Candlewood Suites - Topeka West by IHG

My stay with Candlewood suites Topeka west was excellent. Pleasant clean smell when I entered The lobby. customer service was polite and courteous always greeted you with kind words whether you were entering or leaving. my room was clean the bed was comfortable the only downfall I would have to say was the bathtub was stained I just placed a towel down to stand on before I took a shower . The key card never worked on the first try I had to wait patiently and try three or four times before the door would unlocked eventually I had to get the key card replaced. My stay there was eight days I was so glad that they had a fitness room equipment was great . I would definitely stay again.😊

I think it should be noted on the website that this place is under major construction. Major construction.

Kitchen, laundry access, great customer service @ front desk‼️

This property was fine for what we needed, but it wasn’t great. We were in Topeka for a week and a half while we put my father in law in a hospice facility from the local hospital. This place was a good price and had a kitchenette which was convenient for a long stay. However it was not clean, the walls and carpets are in disrepair with bad patch jobs. The fourth floor hallway smelled SO BAD we almost gagged and would only use the stairs in the far side of the hallway away from the elevator when possible. Our room - which this is an extended stay hotel - only had one small dresser 2 ft wide with 3 drawers so not adequate storage for clothing for a week or more. The fridge seal was broken and did not close all the way. Towels had stains. There was an old chip bag under my bed that was never cleaned. Staff was friendly when they were around but were not often seen. The laundry was free if you had your own supplies which was nice but the machines were old and they didn’t all work. It was also always messy and was not cleaned often. There are a lot of workers who use this hotel, lots of utility vehicles and trucks. I was there with my husband and if i went down to the gym, or the car or the laundry alone they were always leering and would follow me from room to room and they to hit on me. To the end of the stay i refused to go down stairs alone without my husband. Over all it was fine for what we needed, a budget friendly place to stay near the hospital.

I would stay here again. We appreciate the full kitchen and the furniture in the room.

I was totally impressed with this hotel. I stay frequently in the area and will make this my go to place in the future. Dog friendly, very clean and the rooms had everything anyone could need. I will mention a slight cigarette odor in my room, but not something I could not live with. Excellent overall.

Undergoing remodeling, very close to I-70. Room to room very little noise, outside noise from highway was quite noticeable.

I was just not comfortable overall. Staff was great. Im not use to 2 star hotel.old building remodeling signs all over. Water was off most of day i forst checked in. Didnt affect my stay but linen old looking. Bath towels old dingy . Was on phone with hotsl.com trying to get refund on 2nd day booked. Got the run around saying that the hotel manager had to ok for refund if i wanted to checl out early. Hotel manager said i had to go thru hotel.com. so not wanting to lose my money I stayed. Not a good situation or place to get away. Candlewood suites in topeka. Very low budget.

The property did a renovation an the rooms are nice an clean

Rooms were stuffy with a musty odor. No pool and amenities that were thought to be available weren't. Have had better stays.

Very clean in the room, but the hallways and stairwells not so much. Even the outside area needed attention.

Coffee maker had used coffee in it, coffee vessel had residue, black spots on ceiling above shower looks like mold, kitchen faucet had air in the line so water blasts out, over use of caulk in bathroom to make up for bad installs, not told to start ice maker in freezer, loose faucet connections.

This was our third time to stay here this summer. Great for the price! Clean and spacious.

Courteous and accommodating personnel! Clean and comfortable.

Won’t stay here again. The room was not cleaned properly, the bed was not comfortable, and the curtains were broken so that I had to clip them shut with hangers. A lot of noise throughout the night.

My room was clean, spacious, economical, allowed dogs, and best of all the bed was SO comfortable!! Hopefully all locations are consistent because Im driving from CO to FL and I want to stay in other Candlewoids along the way 🙂

My shower did not work in my room and the tub would not drain. The bed was comfortable, but there were loud trucks in the parking lot until midnight revving their engines. Then people rolling stuff up and down the hall until 2AM. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staff were extremely nice and helpful - top notch front desk. Hotel is old, rundown and needs to be renovated. When repairs were done they were poor. Loose fixtures, holes in walls that were repaired were shoddy. Beds uncomfortable. Back door left propped open. Didn’t feel safe. Booked 2 nights but left after 1.

Amazing service from Kimberly!! She is amazing and deserves a raise ASAP!! Superb customer service and made me feel so welcome. Excellent hotel. I think this is my new favorite place to stay when I’m traveling through Topeka.

I love the property it had great amenities a kitchenette pots pan etc what we didnt have in the room we were able to contact the front desk., it is family oriented. Great place to stay when traveling with your family. However during my stay my room was only cleaned once per my request. Also as it relates to transportation the front desk is not knowledgeable i would suggest to anyone staying there to rent your own vehicle. Overall its a great hotel i would recommend it

I wish I got the managers name but she was amazing. I did two bookings to stay for my mother’s funeral. I was not thinking clearly and did two separate bookings. I booked a double bed the first night and single the second night. So I didn’t have to worry about checking out and checking back in around my mother’s funeral the manager made sure we could stay in the same room all weekend. I really appreciate her making a hard time easier.
