This was our third visit to the hotel, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The estate is beautiful, with excellent facilities and a convenient location near Lancaster and the university. A truly comfortable and relaxing stay.

Fabulous time Gym for over 16 yrs Pool is lovely and jacuzzi n steam room These are at no extra cost ( take own towels ) towels £1.50 if want use theirs. Lovely staff V quiet surroundings Need a car to get about - first pub 5 mins away and Lancaster 20 mins away. It’s a very quiet area with lots pubs around by car. Take hair conditioner ( shampoo provided ) Take salt pepper , oils etc as nothing provided There is a well equipped kitchen - frozen foods avail £10 ea n great choices n delicious Beds n sofa bed very comfortable White lovely towels Rooms lovely and warm Restaurant on premises offer lunch and dinner ( don’t offer breakfast ) brought own bfast n cooked great in the accommodation. Fast wifi. Great stay , will be back Thanks so much !

Everything was good. Gym small but not crowded, pool empty, sauna and jacuzzi always big plus. Room unbelievable good. Staff brilliant. Cant fault it. 1 issue : cleaners or house keepers need to close windows earlier, as found “few” creepy crawlers in the room. Good there was a hoover on hand, also few mosquitoes… other than that can fault it

We (me and 3 kids) had a wonderful stay and are looking at returning. Great value for money. The pool was a highlight and we used it daily. We were also allowed to use the pool on our day of departure after checking out. Take your own towels to avoid £££ for renting them.

Check in of 4pm and check out of 10am. On a one night stay this gave us 3 hours in total to use the leisure facilities in which the spa wasnt even working. The menu at restaurant was limited due to owners being on holiday (busy summer period). Outside grounds full.of weeds and needs to be maintained better. Will not go back and couldnt recommend.

Property was nice however the leisure centre was very dirty. There were no cleaners during the day. We went both morning and afternoon same condition. Also the hot tub was broken for the whole stay.

A really lovely place to stay in a good location for local areas. Rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The leisure centre facilities are great - you have to book though. WiFi is really good.

The Hotel and grounds were absolutely amazing the pool and Jacuzzi were lovely and so clean. The Hotel food and drinks were brilliant a very good choice the outside studios were lovely just needed a little bit more on room service. But the Hotel and staff were very good the History of the Hall and its building was wonderful. Well worth staying and would definitely visit again

This us the 3rd time we have stayed. We are usually in an appartment in the hall itself and have always had a fantastic time. I was abit disappointed that we weren't staying in the hall this time but as it turned out we still had the best time. We stayed in a 2 bedroom appartment and it was massive. Beautiful inside and modern. It was more peaceful than the hall. The appartment was spotless, the cleaners do such a good job. The grounds are well kept. You feel very safe. The staff helpful and friendly. Lovely clean leisure centre/pool. Cant wait to come back next year whether its in the hall or not.

The room was lovely. Very clean. Every thing you need for your stay was included. I would recommend the restaurant we had two meals there, both delicious and the service was impeccable.

Clearly a lovely building, but most of the rooms are in a separate part of the grounds. The whole thing is quite tacky and really doesn't scream luxury -- the "spa" is much more like a leisure centre. The room was spacious and comfortable, though clearly old-fashioned, and not entirely clean. The service was totally obstinate when we requested a change of dates, but quick to help when we were there. The hotel feels like it could be good for families with young children, but it is unmistakably a resort hotel, not a luxury one.

2 bedroom apartment, room 42, exceptional… and what a size. Great value for money … we were only a family of 4 but sleeps 6, brilliant for anyone with kids. Super clean and beds so comfortable.

