Ramada by Wyndham Groton Mystic

The elevator was broke. The ice machine was broke. The TV remote was broke. The shower was dangerously hot when i turned it and it scalded me very badly. Most states have Laws regarding that for safety. Also no room service is performed. Sink was clogged. Wouldn't bring kids here. Staff/Reception wasn't very friendly either but maybe just didn't have a good grasp of English. The breakfast included was on par with what most hotels have. Basics. The rooms need an upgrade. Did seem clean enough though. Not on par with what i expect from Ramada.

Hot tub was broken, the pool only open at 1:00pm, the key card would not open the outside door, the breakfast coffee looked like mud and was impossible to drink !

I made the reservation primarily because the website advertised the property had a gym. IT DID NOT !! This is nothing but FALSE ADVERTISING! I am inclined to send a note to the AG of the state of Connecticut describing this unlawful behavior. The corruption/falsehoods in this country needs to stop!

The staff I encountered were all extremely friendly and helpful. There was not hot tub as advertised on Expedia, so I was a little disappointed. Overall, a good hotel with lots of shopping and things to do nearby.

I would not recommend this hotel. Their main website mentions having a fitness center, however when asked they said they do not have a fitness center. The inside of the hotel is very dark and dingy and the hallways smell like weed. The room doors look like they have been busted down. We had to deadbolt the door when inside the room, and felt unsafe leaving our belongings when gone. The room was decent and location was convenient. There is a WalMart across the street and plenty of amenities nearby.

Was given the incorrect room for the night and the key didn't work at first. The manager had to let us in and reprogram the keys. Inside the room the sink was cracked and broken with multiple stains on a lot of the furniture. The pool had a ring of green algae around the top and was cloudy in addition to the hot tub being non functional with just two "caution" tape signs bearly holding onto the tub. Lobby was nice and the bar looked great but nothing else about this property was worth it. Definately avoid.

An aging but well-kept facility. Staff somewhat impersonal but efficient. Excellent Indian restaurant attached to the hotel.

I purchased a room with a jacuzzi tub, only to find out once i arrived and checked in, that they had already been booked. Went to use the hotels jacuzzi, which was listed as available, only to find out that it was being repaired. Asked the manager on duty how long it had been that way and he told me 2 years, yet they still advertise it. They also advertise saunas, they werent working, and they advertise a heated pool, which was also not heated.

No elevator, no heated pool and no jacuzzi.

Dirty folded towels were left in our room when we arrived. TV didn’t work we had to have someone come in and fix it. Very loud guests that roam the halls at 1 a.m in the morning. Only positive was the location

The whole room was gross ,stains everywhere. Hair on the bed ,bathroom rug chair EVERYTHING foundba bloodbspit on the matteress ..do not ever recommend this place and tbey wouldent refund me

Hotel was embarassingly filthy and rundown for a Ramada, inside and outside. Pool was unswimmably filthy both times we tried to use it.

Overall hotel was old and rundown, dirty and smelly. The musty smell in the room was overwhelming. Completely gross. Worst hotel experience I ever had. Would have immediately left had it not been very late with a tired kid.

This place has a strange bad smell, dirty ripped carpets, elevator lights don’t work and gross, rooms have what I hope are food splattered on walls, lipstick stained sheets, hole in ceiling from water leak, burn holes on chair. I should have read the reviews more clearly.

Pictures are so inaccurate, the hotel is gross and unclean, mold above the shower, stains everywhere, there was a huge leak in the hall outside the room, and the breakfast bar was empty except for waffle mix with no waffle iron.

The room was fine-but a bit dated, The bathroom and common spaces of the hotel seem old and don’t make a great first impression. Beds were comfortable and clean overall.

Accommodations were adequate for the one night.

Overall it was good. We literally just booked a room because we didn’t want to drive back to MA. The bath tub was clogged. That was the only inconvenience.

Bathroom shower was cracked, water stains next to door because you can close the shower curtain completely no matter how much you try. A/C was on the whole entire time never got cold. The door was open across from mine and looked In better condition. I was given from my opinion the worst room.

I read reviews about a smell and there was a smell in the hallway. Not a smell of being dirty just a smell. Room was clean but very outdated. I felt like I was staying in a motel 6 that truckers stayed at on a long haul across the Midwest We stayed here to be close to the sub base. It was about 100 a night cheaper than the hotels on the other side of the bridge. Spend the extra 100.00 We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping didn’t come to the room the second day. I love having my bed made and it was a surprise to come back to room after being out all day and the bed not made or garbage emptied. The breakfast was in the basement down a long hallway. Eggs, sausage, breads and cereal. It was included . We went to dunkin instead of having it day two. Not a selling point to staying there. Bed was ok. Sheets felt old and cheap. Room could have been colder for me. Room was big. It was clean. Didn’t feel dirty. We were on the first floor and the people on the floor above us must have had children because from 9-10 pm all we heard was running up and down the hallway upstairs. The hotel is smoke free. This was the main reason I chose this over the others close to 12 If you are on a real budget then I would stay here. But if you have an extra 100 a night to spend then do that instead and stay over the bridge closer to Mystic. I definitely will not be staying here again. I would not recommend any of the budget hotels close to the sub base.

Our stay was good other then outside door kept us awake most of night with people coming in and out . I would never want to be placed by outside door again

Good friendly service. While some of the hotel is old, the room was updated, making it much more comfortable.

