Ideally located for eating out and sea front strolls. Basic hotel , easy parking, good breakfast however the housekeeping in the rooms could be improved especially in the bathrooms, toilet brush disgraceful !! . Blinds also thick in dust and tv unwatchable as signal kept going.

We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 12. Hotel was 'fine'. Nothing spectacular, fulfilled its needs as a bed to stay at night. Hotel is un-staffed in terms of reception, parking isn't free as stated (£2.50 per day, permits purchased in advance), living room area was nice, however, the honesty bar was empty for the whole stay and genuinely the information within the hotel is outdated (Referring to places to visit which closed in 2015). Email communication was none-existent and went unanswered. Breakfast was fine.

Problems with a parking space. Misunderstanding of the system with breakfast. There is no drinking water in the room. If any drink is left cold in the evening, it will be hot in the morning. The lack of a refrigerator, and the heat, are definitely tests. The room is hot, there is a poorly working fan. The shower cabin is not complete. Of the 2 doors, there is only one. Switch water and shower modes, periodically fail. On the positive side: cleanliness and order, cleaning in the rooms. Coffee is very tasty in the room.

A lovely two night stay. In a great location, close to restaurants, pier and beach. Parking is great too. Breakfast is lovely as are the staff. Arrival instructions are very clear. Room was compact, although fine for us.

Everything was self check in. You could make use of a bar in the lounge, but it was empty. Not even a bottle of water. The bed was too small in a tiny room. I almost didn’t fit on the toilet. I would never go there again.

Self check in, when we arrived the main door had a code which we had not been given so i called the number, the gentleman come and opened the door and said checkin is not till 2, my email states 12. He said the room was not ready and come back at 2, gave us the code for the front door and room. When we arrived nothing was said about the resturant or comunal area both had codes so couldnt access them, and wasnt told about breakfast times. No towels in the room. On the second day we discovered the door was not locking, we reported this aswell as not haveing any towels the door lock was fixed within a few hours but still no towels Room smelt of damp, shower area not clean( mold limescale) and push button on tiolet was broken but working

Badeværelset havde synlig skimmelsvamp, afløbet var tilstoppet med sorte hår, og vi fandt gentagne gange hår i sengene. Det mest chokerende var dog brugte underbukser, en sok under sovesofaen og en brun plet i sengen. Det er helt uacceptabelt og viser tydeligt, at værelset ikke var ordentligt rengjort. Jeg kan på ingen måde anbefale dette hotel.

King size bed was 2 old singles pushed together with a wafer thin double quilt which was smaller than the bed. Old flat pillows. Room was freezing cold. No towels. Cold showers with mould all over the tile grout. Won’t book again

I stayed at the Mowbray to see the Sussex Coast and Kent. The hotel proved to be a great choice. My room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I had an easy walk to Eastbourne’s board walk, great local places to eat and a nice building btw.

Roy, I presume the owner, is so rude it’s almost comical. I booked a suite for my son and I, and requested single beds placed as far apart as possible. On arrival, they were 4 inches apart, so we moved one of them to the other side of the room. It was on wheels so took a few seconds. The exposed carpet was filthy so we left the bed where it was in the morning to allow them to give it a rare vacuuming. Roy actually phoned me after we’d left to remonstrate..he was almost apoplectic that we had dared to move a bed! I’d like to know what award the ‘award winning breakfast’ has won? Maybe the most anaemic and unappealing sausage? Or perhaps an award for cramming the most tables in to a tiny basement breakfast room? To be fair I’ve had worst breakfasts but also many far better The hotel is tired and dated but the owner is incredible..I’m still feeling a bit stunned by his tirade

Das Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig. Wir hatten Schimmel im Bad, dreckige und kaputte Fensterläden, fleckige Bettwäsche.... Ich würde das Hotel nicht empfehlen. Wir haben dort nicht übernachtet und sind sofort abgereist! Hier hätten wir mit zwei Kindern nicht eine Nacht verbringen wollen. Der Besitzer war aber sehr freundlich und bemüht. Da unsere Buchung nicht stornierbar war, konnten wir uns mit dem Besitzer und Expedia auf eine 50% Rückerstattung der Kosten einigen.

Everything in the room was very old and not very clean. The towels had holes in them. The bathroom and shower were very narrow and difficult to move around in for two petite women. The shower pressure was very low, the toilet was poorly designed and set up. There was noone at reception whenever we were at the property. One of the windows could not be opened, which made our top level room very hot and stuffy! It was not a 4 star experience as labeled in Expedia.

The stay was very good. The room was nice. I like the fact there are codes on the doors rather than having to worry about a key. Only minor issue is that the WiFi didn’t work.

It was my 2nd stay in Mowbray. Very friendly and lovely hotel. I think I booked last available room, small single bed one. Even though it was very small, it was furnished in a way it was very convenient and comfortable for my short stay. Large windows give a spacey feeling. Small en-suite bathroom could use a little bit of renovation but everything was in working order so no issues there. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Great location, 3 minutes from the sea, 10 minutes walk from the train station

The stay was very good. The room was nice. I like the fact there are codes on the doors rather than having to worry about a key. Only minor issue is that the WiFi didn’t work.