The apartment was terrible dirty. There was stains on the sofa , hairs all over the bedding ,dirty sheets, both shower gel holders were empty. Skirting boards were disgusting. Curry stains on the bench. Crisp packets behind the tv. After the travel we just wanted to get settled, so we cleaned the apartment the best we could . As we are not people who normally complain. On the Saturday night we got a txt asking us to rate our stay so far out of 5. We give a 3 because the hall itself was beautiful and we had our evening meal there which was lovely and the staff really kind and helpful. Straight away we got a txt back asking what was wrong. I told her we had photos and she asked if I could send them. She then rang up and apologised telling us we could have a late check out. Then the next morning the head of housekeeping came and he apologised and said they would be in touch with some sort of compensation. We said we were not going to say anything until we left, it was only because they had asked us to rate it. Any how we didn’t use the late check out ,we were all packed and ready to go anyway. It has now been nearly 2 weeks and we have not heard anything from the hall.

It was my 3rd (or 4th?) stay at Thurham Hall and for the first time I was staying in a very nice suite in the main building (as opposed to an apartment). The suite was beautiful and really comfy, but not without small issues. The wall by the door is thin with noisy floorboards on the stairs outside so you can hear everything happening on the stairs. It doesn't make for a great night's sleep (which is a shame as the bed was amazing). The other thing to mention is that there were small steps up and down in the suite. It's fine when you know where they are, but if you aren't paying attention there is every possibility of tripping as they're either tiled or carpeted in the same colour Last thing to say is that the restaurant on site is closed on Tuesdays. And that feels like a real miss when people are staying

The apartment was very large, clean and family friendly. The on-site restaurant was also very nice with a great menu. We would have scored 5 stars but the washing machine did not work, the room had a stale smell and the heating could not be controlled so was either too hot or too cold. Parking was also very limited near our apartment so we were blocked in one morning

Our apartment was on the top floor of the property, no lift so quite a few stairs and as the property is historically old the steps are very uneven. This should have been passed to us when we made the booking, as it would not have been suitable for a lot of people but the apartment was very spacious.

We booked this hotel as the one we stayed in the previous night was awful! This place is awesome! The most friendly staff, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment we booked was huge, well appointed and incredibly comfortable. We will definitely stay here for a longer stay next time we are up this way.

The apartments are great and the staff do friendly. The facilities are also good and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The only challenge we had was no TV for the week. They came to see if they could fix it, but unfortunately they could not. We were also unable to chrome to the TV as not enough bandwidth on the TV.

Average at best. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location but that’s when the wow factor ends. The room was okay and outdated and felt more like a budget apartment with very few amenities and a cold shower. We were awake at 10.30pm by mucus above us and the walls were so thin we were woken up anytime someone walked past our apartment. The room was okay and outdated and felt more like a budget apartment with very few amenities and a cold shower. We were awake at 10.30pm by mucus above us and the walls were so thin we were woken up anytime someone walked past our apartment. We booked a weekend break whilst visiting family & friends nearby prior to Christmas. We arrived on site in the afternoon & were greeted by very friendly reception staff. Our accommodation was lovely - huge lounge/kitchen & a seperate bedroom & bathroom upstairs. We ate at the on site restaurant which was enjoyable. Our main problem was a lack of heat on what was one of the coldest nights of the year! The main radiator in the lounge was not working & all that was on offer to help was a small convector heater. We had to sit with our coats & hats on all eve & the only warm spot was at the top of the staircase! We were given a 2nd convector on the second night which made little difference. We were told nothing could be done till Monday - we were leaving that day! With temperatures below freezing, th e offer of a bottle of wine was little comfort. I would like to visit the resort again to see it in better & warmer weather!

From start to finish an excellent and peaceful stay. The apartments are like mini cottages. Own lovely kitchen, living room, bedroom with the comfiest bed ive ever slept in and i love premier inn beds! Clean, friendly reception, leisure centre and kids park on site, small 'shop' in hall sells immediate groceries and what you need. Note though nothing for babies :-(. Duck pond and all ducks roam free round grounds. We had ground apartment and they all came waddling over to us when we opened the door. Squirrels roaming. Peaceful, old church building, set back in the middle of country but with bus stop access just down road takes you to town for £2! I really have no complaints and cant wait to come back with my husband for a few days in summer.

