top range soaps from Bradley all add up nake for a lovely stay. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and the lunch we had on arrival was top notch. Richmond is a lovely town with a lot to do and some excellent circular walks around the area. Will certainly stop here again.

A lovely stay in this beautiful old pub/hotel. Perfect location for bars and restaurants. Staff very warm and friendly. I had the single room for a one night stay visiting my son at Catterick. The room was spotless. Very comfortable single bed, gorgeous bathroom with products and well stocked tea and coffee (very important and usually lacking in hotel rooms!). Don’t forget an eye mask if you are a sensitive sleeper though as there’s a small green flashing light on the ceiling!
