Great stay for a convention. Plenty of space and places to enjoy the property. Great rooms. Only complaint was the pipes are very loud with hot water showers. The spa was incredible.

Let's begin with parking... By far too expensive, rather self parking or valet! You will pay $45 per day valet unless, youre a veteran or handicapped... Self parking $32 per day, way to steep to even self park (park the car yourself)! Moving along, the hotel is actually pretty great and in a great area. Family friendly and also an enormous golf course. Small arcade inside, fitness room, and of course pool, basketball, tennis, and beach volleyball. Alongside, pickleball and small fishing dock... Now, theres complaints about upgrading or outdating. Of course, this is not an issue with the lobby, dinner, or bar area. In other words the main area of the hotel. Although, lets keep in mind that the founder and operator is Mr. Rosen an old fashioned guy that started this collection of hotels back in 1974. So yes its going to give you the old fashion classy feeling inside of the rooms. In conclusion, even after all that has been said. I'd give this hotel an A-. Solely because of parking prices 🙄. Overall you and your family will enjoy this hotel and the late night open market inside of the hotel.

The resort looks the same as it did 20 years ago so it is a time warp but it is exceptionally clean and maintained. For example the rooms and corridors are dark decor dark carpets; the rooms still have bathtubs that you have to climb into to take a shower. There is no evident sustainability, no recycling in the room; and they still use individual packaged bathroom amenities. But the rooms are exceptionally clean, very spacious, with great views. The parking fee of thirty two dollars is normal for Orlando resorts but is glaring here because the room rates are very low. There also is a ten dollar charge to use the gym. This is mainly a convention hotel so the vibe can depend on the groups that day. For example on arrival there were forty guests in front of me in a long line down the lobby, but the Shingle Creek team is prepared for this with a lot of staff and they had the line cleared within just a few minutes. No problem at all but was a shock at first arrival. The food pricing was all reasonable. The value is unbeatable if you don’t need to be in a brand new hotel.

There were bugs all over the counter in the bathroom. It was not possible to sleep beyond 7AM due to the noise outside the room by the cleaning crew. A cleaner even entered the room at 8AM. Do they not know what rooms are busy? Is everyone expected to be up and running (and out) by that time?

The hotel is really close to universal and has plenty of quality restaurants and engaging activities on property. I tried 3 of the restaurants and the service and food was excellent. Unfortunately the rooms feel dated and the AC felt undersized for my corner unit, leaving the room very stuffy. The arcade didn't offer classics or air hockey. The fitness area is well equipped and the 3 pools didn't seem to busy.

Clean and convenient. The A/C system is loud when running and seems to be motion sensed which means if you do not have the fan constantly, loudly running, it gets hot. If you run in the ON, the thermostat keeps running and the room got below 59F when set to 68. The mattress appeared to be older and sagging on 1 side and the pillows were awful

I had a wonderful stay at Risen Shingle Resort. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made my stay very enjoyable. However, I was a bit disappointed with the checkout process. Despite checkout being at 11 AM, I was woken up at 8:30 AM by housekeeping who seemed eager to begin cleaning the room. Additionally, I received a knock at the door at 10:15 AM with an inquiry about the room being ready for cleaning, which made me feel rushed and a bit inconvenienced. I understand the need for housekeeping to prepare for new guests, but it felt like I was being pushed out earlier than necessary. While I truly enjoyed my time at the resort and found everything else wonderful, I feel the checkout timing could be handled more thoughtfully to avoid putting guests in such an uncomfortable position. A little more flexibility would make a big difference!

It's ridiculous to pay for parking in a nearly empty enormous lot far from the actual rooms. Be prepared for a lot of walking. To cars, to pools, to rooms. It's a huge property. Not good, not bad just a lot! The security guard at the front guard house scolded me like I was a child for no reason. He tried to say that I didn't stop. I did. He talked to me condescendingly and it really put a damper on my overall impression of the property. I am always very kind. I am not sure if it's because I drive an old car and he thought I was delivering food and not a hotel guest or if he just had a chip on his shoulder that afternoon. It made me sad. It made my daughter sad to see me talked to like that. We had just had a wonderful time at Disney Springs and that dampened our spirits a bit. Overall, the property is beautiful. The pools, lobby, nature trail, room were all beautifully kept. Not sure if we would return due to the parking situation and the interaction with the security guard.