We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 12. Hotel was 'fine'. Nothing spectacular, fulfilled its needs as a bed to stay at night. Hotel is un-staffed in terms of reception, parking isn't free as stated (£2.50 per day, permits purchased in advance), living room area was nice, however, the honesty bar was empty for the whole stay and genuinely the information within the hotel is outdated (Referring to places to visit which closed in 2015). Email communication was none-existent and went unanswered. Breakfast was fine.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were exceptional and couldn’t be more obliging and helpful. We were even able to grab a shower before we left for the long journey home. 5 stars!

Roy, I presume the owner, is so rude it’s almost comical. I booked a suite for my son and I, and requested single beds placed as far apart as possible. On arrival, they were 4 inches apart, so we moved one of them to the other side of the room. It was on wheels so took a few seconds. The exposed carpet was filthy so we left the bed where it was in the morning to allow them to give it a rare vacuuming. Roy actually phoned me after we’d left to remonstrate..he was almost apoplectic that we had dared to move a bed! I’d like to know what award the ‘award winning breakfast’ has won? Maybe the most anaemic and unappealing sausage? Or perhaps an award for cramming the most tables in to a tiny basement breakfast room? To be fair I’ve had worst breakfasts but also many far better The hotel is tired and dated but the owner is incredible..I’m still feeling a bit stunned by his tirade

I think they have made a great job of providing comfortable conditions for the clients of Mowbury court hotel.....Really good breakfast with a variety of cereal ..pastries ..cooked breakfast and extras...warm friendly staff making sure your stay is home to home

The hotel was under new management and was not being run well. The two young men were trying their best but obviously they had no guidance as to how to run it. There were no towels available until our second day when they gave the two of us one bath towel between us. The breakfast was also not up to standard, especially since the website was still the old owners one and showed delicious, well presented food. This hotel should not still be showing an AA 4 star grading as this is totally misleading. I complained to Expedia on Monday morning but haven’t heard back from you as yet.

Self check in, when we arrived the main door had a code which we had not been given so i called the number, the gentleman come and opened the door and said checkin is not till 2, my email states 12. He said the room was not ready and come back at 2, gave us the code for the front door and room. When we arrived nothing was said about the resturant or comunal area both had codes so couldnt access them, and wasnt told about breakfast times. No towels in the room. On the second day we discovered the door was not locking, we reported this aswell as not haveing any towels the door lock was fixed within a few hours but still no towels Room smelt of damp, shower area not clean( mold limescale) and push button on tiolet was broken but working

It was my 2nd stay in Mowbray. Very friendly and lovely hotel. I think I booked last available room, small single bed one. Even though it was very small, it was furnished in a way it was very convenient and comfortable for my short stay. Large windows give a spacey feeling. Small en-suite bathroom could use a little bit of renovation but everything was in working order so no issues there. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Great location, 3 minutes from the sea, 10 minutes walk from the train station

I stayed at the Mowbray to see the Sussex Coast and Kent. The hotel proved to be a great choice. My room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I had an easy walk to Eastbourne’s board walk, great local places to eat and a nice building btw.

Problems with a parking space. Misunderstanding of the system with breakfast. There is no drinking water in the room. If any drink is left cold in the evening, it will be hot in the morning. The lack of a refrigerator, and the heat, are definitely tests. The room is hot, there is a poorly working fan. The shower cabin is not complete. Of the 2 doors, there is only one. Switch water and shower modes, periodically fail. On the positive side: cleanliness and order, cleaning in the rooms. Coffee is very tasty in the room.

Great b&b option in Eastbourne. Roy was absolutely fantastic with the communication and the room was perfect for a weekend stay. Close to the seafront and very quiet.

Ideally located for eating out and sea front strolls. Basic hotel , easy parking, good breakfast however the housekeeping in the rooms could be improved especially in the bathrooms, toilet brush disgraceful !! . Blinds also thick in dust and tv unwatchable as signal kept going.

Old dated room, no towels on arrival and the bed was two singles stuck together. One mattress and a huge dip where the springs had gone, this was changed after we complained but it was replaced by a bigger mattress so one mattress was higher then the other on a supposed double bed. We also found beer bottle tops on the floor under the dressing table. Definitely not worth the money and we certainly will not be back.

Absolute disaster, stained towels, broken shower, dirty room and no help from the staff. I had to go out and but a towel so i could use it for my stay. The receptionist said they didn’t have enough towels to replace the stained ones and the laundry was only twice a week.

Booked this hotel because of the location. The hotel was very clean staff very pleasant and helpful. We booked breakfast, but found out afterwards that we couldn’t sit down to breakfast until 8.00sm Which for us was a bit late! I guess for most people on holiday, this would be fine? Would stay here again,but in my opinion it is not a **** hotel.
