Comfort Inn & Suites Scarborough-Portland

The shower curtain didn't do anything really. Got out to a giant puddle whenever i took a shower. Went to the pool and it was dirty there was grime all along the sides and dirt across the bottom of the deep end.

Elevator made sketchy noises, but other than that, everything was great.

This was a disappointing experience. Elevator was nearly broken (it sounded like it wasn’t going to make it up 1 floor), our door to our room didn’t shut all the way and required slamming it multiple times to get it to close, our room was so humid it made all of our clothes smell, and linens and bedsheets all felt plasticy and not well-washed. Definitely would not recommend staying here. Location was also very inconvenient, as it required doing U-turns to even get where we needed to go, every single time. If I could rate this hotel a 1.5 star, I would. Don’t spend your money staying here.

Very good hot breakfast, convenient parking.

Everything here was great it’s so close to every fun place for you and your family. One negative thing was the pool was a definite NOOOO! they don’t use proper cleaning equipment for the pool it’s very dirty no chlorine used they vacuum only but other then that I give it 4 stars

The door by stairway B was always unlocked The outside lights by the road weren't always turned on before dark; visibility was a problem Trash outside by the parking lot wasn't picked up daily;poop bags stayed there from 9/25 thru 10/1 I wasn't told that I had to ask to have my bed made

There were brown smears on the toilet seat that appeared to be feces, as well as dark yellow/brown splatter on the side of the bathtub. The bathroom smelled like mildew and there was a possible presence of mold/mildew. Obscenities were also written on the bathroom wall, between the door and shower. It was apparent that they attempted to clean it but you could still very clearly read the words. Comfortable beds. Warm pool but it was dirty. The pool’s depth signs had a brown film on them that was easily wiped off so it was there due to a lack of cleanliness. We arrived later in the evening with 3 young kids that needed to get to bed. I cleaned the bathroom myself upon arrival because it was too much of an inconvenience to ask to swap rooms or have the room cleaned. AM staff was unhelpful and short with me. The person I first spoke with was a young male, around barely 14-16. He got the “manager on duty” who said he would clean the room. I explained that wasn’t helpful to me, as I had already taken care of the cleaning when we arrived the previous night. Again, he said someone would be up to clean the room after 10. This wasn’t helpful and I felt that we weren’t valued as guests. My concerns about unsanitary conditions felt like an inconvenience to them. I asked to have 1 night comp’d and was told a manager would call me after 2:00. Nobody ever called me.

The staff tried very hard, showing us 3 different rooms before we found one that didn't have a strong odor, but it did take 3 tries. The exterior door that supposedly was unlocked with a room keycard was never actually locked in the 3 nights we stayed.

If you want BEDBUGS this is your place. I woke up at 4 am on the third night, looked over on my pillow and guess what I saw. Packed up, went downstairs and called for night person. I was nice by the way because I used to be in customer service. He said they would deep clean the room and would ask the manager to call me back about a refund. Guess what? He did not. Thankfully I was headed home and am deep cleaning and drying everything. What if I had planned to stay longer and had to move elsewhere, possibly infecting that location...... Ick. The tub wasn't the cleanest either.....

This place was absolutely TERRIBLE. I never felt so dirty and unsafe entering a hotel room before in my life. The room was absolutely disgusting. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a month. Hair in the shower. Thought I even saw bed bugs. I went down to the desk and told them I am not staying there and proceeded to go stay at the Marriot. What an absolute embarrassment of a hotel.

Sheets had gross stains when we checked in. Room smelt horrible with an even worse air freshener trying to cover it up. Old beer left in our fridge from prior guests. Big bug in the bathroom in the morning. Front desk staff not accommodating. Felt humid and moist in the room. Not a comfortable stay.

Looks great on the outside but once you step into the rooms it’s a bit dingy and outdated. And definitely had a weird Oder of masked smoke or something once you enter the room. Bath tub was filled with pink mold build up along the tub. Mind you I have a 7 month old with us.