The bathroom sink was outside of the bathroom. I have never ever seen this before. The bathroom was so small and outdated which made it very uncomfortable. The lobby smelled like bug spray and made me nauseous checking in. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, the cooling was comfortable. The location was easy to find and perfect for what I wanted to do. The price was decent. I would stay here again.

Friendly staff. The room was comfortable and clean, but it definitely needs some fresh paint. Terrible smell of cigarettes in the halls, but our room and the lobby were fine. Breakfast was okay ( bagels, fruits, danishes, cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and eggs with sausage) not a bad stay.

I booked this property so we would have somewhere to stay right before we left town to move across country (military move) while we had our move-out inspection of our house. Our orders to move were canceled the day before our reservation so we were unable to move out of our house and could not move. I called to cancel and get a refund since it was out of our hands. Hotel staff said I had to go through Expedia for the refund. Expedia said they had to get permission from the hotel. Over a WEEK of back and forth every day with Expedia, the hotel did everything in their power to ignore Expedia’s attempts to contact them to confirm this refund so they could keep my money. Even a 50% refund would have been better than nothing. Will never recommend anyone staying here and if you do, you better hope there’s no emergency or out-of-your-hands cancellations that come up.

We stayed here two nights. The room was clean upon arrival but housekeeping did not make the bed. Not sure if we were to request that. When we called the desk, staff did bring requested items quickly. The location was in close proximity to all attractions. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my need modify my stay. I left a day early and they updated my bill to reflect after a call from Hotels.com. The rooms were spacious and clean. I didn’t have any issues with noise from other rooms. It was a great trip overall.

Wanted an early check in and was going to be charged $25 to get the room an hour early at 2pm not 3pm. The elevator was not working and did not work the whole time I was there. Had to take stairs every day. No cable TV. Only had a few shopping channels. The first morning I woke up to a tick crawling across me. When I took it to the desk, they blamed me for bringing it in. Was not till I asked to speak to a manager that I was apologized to. Was told because I got room through second hand app that could not get a discount, or upgrade. Could give me some points on an account I don’t have. The next morning I woke up to housekeeping at 9am. That was 6am west coast time. Told her to come back. She was told to clean room for spiders. I ended up leaving half way through my stay. Went to a different hotel with much better service. Could not stand the lack of accountability. The little care for the customer. Made call to corporate to complain and we will see what that gets me. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Please avoid if you can.

Very Disappointed Had to wait almost an hour ) to check in meanwhile OR and police officer came in rang the bell 3 or 5 times (was looking for someone who had a car registered. there) and when he finally came out .. ignored him like what the hell My husband and I have stayed here before … probably not again NOT TO MENTION gave us probably the most “motel 6 Ghetto” room we have there . Couldnt use tv either too Pixelly and looked like something from vhs era very sad and disappointed

There was one man upon checking in, a white, bald man without a name tag that was so rude we stopped checking in midway and paid more across thevstreet at the Hilton. The Hispanic man with whom he worked was polite and apologetic. It did look like a well-kept place otherwise.

I was weary of this property because of a lot of bad reviews, but decided to try it anyway. We found our 4 night stay to be very nice! The property/rooms were very clean and comfortable, we had a nice breakfast every morning, it was quiet and the staff was A+!!! It was very convenient to all our sightseeing, shopping and eats. We ate at their restaurant and found the foods of India can be very good... 1st. time! The only suggestion for improvement would be to have better lighting in the stairwells. We would stay there again in a heart beat! Thanks for a nice stay!

Customer service was excellent absolutely loved that there was so many stores around us. Everything was in walking distance. They allowed our pet whenever I needed assistance. Somebody was right there to help me.

Really convenient to Uber to Mohegan Sun and back.

Not too bad compared to other places and price. Pet friendly which was nice Max had a nice time. I was there to see a show at Foxwoods Casino. Only 20 minutes from here.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pool was kind of small but my kids still had fun in it. It was in a great location

The hotel is very clean, and the staff friendly. It clearly needs some maintenance work--the "balcony" outside was sort of falling off the wall, for instance, but it did not look as if it was designed to be actually used as a balcony. The location is quite convenient (right off I-95), and there are places to eat nearby. Pet friendly as well. Good place for an overnight stay on a long trip, wnich is what it was for us, but by no means for a 'resort-like' stay. We'd go again.

I had no other choice, was passing through, thought maybe something changed but no. Place needs total make over. Continental breakfast very sad.

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was great-lots of options available for either a quick bite or a sit down meal. The pool area is small, but clean and well maintained. If we come back, I would stay here again :)

Walls in room dirty. The fridge was warm when we got to the room and had standing water in it. The room was cold, the heater/ac was turned off. Some of the light fixtures didn’t work. Food was old, hard as a rock bagels and cold coffee.

Stay was good for price. Nice to have restaurant and bar on premise. Very good food and good service.

Pool was perfect a the breakfast was really good. Their waffles, the flavor of the batter is 9/10 so good. The staff very pleasant and ready to help you out. We would def stay again. The Indian restaurant at the hotel food smelled and tasted so very good!

The breakfast had very meager options. Aside from the waffle maker, no other hot food was offered. It would also have been considerate to offer decaffeinated coffee besides the regular coffee.

This place is very dated. It has an overall stale feeling to the air, especially in the hallways. Scuff marks on the doors and walls. Breakfast was very limited and basically gone by 9AM.
