Was welcomed with join us for breakfast in the morning. Both mornings no breakfast, couldn’t use the pull and when we asked for extra towels because there are 5 of us and only 3 in the room they literally asked “how many people live with you?” Just odd, the room was clean and you can tell the hotel is updating on the inside. There is a reason the don’t show the outside.

We came to Groton for a 2-night getaway. The hotel was fine, if a bit worn, but unfortunately there had been a fire in one of the rooms the day before we arrived. Although the hotel staff worked hard to fix things, the hallways smelled very strongly of smoke. There was no smoke odor in our room, though. The room was very large and quite pleasant.

First off the young lady working Saturday when we checked in was amazing. Unfortunately the room was anything but. The door was impossible to unlock and took both of us to do it. Also the door could be opened a bit even without unlocking it. The room was clean, nothing fancy. Also the back entrance door lock seemed to not work and there were extension cords in the stairwell for the lamps.

Room was clean. No remote for the TV. Toilet seat was loose. Climate control unit was so loud I had to turn it off, then realized it masked the noide from the refridgerator. Exterior door near my room had to be forced shut in order to lock. Breakfast didn't start until 7:00 and I had to be at work site at 7.

I booked the Ramada by Wyndham before reading the reviews as it was a cheap option for a work conference I was attending. The hotel is in fine condition but my experience was ruined by the poor staff and worse management. On my first day on the property, we were all recovering from a massive snowstorm that left two feet of snow on site. When I checked in at 3:30 p.m. from a long day of travel, I was informed by front desk staff that they would be plowing the parking lot and I'd need to move my car soon. Because of this, I decided to forgo a planned nap prior to dinner and powered through my day. The plow never came and the staff could not provide me an update on when it would. I left the hotel at 6:30 p.m. It was still unplowed. I returned at 10:30 p.m. It was still unplowed. I asked the staff, again, if the plows would be coming because I was going to be going to bed. They said they did not know, so I went to sleep. I was awoken out of a dead sleep at 12:30 a.m. to move my car by an absolutely rude staff member who couldn't even pretend to care about waking me up after midnight. Completely unacceptable behavior and completely asinine customer relations. I'll never stay at this otherwise adequate hotel again.