The whole thing is quite tacky and really doesn't scream luxury -- the "spa" is much more like a leisure centre. We booked this hotel as the one we stayed in the previous night was awful! This place is awesome! The most friendly staff, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment we booked was huge, well appointed and incredibly comfortable. We will definitely stay here for a longer stay next time we are up this way.

We enjoy our stays at Thurnham Hall. There was a problem with hotwater supply to our block, we were kept fully informed, given alternative showering option etc. 'It' happens, we judge it on how its handled, and it was handled well.

We had a great time at Thurnham. We had a studio apartment and arrived to a double bed when we needed twins, due to my mistake in booking through a third party. Reception were brilliant and the staff came to sort that out quickly. The room was very clean, the pool and changing areas were well looked after. Everyone was kind, friendly and very helpful. The Beauty Retreat onsite was excellent. We didn't visit the bar or eat at the Hall but other guests we spoke to were very complimentary. The text messages inviting us to the Saturday night Quiz and reminding us of checkout were a lovely touch. We really appreciated their demeanor and we will definitely return and recommend.

Booked through hotels.com 2 months prior to stay, no where was it advertised that there would be no food available or even a bar open during our stay. There is no where that is walkable from the property either. Was told that frozen meals are available in hotel pantry/shop! A nice enough hotel with a lovely setting. I booked for one night to stay for work in the area. The check in process was Faulty Towers-esque and I was told to wait for two hours before the room would be ready (fair enough, I provided all of my details to the person on reception and they took a card deposit). Two hours later I return to the check in desk and it takes a good 20 minutes for them to get organised and give me my key. Just such a poor service at the front desk. Its a great hotel, but so poorly organised and managed. It could really be a top country hotel if the staff were better trained and more organised.

Everything was top notch apart from the poory lit pathways to the accommodation. In the dark it is very difficult to find where you are going particularly if it is one's first visit. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever.

We stayed here with family of 5 to attend Graduation Ceremony In Lancaster University. The property was excellent, clean and spacious -it deserves 5stars. The area is calm and quiet. We were driving the city and around Lancaster. We have not seen transportation to the resort. So having a car is a must The only negative thing is that the restaurant was closed all the time during our visit but we were prepared and managed to cook and enjoy our stay.

It was my 3rd (or 4th?) stay at Thurham Hall and for the first time I was staying in a very nice suite in the main building (as opposed to an apartment). The suite was beautiful and really comfy, but not without small issues. The wall by the door is thin with noisy floorboards on the stairs outside so you can hear everything happening on the stairs. It doesn't make for a great night's sleep (which is a shame as the bed was amazing). The other thing to mention is that there were small steps up and down in the suite. It's fine when you know where they are, but if you aren't paying attention there is every possibility of tripping as they're either tiled or carpeted in the same colour Last thing to say is that the restaurant on site is closed on Tuesdays. And that feels like a real miss when people are staying

Studio Apartment was great, large space and everything you could need. Lovely place to stay. Our only complaint is about our dinner in The Lemon Tree, staff were friendly and helpful but the size of the portions for the price is shocking. What we had was tasty but my husband had the Cannon of lamb, which consisted of three small bits of lamb with one small potato and i had sea bass which was small with very little veg underneath. We were starving afterwards and had to go back to our studio for a sandwich.

What a find. Self catering accomodation with Hotel facilties. Beatiful old house and our Studio apartent was very spacious and clean with lovely views of the grounds. Had one evening meal in the Lemon Tree restaurant which was excellent. Enjoyed the laid back entertainment in the Hall.

What an amazing place! We stopped off en route south from Scotland and are so glad we found this place. Lovely location about 10 mins from M6. Super peaceful, amazing grounds and walks from the hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff also. Definitely going back!

Absolutely amazing experience, I went for a last minute night away for my birthday. Upon entry, the hosts where great. Interacted with our 3 young children and gave them all sweet bags. The hotel was beautiful. I would recommend this to any families, park was great and so was the accommodation.
