Hostal de la Monja is in the middle of the downtown, across the Cathedral; has a parking space behind the hotel; everything is nearby. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast included doesn’t have many options but is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

When an historic hotel welcomes you with 3 dogs—neither of whom fit in a purse—it’s special and worthy of our appreciation! Our dogs are quiet and well behaved and we were delighted to be able to stay in an atmospheric former convent across from the cathedral and one block from the plaza principal. The pedestrian street offers multiple options for eating and drinking and the parking lot around the corner is walled and gated, accessible only with hotel staff. Thanks to everyone at this gem of a hotel!

The staff was super helpful and beyond friendly. they were very attentive to our family's needs. The hotel is so pretty. We loved it. The beds were comfy, the coffee shop was yummy, it's located right in the center of the plaza. It's safe to walk and shop and eat. We needed an early taxi and they were great about having there on time. We loved it.

Another wonderful overnight with 3 large dogs at Hostal de La Monja. When an historic hotel in the middle of a beautiful city welcomes you with your dogs, it’s special! Add gated, secure parking proximity to numerous dinner options, and places to walk the dogs nearby—it’s close to perfect. There’s a bar downstairs and an included breakfast that we’ve been unable to experience due to the length of our drive on those days. But we like this place so much we’ll likely plan 2 nights next time!

My stay couldn’t have been better. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because there is no elevator and my group included children in strollers. The staff is friendly, accommodating and efficient, and the breakfast offers yummy options. The colonial architecture is beautiful and right outside the doors to the hotel is the cathedral, main plaza, and a blocks and blocks of shops, restaurants, clubs, ice cream shops, etc.

Check in was easy, staff was so helpful and polite. Room was nice and clean. Housekeeping cleaned each day. Free breakfast was included. I had chorizo, beans, and chilaquiles with some coffee. Hotel is surrounded by great food and shops. It has a coffee shop downstairs where you can grab a coffee, sandwich or a sweet bread. Absolutely loved my stay and plan on returning.

Perfect location right in the heart of downtown Durango. Lots of cute coffee shops and the one in the hotel was open until 11 pm. Right across from the cathedral and less than 2 minute walk to plaza de armas. Museums and lots of food options around. Definitely would return and stay here again. Breakfast had limited options but nonetheless it was tasty. Same items served daily with no fruits or pastries.

Everyone in the staff was very kind and helpful. The property was very clean. You’re right in the middle of the city center so you’ve got museums, attractions, restaurants, and stores nearby all at walking distance. I highly recommend staying here.

The breakfast included option is a scam! I was told that it ended with the pandemia, there isn’t a restaurant service or/and kitchen service nor personal! They will make a small pot of coffee if requested and a few cookies but no more than that! I booked there because of past pleasant experiences, though that is definitely in the past, the place is remarkably going downhill. My bed linen and pillow cases were changed only one in an entire week, the bathroom shower tiles, curtains and drapes were disgustingly dirty! I could go on and on, but it would not change my unpleasant experience, Sorry Monja!!!

Es un hotel muy céntrico y bien ubicado. Cómodo y tranquilo. Todo el personal es súper atento y eficiente y nos hicieron sentir como en casa, felicitamos especialmente a Rocio la recepcionista por sus orientaciones y apoyo. Lo único que recomendamos es mejorar la variedad del desayuno. Con gusto volveremos.

The best is the staff, location is very convenient, next to the cathedral. At night there is live music played on the street in front of the hotel. I really recommend this place if you go to Durango.

Perfect location right in the heart of downtown Durango. Lots of cute coffee shops and the one in the hotel was open until 11 pm. Right across from the cathedral and less than 2 minute walk to plaza de armas. Museums and lots of food options around. Definitely would return and stay here again. Breakfast had limited options but nonetheless it was tasty. Same items served daily with no fruits or pastries.

Hostal de la Monja is in the middle of the downtown, across the Cathedral; has a parking space behind the hotel; everything is nearby. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast included doesn’t have many options but is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

El aire acondicionado muy ruidoso y el desayuno muy malo. Solo totopos frijoles y huevo revuelto. Lo bueno es que está sobre el paseo Durango.

Muy bonito hospedaje colonial al pie del andador del centro muy limpio solo el desayuno se me hizo muy simple tres ollas una con huevo revuelto, frijoles y chilaquiles sólo ese pequeño inconveniente, por lo demás está excelente lugar y ubicación

El horario de desayuno era de 10 a 12 de la mañana, muy tarde y muy limitado en cuanto a opciones de alimentos, hay muchos restaurantes cerca de la propiedad, si puedes evitar pagar el desayuno incluido, la propiedad y el personal muy buen servicio

Check in was easy, staff was so helpful and polite. Room was nice and clean. Housekeeping cleaned each day. Free breakfast was included. I had chorizo, beans, and chilaquiles with some coffee. Hotel is surrounded by great food and shops. It has a coffee shop downstairs where you can grab a coffee, sandwich or a sweet bread. Absolutely loved my stay and plan on returning.

Check in was easy, staff was so helpful and polite. Room was nice and clean. Housekeeping cleaned each day. Free breakfast was included. I had chorizo, beans, and chilaquiles with some coffee. Hotel is surrounded by great food and shops. It has a coffee shop downstairs where you can grab a coffee, sandwich or a sweet bread. Absolutely loved my stay and plan on returning.

The breakfast included option is a scam! I was told that it ended with the pandemia, there isn’t a restaurant service or/and kitchen service nor personal! They will make a small pot of coffee if requested and a few cookies but no more than that! I booked there because of past pleasant experiences, though that is definitely in the past, the place is remarkably going downhill. My bed linen and pillow cases were changed only one in an entire week, the bathroom shower tiles, curtains and drapes were disgustingly dirty! I could go on and on, but it would not change my unpleasant experience, Sorry Monja!!!

The second-floor room I stayed in for four nights didn't open to the cathedral as I had hoped, but it did overlook a small /patio seating area on the ground floor. The room was recently refurbished and the bathroom was clean. Staff was very helpful and positive. Excellent location less than half a block from the main plaza. Breakfast was basic but very good.

El estacionamiento esta cerrado y va un guardia a abrirte per tienes que avisar. La red Wifi no sirve no se conecta por lo lenta. Los desayunos sencillos pero la cocinera guisa muy rico, esta bien. Las instalaciones están bonitas y tranquilas. Solo el Wifi y el estacionamiento.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel La Monja. The staff was exceptional very friendly, attentive, and always polite. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, spotless, and kept very clean throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is another huge advantage. It’s within walking distance of great restaurants, the main plaza, and the beautiful cathedral, making it easy to explore the city. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel La Monja to anyone visiting Durango. We look forward to staying here again!
