When the name Hilton is attached to a hotel, one expects a certain level of professionalism and customer service. This was not the case at Hilton Garden Inn Valdosta. The room was not very clean - stains on the furniture and the room felt damp. The AC in the main lobby/bar area was broken and it was extremely hot and stuffy down there - we could not even enjoy a beverage down there. At this point, we did not say anything as the staff seemed friendly, apologetic, and trying their best. However, it really got bad when we ordered in-room dining. First, when I called the front desk, I was placed on hold for a very long time. So I went down and ordered in person - even writing my order down myself. Staff told me I should expect the order in my room in about 15 minutes. We received the food an hour later. The young man that delivered did apologize for the wait. The food was a joke and not as described on the menu. The flat breads were cold, no flavor, and wet. The primavera was horrible - extremely salty, frozen veggies, and weird chicken chunks. When we spoke with the manager to relay the inadequacies, she became defensive and rude. She also stated that there was nothing she could do about the room as we booked through a third party but was only authorized to give 50% off the food total. When we checked out the next morning, the manager would not give the 50% food discount, was rude, and defensive again. Do not stay at this hotel.