Check in was atrocious. 5 agents on staff, but line was almost out the door waiting. They have self-parking but only 9 handicap spots in a lot that had over 500 cars in it. Btw the only spot I could get was literally ovet 1/2 mile from front entrance to hotel (I was so angry, I odometered it). The room assigned to my wife(the handicapped guest) was in a wing of the hotel that was another quarter mile walk from the only central bank of elevators in the whole hotel. Ridiculous, impractical and stupid design flaw. The room iiself was nice, but you will note, there are mo pictures of the bathrooms themselves. There is a reason for that. They are old, ugly and worn. Later, upon attempting to access the free wifi for guests, I learned that it will work correctly for android devices, but not iphones. They also have electronic deabolts lock on doors, which, if accidently tripped, the whole hotel staff except engineering do not know how to reset. Last, We were told at checkin that dinner was being served outside at 3 of the resort's restaurants, but when we went down for dinner, we learned that none of them were open for outside dining. Too late to make a reservation elsewhere. This resort needs to start all over from the top down

Very long walk to the room from anywhere else in the hotel. Rude housekeeping - they knocked on my door on checkout day at 8:30 and abruptly said "Get out!" I called the front desk to verify checkout at 11:00 which they confirmed. Spoiled a mornings rest for me.

The hotel itself was fine, but I had a frustrating experience with the valet service. I wasn’t allowed to leave my car in front entrance to check-in, even though the entrance was completely clear and my car wasn’t blocking anything. Instead, I was told to park all the way in the back. It felt like they were penalizing me just because I chose not to use valet. Not a great first impression.

We stay here almost every time we come to Orlando. They have a rental car desk onsite and complimentary busses to universal theme parks. Restaurants on property are good as well. Only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay to use the gym.

This property is immaculate and very clean with pretty much everything you need onsite. However the parking situation isn’t the best. When you’ve been walking around theme parks all day and your legs and feet are burning, the last thing you want to do is hunt for a parking space (that you pay $32 a night for or pay $45 for valet) and walk quite a ways to the property. Either allow overnight guests to park in the closest lot or run a free shuttle 24/7 from the parking lot to the lobby doors or free theme park shuttle service. While I loved this property the parking makes me hesitant to stay again.

Overall wonderful experience! This is our second stay at this property and we will definitely be coming back. Great staff , super clean and comfortable rooms make for a great stay. Short drive all major attractions but far enough to offer a nice escape from the crowds at the end of the day. Hotel has some excellent dining options if you just want to stay in. The only downside is the self-parking which costs $32 a day but don’t let that keep you from staying at this fantastic hotel.

Excellent customer service and facility. We have stayed here a few times and it's our go to place. They have a lot of fun options for families with children including a nice pool and arcade. Their spa is also quite nice. The location is very convenient and located close to Universal Orlando.

Everyone was very polite and kind. There is water with fruit in lobby for guests. Calla Bella was delicious and the maitre'd was exceptional! Bellman held our luggage when our train was delayed. Room was gorgeous and roomy! Pool was fabulous! Only negative, my grandson did not like his $27 hamburger at the grill restaurant.

I recently stayed at this location and was genuinely impressed. The property is beautiful and spacious, with around seven restaurants right on site, offering a lot of variety without ever needing to leave. The pools were stunning, and the views of the golf courses were absolutely spectacular especially at sunset. Everything was spotless and very well maintained, making the whole experience feel first-class. The only downside was the parking fee, which I felt was a bit too expensive. Other than that, everything was outstanding and I would definitely stay here again.

I loved seeing all the available dining options available, as well as the available in-room dining options. I will say that I ordered several meals directly to my room, because of how meals are delivered the hot food, didn't stay that way. Not having a microwave available to reheat food negatively impacted my experience with dining. Maybe if the food was served in heated trays, food may stay warmer longer. I also found that in each instance I was missing something, whether that was soy sauce, or frankly the order was not correct.

Everything was good and you get steps in with parking. From the pool, restaurants, bars all was good. Buy liquor off site if possible because bottles are extra small and overpriced, other than that I’ll be back once a year well worth it.