Would not recommend staying here. Definitely try and find other accommodations while you are in town. The staff is not at all friendly. The room did not feel clean. The tub has mildew and was clogged. The breakfast leaves much to be desired and was cramped. One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had and were pretty easy to please. Disappointed is putting it lightly.

This hotel has the smell of cigarette smoke fully, deeply permeating every square inch…rooms, halls, beds, linens, pillows, even our clothing that we left inside our suitcases. We arrived very late at night, and even though we had called to let them know we were getting there late, our rooms weren’t ready when we arrived. Once in our room we realized how bad the smoke was. Their page describes them as a nonsmoking hotel. The rooms reek of heavy-duty pine-sol and smoke. We asked for a room far from elevator and we’re given the room right next to elevator! I. Order to sleep the first night I had to hold a wet washcloth over my mouth and nose just to feel like I wasn’t wheezing. The tub was broken-no stopper or shower pull. Toilet lid and seat were broken. Huge hole in wall where blow-dryer had been bolted, but no hair dryer. They moved us to another room away from elevator the next day. The only way we could stay was to leave the windows open the whole time we were there. There was no one to answer the phone at the front desk and when we tried to get ahold of the manager, they said he wasn’t expected, or she was busy, or they just didn’t even have anyone around. This space is of very poor condition inside. Peeling wallpaper, water damage to floors, zero amenities—pool had algae! And the deeply set reek of cigarette smoke. I would NEVER suggest anyone stay there.

Spacious rooms for family with kids.

Tv was not working and was not repaired until 9:00 PM. Had fire alarm pulled at 1:00 AM which I turn caused not much sleep the rest of the night. Had doctors appointment at 8:15 AM.

Early check in was very much appreciated! Beds were comfortable.

The room was okay but when you looked out the window was all rooftop couldn’t see anything else! The staff were very friendly!

OK is the best way to describe. Janky doors, elevator and very worn fixtures. Internet a bit spotty. Ok if you looking for a reasonable, average and nothing fancy for a night or two.

Breakfast was very good. Had issue with Tv and front desk was suppose to send someone to fix it but never came. Wld recommend this hotel.

Our room was in poor condition- peeling wallpaper, holes in wall, rusty hand rail in shower, cigarette burn in carpet. At least it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Staff was welcoming and friendly. Room was alright, the bathroom door did not close so there wasn’t much privacy. Also, our room was right in front of the elevator and other guests would look inside every time we opened the door.

staff go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service, they’re always willing to allow a late check out to accommodate work meetings in the mornings. bathrooms are always clean and have had no issues with cleanliness in the rooms. ample parking in the lot available. no insight around the breakfast. staff also informed me if you book through their website you’re able to get reward points. typically stay here once a week to visit family. easy location to get too and overall feel safe while staying here as a solo female traveler.

We will never be coming back to this comfort inn location in Scarborough. When we first called to reserve, we were told we would be in rooms next to the friends we were traveling with. When we got there, we were given rooms not even on the same floor, and they told us they could not get us on the same floor, all because they didn’t want to have to clean the room we first walked into I’m sure. We had to call Choice hotels customer service number and argue with the front desk worker for an hour before we were given a room next to our friends like we were told. We finally got a room next to them, which smelled of stale cigarettes but we were over it at that point. Fast forward to the next morning, we were woken up at 9:00am by 2 LOUD bangs on our door, followed by the man cleaning rooms whip open our door and stand in the doorway before my boyfriend sat up and noticed someone had actually just come in. Mind you, we had the do not disturb sign up on the door!! We were so weirded out and appalled by this. We will now ALWAYS make sure to never forget to lock the hotel door. The staff at this place were very unprofessional and we were not happy with our stay at all.

