The air conditioning was not on in our room 210. The room was hot and the air conditioner had a loud noise while running. The breakfast area was hot as well as the hallways. Staff was friendly. No elevator in this 2 story hotel. Beds were decent. The price was cheap but you get what you pay for. We will not stay here again.

This super 8 has had a facelift. As far as super 8 stays this one is decently clean due to updated features but still could use some work. The pool is non working and drained. Breakfast was just waffles and cereal. Overall stay was 6/10. Parking lot is well lit and area surrounding is great. Gas station in walking distance.

The staff must live next to our room as we could smell food cooking. Just kind of strange. NO ELEVATOR had elderly sister with me and it was hard to get up and down with luggage.

My room was clean and everything was in order. Decor and amenities are nice and up-to-date. The staff was helpful and friendly. They are motorcycle friendly, ensuring close parking and room availability where you can keep an eye on your motorcycle from your room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Purchased this reservation months ago. Said it had a pool. Pool was out of order and would not let us out of out reservation. Kids were super bummed. poop dried up in the bathroom. Outside door did not lock. Was a terrible experience overall.

Fine budget hotel. There is no working pool, as others mentioned. There’s a neighborhood for walking our dogs that was convenient. There was no hot water at the sink but the shower was ok.

it was absolutely disgusting and dirty , it was my first time at super 8 I was very excited considering I got a suite with a tub and there was dust in the tub dead tiny ants the floor was also dirty and so was the bathroom the only good thing was the bed nothing else

Very friendly and helpful staff, every one of them. Very clean and well equipped room. Convenient location for visiting Ankeny and Polk City. Clean parking area, flowers around the bullding. A variety of offerings for breakfast.

Room was over all unpleasant. Dirty and needs updating. We got to our hotel late after a concert and did online check in which was apparently for no reason because when we got there we had to do the entire process over again. Entering the hallway of our room, it had a gross smell and was extremely hot and muggy feeling which carried into the room(took a long time to cool off) The aircondioner looked disgusting like mold spots or dirt over the vents. Then when trying to shower quickly after a long hot day, we see the bathroom was not cleaned very well. The shower had gross dirt and stains throughout it, we also couldn't even get the shower to turn on. Then when trying to go to sleep the smoke detector began going off at 12 am, my husband had to slience it more than once.If we hadn't been traveling with our 9 year old who was beyond exhausted we would have left to find a different hotel. We will not return to this hotel.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was was okay though disappointed with the coffee as it seemed instant, and there was no water but tap water offered. The sausage gravy and sausage was a nice gesture though eggs (even hard boiled) would have been nice. People were enjoying the waffles and the juice. The room was an accessible room. The shower was accessible, however, though we were able to get around in the room, carpet isn't truly an accessible item for people in wheelchairs. This isnt unique to this hotel, most hotels' accessible rooms have carpet. Makes us laugh every time. The AC unit was inconsistent and the room felt damp all night. When we returned from breakfast the room seemed damp. We couldn't regulate very well. The shower sprayed nice and had hot water, and the room/hotel was quiet.

When I stayed, it was on a Friday evening. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep due to constant doors opening and shutting with talking in hallways after 11pm all the way into 4am. For the price I paid I should have just went to a hotel 6 saved myself $100, atleast then I would of known what I was getting into. Too bad because I've staid at some really nice wyndhams in the past!

Room was hot/ac was off when we got in our room and it was August. I couldn't tell if the tub was dirty or just worn out. Bed was hard. Breakfast was below par but the staff was very friendly.

We were placed in a room where there was dirty underwear on the bathroom floor. We tried to reach the desk to alert them to it but got no response. We had a function we had to go to and did not get back to our room until 3 am. No staff around again at that time. No staff in morning to talk to when checked out. We used our own blankets as we were unsure if we had clean sheets even. Hair in the tub when one of us went to shower Unclean and no staff to assist us to get a clean room

This is a non-smoking hotel. The first room we were put in as soon as we open the door had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk and was immediately moved to another room. It was extremely clean, very comfortable and was easy to navigate. The hotel staff called 10 minutes later to check on how things were. All of the staff I encountered were extremely polite and courteous. The bed was comfortable. I was a half mile from the interstate and could not hear any noises in the room. The hotel was very quiet through the night and there was quite a few guests in the building. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The food was fresh and hot. Checkout was easy. I would definitely stay there again. It was close to several restaurants and easy access to the interstate. Their staff should get absolute kudos for their hospitality and remedying of fixing things.

I have stayed at this location in the past and recognized the updates. However, there is a shortage of staff (understandable!) and we were not informed of this. Getting our own towels each day was not a big deal. My frustration is the higher charge from what I booked on Hotels.com. The difference was about 40% higher! I intend to contact the motel....

worked well again to stay here while in the area for another family event. close to the interstate, so no problem getting back on the road when I needed to. nice having a convenience store nearby, and a sandwich place when I needed to look for the evening meal.

This super 8 has had a facelift. As far as super 8 stays this one is decently clean due to updated features but still could use some work. The pool is non working and drained. Breakfast was just waffles and cereal. Overall stay was 6/10. Parking lot is well lit and area surrounding is great. Gas station in walking distance.

We came late as we spent the day at Adventureland and lady was very friendly and accommodating. She gave us extra blankets and even extra towels as our room didn’t have enough. It was very quiet, had an odor in the hallways but otherwise not in the room. Our room was set to 74 when we got in there and took forever to cool down, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. We noticed on our bank statement the next morning she had charged us for the room when we had already paid third party via hotels.com, she didn’t understand first but then quickly refunded us. Breakfast was mediocre but plentiful. Belgian waffle maker, bagels, cereal, fruit. The kids enjoyed it. Juice and coffee as well. Only had green tea which was a letdown but def not a big deal. The bathroom was decently cleaned, however we did notice hairs in the shower which we cleaned out before bathing. We would probably stay again if needed to as was in a decent area and not too expensive. Everyone was friendly!

The female at the front desk was very friendly. The hallway reeked of cigarettes but my room did not. The rooms are in good condition but dated. The free breakfast selection was limited. There was no fruit and only green tea.

Room was hot/ac was off when we got in our room and it was August. I couldn't tell if the tub was dirty or just worn out. Bed was hard. Breakfast was below par but the staff was very friendly.

The breakfast was amazing. The room was nice. Don’t bring too much luggage just there’s no elevator only stairs. It’s a good place to stay for a night or two but nothing you’re gonna stay for a while. Rooms are clean. The amenities were kind of sad they made mine and my boyfriend’s hair, itchy, and greasy, so my suggestion would be to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The showers were really nice water, pressure and heat. The staff was usually never at the desk, but it wasn’t too hard to get a hold of them.

me and my friend drove a verrryytyyy long time to stay in iowa and this motel was actually very nice. i’ll be honest i had low expectations but it def raised the bar for me. the staff were sooooo nice and sooooo helpful. our room was very clean and cozy. the tv had netflix and prime which was nice to log into and watch our shows. breakfast was super good and they were constantly bringing fresh hot food out. my only complaint was that the vending machine exclusively took cash. no tap to pay there. but that’s such a non issue. i will definitely consider this motel again for our next trip out here

The check in was quick and easy. Helpful is, having a person interested in making your stay enjoyable. Example is, being asked what floor or area you would like. Decent parking, decent breakfast. Feel it's worth the overnight for the price.

Booked as 2 queens beds on hotels.com. Definitely not queen beds - they are double beds. Asked at desk and told that’s all they have. Don’t advertise queen sized bed when they are not - pretty duplicitous.
