The Point Hotel & Suites

I would give the stay an overall 6. The room was nice. It felt like a mini apartment. We had a king room with a balcony. The room was a nice size with a door that closed it off from the living and bathroom area. The bathroom was nice and spacious. It had a small kitchenette with stove, frig, microwave, washer/dryer, and dishes/glasses. We were allowed to check in early with no additional fee. Now, what we didn’t like was there were no food options. The restaurant that was advertised was closed down. They did not offer breakfast of any kind The tiki bar at the pool was closed down. They said they were waiting on someone to get licensing. The pool needed cleaning. They said they cleaned it but we’re thinking the just did it with a net. It needs deep cleaning like draining and cleaned because it was dirty on the bottom. The hit tub had a greenish tint to it. It needs cleaning as well. They offer a pool table but you have to have quarters to use it. The room key was only to open your room door not the exterior doors. So we had to walk to the front to get in the building when we parked on the side. There is construction going on around it and in the area, be prepared to take an alternate route. At checkout, we were credited back the resort fee for the inconveniences. We would stay again but not now. They need to get the fore mentioned fixed and taken care of first.

Available staff were pleasant but understaffed at front desk, no room service was available (last time I was here there was) no vending machines on property, no ice machines on tower floors. This is a nice property and location that could just use a makeover and refresh.

No water to our room the last night. Water preasure the morning we left but lack of hot water.

Love the front staff and will be back again. MINOR issu... nothing is within walking distance and no vending machines in the building. Although there's cafe in the lobby, there is no place to grab a quick snack if cafe is closed.

The property was a little run down. The outdoor doors were all broken and the air conditioning didn’t work in the hallways

A 4pm check-in is later than most places so it was disappointing that our room, not just for us, but many others was not ready until after 5pm. The check-in clerk was super friendly and apologetic. The lobby was bland, hallways to the rooms did not seem to have air conditioning and were muggy with an odd smell. The Starbucks in the lobby was staffed with very unpleasant staff. Honestly, none of the staff was friendly other than the girl who checked us in. Unfortunate. The room was clean, but very bland and sterile. No bath towels were provided, a first in my years of travel. A two king bed room with four registered guests and we were given two bleached stained pool towels in the bathroom. It was almost comical but I guess they were towels… The pool area was nice, clean and had a bar area. This is the only truly positive area at the hotel. Chairs and seating were plentiful, comfortable and nice. Pool was clean, hot tub was good sized and clean. Overall, it was clean, we didn’t hate it but we certainly weren’t impressed. With so many choices in that area, we will not be back to this property.

I have stayed at this property several times. I really like it. I stayed recently for 2 nights. I really enjoy spending time at the very nice pool area. There is a bar/grill on site. Unfortunately, this time, my relaxing time at the pool was ruined by the deafening noise of construction equipment working on the property across from the pool. This was on a week-day so I am sure that it wouldn't be the case on a week-end day.

Expedia offered the filters that were incorrect. Smoking isnt permitted, which was a factor in where we decided to stay! Expedi definitely didn't mention the property was under construction. Nor that the poolside bar and restaurant is not open! Major disappointment!

This property exceeded my expectations. Nice pool area with a bar. Nice breakfast area with Starbucks coffee. (not free but worth it) The room was huge! Will definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed the whirlpool tub. The front desk people were nice & helpful. The negatives are I had no hot water the morning I checked out. The AC was not working in the fitness center & the temps was 95 outside. This was very disappointing as I look forward to enjoying the gym any time I have a hotel stay. The hotel definitely needs some updates. The gym equipment is old & rusted. The appliances in the kitchen are very old.

Property was clean no trash room was updated

Good location but not managed well at all. Filthy. While the public areas look nice, our room was another matter. Vomit stains on bathroom door, baseboards have never been cleaned, dust everywhere. The same trash/debris in our hallway the entire week. No nightstand, had to use a chair for a nightstand. Got stuck in elevator and no one answered the call button. I was finally able to get the door open and take the stairs up. I told the clerk, who simply shrugged his shoulders. (for what it's worth, I am a retired GM for Marriott Hotels).