The staff were unkempt, unprofessionally dressed in jogging pants, dirty shirts, shower shoes, and were on their phones in public areas. No coffee in breakfast area, and we were told he couldn’t open the bag to make more. Started cleaning and removing items before the 9:30am cut-off. Both days at the breakfast room, the trash container (only 1) was overflowing and the staff would only push it down. The counter where the food was, was always dirty. Hallways smelled musty and felt damp. Talking with a single lady at the property, she mentioned that she felt very unsafe at check-in and staying here due to the staff. Beds & pillows were comfortable, and bedding was clean but very wrinkled. The staff blocked the hallways with laundry bins as we were trying to leave making it difficult to maneuver our luggage to the elevator. The elevator mat was disgusting, dirty and didn’t fit properly which kept catching on the suitcase wheels.

Friendly staff, good hot breakfast options, and clean rooms.

There was a mix up at check in and the staff did nothing to help figure it out. If it weren't for the suggestion from one of the people in my party we would not have figured it out. It felt like we were bothering the staff member. The door to the pool room was in very rough condition and the door to the bathroom in my room seemed like the top hinge was loose or something. It had to be lifted slightly and pushed hard to close. Breakfast was adequate.

Nick from the front desk was super nice & happy to take care of our needs during our stay. Our Ac wasn’t working properly and the hotel was super booked because there was a aau basketball tournament going on in the area( that’s what we were there for as well) so I know swapping our room wasn’t possible. However within 5 min he had people up there in our room swapping out the entire unit. Once they finished we had zero issues. His response time was impeccable.

The place was not clean. Keys were given to a room that already had people in them. Asked for the TV remote that went to our TV as the one we had went to the TV in the gym. Manger was super rude and looked like he crawled out of bed. Will never stay there or recommend it

The property was affordable and not far from the beach.

Convenient place, close to everything, good breakfast!

Close to airport, easy to find.

The room was clean and fine for our purposes but we could hear the people above us constantly. The road has a median that makes it tricky to get to unless you are on the same side of the road, and the parking lot wasn't quite big enough for the number of cars trying to park.

It was quite, clean and was safe as they have cameras Staff was good and was in us route 1 so was easy to access.

We came to visit Portland for a couple days and enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn. It is in VG condition, very quiet, and in drivable range of Portland and surrounding estuary.

It was fine for our needs. It is close to the airport which is what we were looking for.

Location, food options, quiet and safe

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.

The breakfast was not as nice as advertised.

Free parking. The hotel is not far from the Portland pier. However, the breakfast are not good. I found a stale mini croissant with mold.

They had my room right next to the elevator on the 3 rd floor. The parking lot was never full so why have me there. The bed was uncomfortable. The breakfast food was horrible The egg omelette was rubbery with no taste and the sausage did not look real. Not much to choose from that was healthy. I have been to other Comfort Inns and they were much much much better than this one.

This was a great place to stay during our first trip to Maine. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was served every day from 6-9 and there was a constant flow of people however staff was maintaining and filling consistently. Typical hotel breakfast toast ,fruit ,cereal , coffee and juice. I appreciated they also had eggs, Turkey sausage, yogurt and an assortment of bread goods . The hotel was constantly being cleaned and they always gave fresh towels.

We didn’t have a remote for the television. We asked for one. When the employee brought it he didn’t program the remote to the television. We called 4 times then I went to the front desk and he was very snarky. He said I have someone coming in. We locked our door at 10pm. The pool smelled musty. The “free” breakfast was very sparse. Probably won’t be back again!

The room had random trash laying on the floor when we arrived. No TV remote in the room and we did not receive one after we asked for one. The inside of the mini fridge was dirty. The pool was cloudy. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. They did not refill anything when they ran out of breakfast items. I did ask for napkins, syrup and non stick spray and did receive those items, but the rest of the items we were out of luck.

Rooms were clean and comfortable; however, the breakfast was substandard (including moldy mini bagels), and the parking lot was super sketchy with lots of people just hanging out and cars flying through.
