Check in was great, our room was on the 2nd floor and we had lots of luggage. The young man checked us in and helped carry our luggage upstairs as there is no elevator. Room was comfortable and quiet, great stay.

This hotel/motel is in need of renovations. We were in 2 different rooms - the first smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room so we asked to move. The front desk girl’s explanation was that the first room used to be a smoking room. There was a feeling that the room was dirty, due to grunge in and around the baseboards, in the grout in the bathroom, the really old and faded appliances (both microwave and coffeemaker had discolouration and were not what I would call clean), the chipped paint and stained/discoloured ceilings & walls. The linens were clean, and the toilet and tub were probably as clean as they could be for their age, but that’s the qualifier. Property’s one redeeming feature is the free on-site EV charger (2 spots) which was a bonus. It was also lucky for us as the entire parking lot was full and that was the only spot we could have parked (and it was available). Having said all this, the nightly rate was pretty cheap, but I would have happily paid more for a cleaner feeling room/space.

We had stayed 2 nights at this property, while the staff was friendly the guy accidentally charged my card twice and thank goodness I checked. Now our room was disgusting, the baseboards were missing and you could see all different kinds of bugs dead and alive crawling around. There was centipedes crawling and spiders everywhere so gross. Now I can’t confirm about the bed bugs but I woke up with tiny bites all over my hands. I would not stay here again until things get fixed…

We only slept and showered there, and those two things were clean and fairly good. Not all of the rooms are like ours was, but ours had water coming up through the flooring in the main area. It smelled bad - a bit like smoke, curry and mold. Some Lights burnt out, kitchenette sink only ran hot water, light switches for bathroom were half way across the room, baseboards were molding in the bathroom, killed two bugs and a spider (no bed bugs). I should have asked for a refund. Will not be recommending.

The hotel was the cheapest option I found for Canada Day long weekend. The room was OK, nothing fancy but very simple. A few problems to note for room 223: -The microwave was sorta broken (would heat up food but the plate was not spinning) -The AC was loud to the point we couldn't hear the TV unless we cracked the volume up, but at least it works -the shower head was great, but there was a broken piece connecting to the wall -the doors are thin and the hotel is right on the road that connects Lake Country to other towns to north and south, so speed is 70-80kmph and lots of traffic all day and night, at least during our stay. Very noisy location, so not ideal if your goal is to rest. Could not hear other people in the hotel, though. Location is quite good, with Save On Foods and some restaurantes around the place just a short walk distance. Also, you can drive anywhere from there, including some not-so-busy lakes (like Woody's Lake) and lots of parks and wineries, so that's a plus on my book. Overall, I would stay there again if there was no other option at a cheaper rate. Canada in general thinks here is Disneyland and even the cheapest hotels in the smallest cities are charging $200 a night, which is unbelievable to me.

Have stayed here a couple of times and not really any problems. This last visit the A/C would work for a little while then shut off. Kept turning it down till 18 degrees but it did not cool the room to that overnight. Room needed refurbishing. Repainted, refreshed.

The room was clean and the HVAC system worked well, which made for a comfortable stay. However, the lighting in the room was quite dim, and there wasn't much space to walk around. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, it does the job. One thing to note is that the photos on Expedia are a bit misleading—the rooms appear larger and more equipped in the pictures than they actually are. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was not as advertised or as it looked in photos. It was not a queen size bed but instead a double. There is no conditioner in the bathrooms and as a woman with long hair and travelling all day. It would be nice to have conditioner to wash and have a quick shower. The room went from an ice box to a sauna very difficult to cool down after. I was not very pleased staying at this. Also, the floor can tell that it was not taken care of or damaged as the floorboards were starting to curl up from water damage or something. However, the bed was clean and comfortable, even though it was very small and difficult to sleep when your partner is 6 foot three and took up most of the bed and you couldn’t really sleep or move because it was so small with two of us.

I booked through Expedia and booked a non-smoking room. When I arrived I was put into a room that smelled like cigarette smoke. I went to the front desk and was told there were no other rooms in the same category so I asked if there was another room that I could go into and they put me into another room that was non-smoking. The next morning, they tried to charge me for the upgraded room and I said that I had already paid for it on Expedia and should not be charged any extra costs given that they had given me the wrong room in the first place. I had to go through several people working at this location to have the charges reversed. In addition they have EV parking stalls at this location however they were being occupied by the worker’s vehicles (non EV) and I had to ask to have the car moved so I could charge my EV. This took quite a bit of time and given that I was a late arrival, I wasn’t able to settle into my room until well after 10 PM. The staff were friendly and responsive, but they didn’t seem to know how to do things and after a very long drive, I would have appreciated a smoother check in and billing experience.

I booked this Super 8 with Expedia, and I specifically booked a "Pet Friendly" room. When I got a text from Super 8 to check in online, it said they didn't allow pets and it would be a $250 cleaning fee, it they found out you had pets. When I went to check in at the hotel, there was a sign that said "NO PETS". They looked over my reservation and put me in a pet friendly room, but wanted to charge me another $20 pet fee. When I booked it was clearly stated that I was booked in a pet friendly room at no extra charge. In the end it was all cleared up and we stayed in a tiny room with our pet at no extra cost. At check in the fee was dropped from $20 to $10, but I refused that and it was dropped all together. It was an OK place for one night. The safety latch on the door was broken, I guess they figured we had a dog and that was protection enough. Older hotel, but we had a comfortable sleep in the bed. It is right beside the highway, which might bother some, but we slept OK. In the end all was well, but it was a little frustrating with the pet policy? Not sure if it was Expedia or Super 8...

It is a 2 star hotel and property so not expecting too much. Man at front counter was super friendly. We were leaving super early for our check out next day so he made us up a pack muffins and snacks. Appreciated that extra effort as we didn't even ask for it.

The carpet had patches in it. Waited for 25 minutes to check in as there was no staff at the front counter. I used the phone to call the front desk but nobody came. When he did he had headphone's in listening to music which probably prevented him hearing the desk phone ring.

What I liked most about this property was the customer service. My husband and I were in a situation where our flight had been cancelled and we were tired and stressed out. Johnny at the Super 8 went beyond expectations in kindness and consideration…..and apparently this was only his 5th day at the job! I would highly recommend staying here and if you are lucky, Johnny will be there to greet you with a smile!