We have stayed at this property several times over the years, but this will probably be our last. The service is subpar. The rooms are getting dated. Our room had huge stains on the carpet. Nails coming through the carpet along the edges where it joined to the bathroom. The beds are old. The couch was filthy and had alot of stains on it. No water pressure in the shower. Hotel needs some TLC for sure.

There was food on the washing machine and on the side of it. There was a plastic fork there too. Housekeeping needs improving. The room had a food smell when we entered.

Pros: Public area and pool are clean. Cons: Once you get into the halls, you'll notice the walls are banged up, patched up and dirty. Dirty rooms. Charges for housecleaning. No luggage cart. No ice machine. No vending machines. Coffee and water available only during continental breakfast hours. No towels out at the pool. No manager/supervisor in the evenings to help when problems arise. Wait til morning. We prebooked 2 separate stays in one week. One stay was in a suite with a washer/dryer, 2 tv's, two phones. The washer didn't work until a man came up and fixed it. Both tv's never worked. One phone didn't work. The sofa bed had a leftover dirty sheet on it that the front desk told us to put in a bag and set in the hall. Ew! Plus, we had to go down and pick up bedding for the sofa bed and we had to make it up. (Guess we're housekeepers now. I wonder if they will pay us?) If we weren't so tight on time, we would've cancelled our second reservation and found somewhere else to stay. We thought surely the next room would be better that the suite. Wrong! Both the tv and the phone didn't work! The surface areas, doors and baseboards were filthy. It felt like we were staying in a scummy run-down motel. A couple years ago The Point was a well maintained, kind of classy place that we looked forward to staying at when we were in Orlando. With the new management things have gone way downhill. Their replies to reviews aren't personal, they're identical rote answers. Never again.

Room was good. A few things needed to be worked on. After we had slept and was getting ready to leave, we noticed mold stains on the blanket. Notified the desk and apologized and was going to tell housekeeping.

I wasn’t really a fan of this place. I don’t know if it’s the lighting if it’s the dated furniture/curtains. But I questioned the cleanliness. And whatever they clean with mess with my sinuses for a day. The pool area was lovely, not crowded at all the service at the Tiki bar was great. But I personally wouldn’t stay here that’s not my type of place.

The first room had a women’s period pad used on the bathroom counter. The front desk person did not even know where the room was. When we got to the next room the room did not have sheets for the pull out bed. Had to wait for housekeeping to bring sheets up. The TV was smaller than what they advertised. The keys did not operate the outside doors around the building. The parking was extremely inconvenient.

Room was very dirty and smelled of smoke. Cigarette burns in the chairs, dust and hair all over the floor. I was so bad we had to change rooms. Everything is very old and beat up.

Hotel is a bit dated. Older hotel I had a lot of construction around the streets not their fault. Our hotel room was extremely dated. TVs were extremely old but they did work. Did not have HDMI hookups for any entertainment such as Roku or fire stick or even video games. But we stayed there for two nights and we went to universal Orlando and it was perfectly fine for a stay for a theme park. But as a family vacation I would not recommend.

Check it wasn’t great, clearly understaffed. No wifi or TV the first day, no compensation offered. As a VIP, we should have received free drinks and nothing. Room wasn’t the cleanest, clumps of hair all over. Bed and pillows were beyond awful. I was overall very disappointed in our stay, use caution when booking this property.

The hotel offers excellent storage space and a functional kitchenette. The pool area was a great spot to relax while waiting for the room, and the staff, especially Jailene, were incredibly welcoming. The hotel is also a short Uber ride to Universal, making it convenient for theme park visits. The only downside was the proximity of the rooms, which sometimes allowed for noise from neighboring rooms.

