Lovely hotel and great staff. Only complaint would be that the rooftop is only open from 10.30am. As an early riser it would have been nice to sit up there and or swim earlier in the day. You also cannot use the pool from 6.30pm and after a long day of exploring Athens it would be nice to be able to have a quick cool off in the pool.

Nice hotel, good service except in the restaurant where we were often ignored. For example after being shown a table no-one came back with menus until I eventually got someone attention. Also disappointed that the restaurant on the terrace was closed and the pool had reduced opening hours. Also main bar was closed. This should be advised when booking as the facilities were not as advertised and would have made us consider other hotels if known in advance.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff…the rooftop pool is absolutely amazing. Chose to wake up here on my 50th birthday, and they went above and beyond to recognize it. Highly recommend staying with them, even though the neighborhood is a little gritty.

We only stayed one night before our cruise to the Greek islands, Turkey and Malta, but the hotel was in a great location, the rooms were lovely, and we spent time at the rooftop pool and bar and had dinner at Cafe Mondo which was excellent! Great property!

Large modern hotel. Large clean rooms, jacuzzi baths. No in-room tea/coffee making facilites. Excellent breakfast buffet. Great roof terrace with pool and bar - though hours only 10.30- 18.30 - and acropolis view. Major tourist attractions walkable in about half an hour.

"I chose the hotel for the gym. For a hotel of its category, the space was very small, with few machines, and the main one was broken. There was no water available, and when there finally was, there were no cups. In the restaurant, you had to wait due to limited space, and the food was very basic. I won't choose it again."

The hotel looks pretty when you walk in, I wouldn't expect less for a 4 star hotel, however location is not the greatest. What disappointed me the most was the lack of attention to detail. The room we were given was not properly cleaned. Carpets had lots of stains, and the shower had black mold in several areas. That is totally unacceptable for me. Would not recommend this hotel.

I did enjoy the room size and cleanliness. I had a very bad time getting to the hotel and had to walk for 2 hours in pouring down rain because of a bicycle race. I don't blame the hotel, but I was very cold and irritable after I arrived. There were no rooms for us, and we had to wait for 2 hours to get a room. We had on wet and cold clothes still on from the walk.

The property is amazing, rooms were super clean and polished. The staff was super helpful and genuine in answering all our questions. The kitchen staff at the cafe and the breakfast buffet were super polite and nice. Def something you don’t get often in the states! Downtown Athens is like any other major city, loud and noisy. It is near many major bus stations and bus routes.

The hotel was great! It's about 12-15 min walk from the main area and not in the most ideal location, but the pool and amenities make up for it! Especially when you are in Athens during the summer heat. The hotel is nice - we found some mold in the shower but it is what it is. Customer Service was great and staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it

The room was good but no appliance for tea/coffee. The bath tub was stained so not nice! The area is ok too but not too central . I would go back as the price was reasonable compared to the next door hotel .

Central Location - no 4 stars Standard Positive comments first: The hotel employees are nice and Dedicated. Service staff in the breakfast area - especially Sara - did a great job and house keeping/cleaning was excellent. Not to forget, the view from roof top area (Fitness room as well) to Acropolis awesome. But we also have to comment: It was more than annoying that air conditioning in our room couldn`t be fixed during our 7 days stay. We had 24°C during night and couldn`t open windows. Although we have had booked an expensive VIP Access room in the upper floor, we weren`t offered an alternative room or at least a small compensation of some kind. And our worst experience: We lost money from our room safe!!! Staff at reception were polite but not helpful. We rather were indicated, that we may have "lost" the money somewhere else!! Thus our strong recommendation for a stay in this Melia Athens: DON`T leave money in your room safe.

The stay was ok. The room was a bit on the smaller side but nicely decorated. I had various problems with the ac, it didn’t cool enough. The breakfast honestly was not good compared to other Melia hotels I’ve stayed. The real problem here was when I ordered some room service food. When the staff member came to deliver the food, I paid her 30 euros (22 for the food and service, 8 tip) and at the end of my stay I was told I had never payed nothing at all and that I owed them. I assured them that I did pay and in fact payed extra for tip and we left it at that. 2 days later I received a email saying that they spoke to the staff member who turns out to be a supervisor and said we never gave any cash. It is embarrassing that that’s the management of that Melia location and for that reason was very disappointed with my stay. If you want you and your family to be called liars and thieves by unreliable and suspicious staff then the Athens Melia is the place to be for you!

Spent a couple of days in Athens before catching the ferry and we could not have found a better place to stay. Highlights: we found all the staff to be uniformly outstanding: professional, highly efficient, thorough, helpful and friendly. The location is pretty good, though perhaps very slightly further from the metro (Omonia) than we were expecting. We thought that the roof top pool, bar and restaurant were excellent and we had a very enjoyable late dinner there.Thank you. Our room was very clean and well kept and everything worked fine - though if you've traveled much in Europe you won't be surprised by the coziness. The bathroom was wonderful, with great amenities. Any issues? Not really. There are closer hotels to The Plaka / Acropolis / Syntagma etc... but we easily walked (a lot) and caught the metro everywhere else. In addition the trip down to Pireaus with large cases was not any issue either. All in all a very memorable and suitably relaxing stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was great, and it was nice to have breakfast every morning. The hot tub on the roof with a view of the acropolis was awesome (closes Dec1). The neighborhood might be a deal breaker for some travelers. It was really not great. I was fine traveling with my husband, but I don’t think I would have been psyched to be in the Omonia area if I was traveling with a group of women.

Great location, just 15 mins easy walk to Plaka and Acropolis. 4 mins from archaeological museum and a main pick up point for day tours. Have stayed here twice now and loved it. Great hotel with friendly staff, roof top pool and Acropolis view.

The staff was pretty great. The interior of the hotel was really nice. It was like 80s money vibe we didn’t get to have the breakfast. It was our last day in Athens however something that it is challenging about this place is the location because it is in the center of downtown so if you’re gonna stay there just be mindful of not walking out late at night.

Upon check-in, the reception staff was amazing. We were early so they held our luggage. Very easy process. The pool hours are limited. We had dinner on the rooftop. We were disappointed in the menu choices and the view of the Acropolis was not as expected. The morning buffet breakfast was good. The rooms were very clean. We felt that the room was not worth the amount we paid.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The location isn’t ideal, but it’s only about a 10-minute taxi ride from the Acropolis, which is convenient enough for sightseeing.
