Super 8 by Wyndham Danville

Property in midst of construction. Unsightly appearance but it will be an improv3ment when finished.

We were in the second building and due to construction there was no light in the walkway it was dark and raining so we couldn’t see anything made it very uncomfortable for myself and my children.

The exterior of this hotel is awful -- it's in the process of being rebuilt, and there's junk and construction debris everywhere. I came close to just driving away based on the physical appearance of the property. But the desk and commons/breakfast areas appear to have been recently renovated. My room was nicely renovated too, and it was comfortable and quiet.

There was no showerhead in the bathroom. We were given a room on the second floor, but weren’t told that we had to take a certain staircase to get to the second floor because the three closest stair cases in our building we’re not safe and we’re boarded up. So we had to drive back to the front desk And ask how we’re supposed to get to our room

We never checked in the property. The outside looked like it was wrecked and the second floor had wood for railings, some of them were without walkways and no railings. The condition of the building was horrible and I’m so surprised that Expedia would list this property. I called the property and no one answered the phone. I called customer service at Expedia and had no satisfaction in getting my refund.

The property was under construction and exposed beams and other unsafe items hung from all over. In fact, a worker informed me construction was halted because of unsafe conditions throughout the facility. I am uncertain why we were permitted to stay.

Not well maintained. Everyone is on the ground floor. Second floor looks like it is under renovation, but it appears it was stopped mid project. Door to the room did not have a sweep, so there is a noticeable gap under the door to let dirt in when the wind blows. Breakfast is minimal; cereal and a waffle maker. If you only need an inexpensive place to sleep, it would be ok at best.

requires 100 deposit, something hidden at bottom of "policies{, not listed by price. This is held for up to 10 days! An obvious grab of interest, not a legitimate charge for any issues. I could forgive the outside ( gouged stucco, missing balconies, orange construction plastic instead of railing where there were balconies) however the website says it was renovated in 2019? The inside, but its definitely not done! Website also mentioned a barbeque and small picnic area -- not there. Breakfast was far below normal for both Super 8 and Wyndam hotels. Just dry cereal, waffles with sugar free syrup, and snack bars. No fruit, no eggs. Sign said linens were changed only after 3 days. That is fine, but nobody even came out empty the trash. We had fruit peels, so fruit flies. Just not at all what I expect from any major chain.

This is a janky motel. The room was dirty. Pubes on the toilet seat, bugs in the bath tub. Beds were uncomfortable. They took out more than $100 for their refundable security deposit. Took over 5 daus to get back. My daughter spilled orange soda on the ground and we wiped it out with a towel. As soon as i get to the office to checkout, the office manager is standing there with said towel threatening to charge us if a "stain" doesnt come out. Very rude staff. Would not stay here again.

Spiders and mold in bathroom

Me and family stay here 2-3 times a year for the past 20 years when we are in town visiting. They change management/ownership often. They have done some remodel but the cleanliness of the room this time was terrible. Numerous cobwebs, nightstands and headboard layered with dust and don't bump the lamp shades with the 1/2" of dust build up. Shower didn't look cleaned after it was last used. Very disappointed this trip.

This was the dirtiest hotel room I have EVER stayed in. My daughter had a medical appointment early morning so we spent the night before. Dry urine on the toilet, sneaker footprint on the tub, wad of hair on shower wall, dead bugs, crud and dog hair in corner and I killed a bug in that corner. But, staff was polite.

The rooms at this hotel were brand new, very clean and had comfortable beds.

Absolutely nothing unique. Room was dirty. No housekeeping came to make beds, take trash or replace towels.

Poor air conditioner, mold in the room and bathroom, bathroom was not clean. Waffle maker didn't work properly (didn't cook completely).

Mold in the shower, unknown substance on the bed skirt, door did not seal well, ac not cold, limited breakfast. I have photos to back my comments.

AC/Heater didn't get cold, but temps were moderate. Some rooms have been remodeled (previous stays), this time older accommodations. No elevator, but less than a dozen steps to second level. Rooms were clean, didn't smell bad, except for lots of air freshener. My devices alert me that WiFi is not secure.

Good location but very noisy

Clean , bed comfortable. in room 105, the phone didn’t work. And the heat/ ac rumbled and rattled every time it went on. Very poor sleep. Would have asked for another room but we’re all unpacked by the time the heater went on. No phone so didn’t call front office.

Was good and clean. But too much noise because is next to the hiway. Stay away from north side rooms

It was pretty clean, decently inexpensive, but the door had a gap so I could hear EVERY little noise from outside.

Place was a decent value. A little run down and very noisy with the highway right there . Room was clean and beds comfortable noise from the highway makes it pretty hard to sleep

The facility was under major renovation air conditioner did not work in our room

We only needed a hotel for the night to split up a long drive. The room was clean and was supposed to be freshly renovated. The renovation was really about 90% complete. Some outlets didn't work and the front door leaked air. The room was facing the highway so it was noisy. The HVAC system was not as noisy as some places but was still loud. The bed was comfortable enough

The bed was comfortable and the overnight manager, worker(?) was kind. The fridge didn't get cold, and the heater sounded like a train all night. For a quick stop over, not too bad in general.

Room was clean, parking adequate, A|C was okay, but made strange noises! The complimentary breakfast was terrible and I went to the front desk to see about extending my stay, but there was no one attending the front desk even after waiting ten minutes. Needless to say I did not extend my stay!

Started off the stay by having no one at the front desk and I had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to check me into my room. Than I go into my room and it has a strong odor. The air conditioner was barely working. Than the continental breakfast the following morning was very basic they only offered Belgian waffles which were very good and coffee. There was no other options for drinks and when I asked for water I was told they had a drinking fountain down the hall. Unless you are desperate I would avoid this hotel.