Walking in the property looks really good. But upon check-in I was notified that their system was down which is totally understandable it happens sometimes, but their system was down for three days. There was no TV no Wi-Fi no phone which the phone is a safety issue. as for the room upon walking in it looked and smelled great! But there were a lot of things that I started to notice the floors were dirty the microwave was dirty and had crumbs in it. The refrigerator door had crumbs on it also in the handle, there was a light flickering in the kitchen, needs a lot of touchup paint, the caulking on the sink and in the shower needs to be redone. There was no iron in the room and the ironing board has holes on the fabric cover. The clock was unplugged. The luggage rack was all dirty. The parking was a nightmare at night. But the grounds were clean the lobby and pool area were clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The A/C did not work correctly, it was stuck on 75 degrees the entire time. While that is not terribly warm, it was disappointing to not be able to control the temperature especially for sleeping. This is the second time (and last) that this has happened with the AC at The Pointe. They had ceiling fans in both rooms but, the main room's fan did not work. In addition, the TV was mounted so that it faced upwards which was a bit weird and not optimal for viewing. When I moved it to the straight forward position, the cable reception was terrible so, I had to move it back. Overall, based on the fact that this has happened on a previous stay and given the variety of hotels available in the Orlando area, there is no reason to go back....

This room is MASSIVE! Go large, get the suite - worth the extra couple of bucks.

Great area. Little confused when I was told av greater deposit was needed when the paper I signed said a much lower number for 1 to 3 nights. Water pressure was abismal.

At first seemed like newer hotel but furniture in room cheap outdated. Paint on bathroom door was dirty not well taken care of.

the ac didn't work finally changed rooms it didn't work either.

I have stayed here several times before in the past but definitely noticed the difference in service. If you staying long you will have to pay for room service if u want your room cleaned.

I don't even know if I have the energy to explain. The check in process was a disaster. Hotels.com said I paid a deposit yet no one could find a paid deposit. The hotel made a xerox copy of my ID in a back room - definitely sketchy. Anytime I needed anything from the front desk, people from a completely other hotel were manning the desk so couldn't help me. The outdoor food/bar area was not open the entire four days we were there. The front lobby absolutely stunk like a highway rest stop. There was a heavy cigarette smoke smell in the hallway of my room. It was a terrible stay overall and I'd never stay or recommend it again.

Hotel seems to be short staff and there is construction going around the hotel. We needed toilet paper. We was told there was only one person working and you have to come down to the front desk and get it. We needed a dollie for suit case and was told the same thing on the day of leaving. Also, if you had any hotel trash you had to the designated areas to throw your trash away. No room service. Also, there is a poolside bar but it was closed for our whole stay. However, the rooms are nice and they have a full size kitchen. Also upon coming back from a park all day the water was turned off. But it did come on about 30 minutes after we were there. I wish they would have text or email a heads up.

Room was clean, plenty of room, easy access and friendly staff.

Definitely need to better train staff in customer service, problem solving, communication. We had a group and called several times to confirm we could all be close or at least on the same floor. Even confirmed when I checked in that we were all placed together and I advised some would be arriving late. Who ever the Night Shift was on Thursday (woody) was horrible! Did not help our other friends and just put them in any room that happened to already be occupied! Better staff training!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend over Presidents’ Day. We were going to universal. Which is close by. Check in was easy however we were told if we needed anything to call the front desk but the phones don’t work. The next day a front desk agent told me they’re in the process of taking the phones out. That we were to call the hotel themselves. They were sold out and they have a very small parking lot but we Ubered to and from the parks so we don’t use our car. We had a king suite which included a small kitchen, a separate bedroom and bath. It came with a spa like jacuzzi tub separate from a shower which was clean and wonderful to use after a long day at the parks. It was too cold to use the outdoor space. The only negative thing was that Starbucks closed at 10am with breakfast. We would definitely stay here again

I stayed 3D2N and physically notified the front desk that the room phone wasn't working. I also mentioned that there was a constant humming noise from the room beside mine. They said they placed a work order for both to be checked. No updates given by the 2nd afternoon, I went to the front desk again and then I was told that it may take days for the telephone company to check the phone and that they will send someone to check the noise. I checked out already and none of the issues were ever addressed.