The room wasn't clean housekeeping or the reservationist came out and cleaned our room for us It was old food in the fridge We were willing to stay there because she cleaned up We went to get in bed and the sheets were dirty My girlfriend freaked out left we weren't there an hour and they won't refund my money they promised me they would they wrote me a letter that they would they see rocks copied it and the lady at the counter today is the most rudest person ever met in my life

Started by waiting over 20 minutes at the front desk to check-in, no staff in sight. Called the phone number several times, could hear the phone ringing from where I was waiting, no one to answer it. When the staff finally came to the desk, she Printed me out a page to sign off on policies and the center of the page, front top to bottom, was completely blank. Clearly a printer issue, but why should I sign something agreeing to policies that I can’t read bc they aren’t printed? Finally made my way to my assigned room, to find the door was partially open, entered the room and it was very apparent that someone had been in the bed as the sheets and blanket were partially pulled down. Returned to the front desk and reported findings to the worker. She repeatedly told me that it was fine, that sometimes the housekeepers don’t pull the door closed all the way when they leave the room, paying no mind to what I was saying about the bed. I asked if I could be moved to another room due to the bed clearly having been used since the room was cleaned. She told me that was not necessary and again stated that the housekeeper just didn’t pull the door shut after cleaning the room. Perhaps that is the case but that does not negate the fact that someone had clearly been in the room and used the bed. She still don’t seem to understand. When I checked out front desk lady was so rude.

It was a quiet motel. There was a small store for snacks or nessesaties that may have been forgotten.. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

The hotel has a requirement of a $100 deposit charge for obtaining your room. This charge is said to be removed from your card several days after departure. However, one must check to be sure that the $100 charge has been refunded. Our stay was fine, but because of the unusual charge, I'd pick a different hotel.

My only issue was that I didn't know there was $100 deposit for each room that we rented ahead of time. And was told that it will be reimbursed 2 or 3 days after. That was never mentioned and I got charged twice for the room.

I stayed one night at this hotel for business in Danville. Neighborhood extremely safe. Quiet neighborhood. Friendlys and McDonald's within walking distance. Exterior of property pretty well maintained. Plenty of free parking. Nice lobby. Easy check in. Pleasant front desk staff. Roomvery clean. Vinyl flooring instead of carpet-- big plus!! Clean linens. Comfortable bed but a bit soft for me. Loud heater and a bit difficult to keep a consistent temperature in the room. Very nice big clean bathroom. Tub a bit slippery so be careful. Good selection of TV channels. Fridge and microwave in room. Lighting could be better. Not enough power outlets. Complimentary breakfast was available but i didnt partake so cant comment. Checkout no problem. All in all very goid stay.

Great staff and great location. Easy access from interstate.

It was a nice stay if you just need a place to crash quick. Clean with lots of rooms. Road into the property a little sketchy.

Stayed here for a family weekend trip. The family was visiting Knobels Amusement park. The Super 8 is a convenient location to go Knobels and be near restaurants and other attractions in the general area. The motel property is undergoing an extensive renovation. As such many of the outdoor areas are under construction. Interior spaces are largely already renovated. Having said that our actual room was neat, clean and comfortable. Everything worked properly. Super 8 included an simple breakfast with limited offerings (coffee, juice, cereal, toast, make your own waffles). The staff were universally friendly and helpful as needed. This property is right next to Interstate 80 so you can hear some road noise but this was not a problem inside of our room.

Second time staying here. Affordable and close to Janet Wies, easy to get in and out of.

The room was clean and well put together. There were no vents in the bathrooms for the steam from the showers so the dampness just stayed in the room, making the beds and blankets damp no matter what time of day it was. The continental breakfast that was advertised was terrible. They only had milk and cold coffee to drink. No juice of any kind so my son with dairy allergies had nothing to drink. Breakfast consisted of 2 different kinds of cereal, overripe bananas, some yogurts, and watered down waffle mix. But half the time we were there, the waffle machines didn’t work so you couldn’t even make waffles. We ended up just spending money going out to eat for breakfast every morning. The hotel is in the middle of a renovation so o am uncertain if after the reno’s are complete, things will get better.

Disappointed with breakfast offerings

Decent place to stay for a nights rest. We had to switch our room when we smelled cigarettes upon entering our room. The guy at front desk switched us without any hassle. Facility is clean and looks newly remodeled. Breakfast area is clean and the breakfast is minimal and not much to rave about.

Nothing but fruit loops for breakfast cereal how hard is it to go buy cereal when you know you are out. Had to ask for ice from behind check in desk

This property is on the verge of being resurrected. However, has a long way to go. The first room they put us in had a foul odor and was pretty beat up with stains on carpet and furniture. The furniture and walls looked as if someone tried clawing their way out. Our door quit working on our second day which led to our belongings being held hostage in a room we couldn't gain access too for a few hours. We were then moved to another room, which happened to be brand new and remodeled without the stench and claw marks. The breakfast, while edible, was very underwhelming. Your choices of frosted flakes or fruitloops. White toast and a waffle maker without plates to put it on. On a positive note the water pressure in the shower was phenomenal with water as hot as you could stand. Every staff member we came in contact with was nice and tried to be helpful. Probably will not opt to stay here anytime in near future.

This Super 8 was clean, quiet and comfortable. It provided good value and was just what I needed for. a 1 nite stay. The breakfast was the only downer. Not much other than toast and coffee. Nothing beyond that and no fresh fruit or eggs at all. Coffee was Ok, so that was the only highlight of breakfast

Stay was fine. Bkfst missing fruit and pastries. Option of bkfst sandwich would have been nice. No other issues.