We had an unexpected problem with a different hotel stay at a different location. In an emergency type situation I was able to get rooms extremely fast and my family of 13 checked in within 2 hours (this includes carrying luggage for that family up and down 6 flights of stairs) I can not say enough good things about how amazing the staff was at getting us taken care of. Bertha is extremely kind and amazing in every way! She was able to turn a horrible situation into an excellent stay. Made us feel at home, and oh my goodness the hotel was so nice, and as weird as this sounds smelled amazing from the second you open the door to your room lol. Reminded me of honeysuckle

Not recommended. Even staying an entire week, they refused to change our sheets or clean our room even once without paying a separate fee for each type of service each day. Hallway was littered and obviously not vacuumed in weeks. No ice or vending after 8 pm. Despite ads when we booked, they DO NOT OFFER SHUTTLE SERVICE to the parks. Also required an undisclosed deposit of $300 that we had to pull from the vacation budget and won't be refunded for about a week after checkout, which took up the funds we wanted to spend at NASA... still waiting to see how much they might try to keep. But the staff were friendly, the room didn't smell funny, and a short drive to Universal and restaurants.

The hotel and room was clean overall. However, the staff were generally very rude which made the experience underwhelming to say at the least. The manager did apologize for the horrific, uncalled for attitudes of staff, yet the experience shouldn't need to be something guests pay for at any point. The bar also closed much earlier than the pool.

Great one-night stay at The Point! Placing reservation online was great. Checkin, stay and check-out was awesome as well. Clean room; just as described. Highly recommend! Great for visit to Universal which is very close by! Thanks!

Always loved coming here

The parking was probably the worst part due to it being so limited. For a hotel that size, parking should be better. Check-in was quick and easy and I even got into my room around 2:30 when check-in starts at 4. The room was clean and spacious, but the water pressure from the shower head was the absolute worst I’ve ever experienced! I also didn’t like that the bed rolled/moved because sitting upright and leaning back was difficult. Breakfast was not bad and it’s a decent place to stay; however I wouldn’t want to stay here again.

There was a lot of construction I wish they had a bench to sit on outside of the front door to wait for our rides I also would have appreciated a small store in the lobby to purchase drinks we had to drive through all the construction to get a soda or a water Other then that the rooms were comfy and had everything we expected we would need

Wonderful place! Walking distance to universal and tons of amenities !

The front desk personnel were wonderful. The room spacious and comfortable. The only thing I didn’t like was that the French toast I ordered and ate in the cafe was cold. Everything else was great

If you do stay here (which I would advise against) Do NOT get the breakfast package. I spent $90 to get two disgusting breakfast buffets that were scrambled eggs and sausage gravy. No fruit, no yogurt, no bacon or sausage, no other options but greasy bad food. The night we checked in the front desk told us breakfast was served til 11, but weekdays it’s 10. So they charged us for four days of breakfast that we couldn’t use half of them due to their “breakfast hours” We went down at 10:15 and the counter person said they were closed and couldn’t be bothered to accommodate us in any way. We were starving after traveling and coming in late, and it was a really bad way to start a vacation. You guys should figure out if you want to be a hotel or a condo and address the business model accordingly.

The property was good. Only thing i booked an executive suite but I got a regular and the room smell like smoke

Great to see security guard in the evenings and the hotel is making sure there are no wild or loud parties taking place on the property. Beds were comfortable and had good amenities such as in unit washer dryer, full kitchen. No restaurant on site which is ok since this is Orlando- restaurants everywhere. Overall good stay.

For the price and how close this property is to universal and Disney is pretty good. The rooms were clean and big and the pool and bar a average size. I just didn't like how the pool was full of leaves and breakfast is very limited but the coffee is good.

No coffee pot. Its coffee pods. only give you 2 for entire stay and it was dirty. Only gave you a half a roll of paper towels and no kitchen towels or kitchen wash clothes. No bathing wash cloths. Freezer doesnt work. Only have 2 luggage carts for huge complex. Breakfast was included was breakfast sandwich that was microwaved that it was crunchy and not edible hash brown was cold.
