There were very few dining options. Three restaurants associated with the facility. One was closed two of the days we were there. Limited hours with one of the other restaurants. Given the volume of people there during peak vacation times, there should have been more options and the restaurant should’ve stayed open. Menu items were similar – there were no chef specials and limited choices especially given that the one night they were out of pork chops. There was a pool bar that often closed way too early. We did get room service one night and they were quick and efficient. Given that there were not a lot of restaurant options nearby if they had stayed open or had more choices, they could’ve made a lot more money. Some of the front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. I had to ask where to go upon check-in having never been there before. The person who checked us in did not explain the charges that were going to be put on my card. When I first made the reservation, it did say there would be charges that I would have to pay when I got there. But I was not clear on what those charges were for. She was not overly friendly or helpful. The wait staff, hostess and the bartenders, on the other hand, were very nice and friendly.

Resort has nice lodge/ lobby area. Rooms are disappointing “regular “ hotel room vibe… not as nice as lodge exterior. Pool area is nice but needed more chairs. Bar/restaurant was listed to be open till midnight but was closed at 11pm.

I didnt like that we were there about 5 years ago and the rooms need an upgrade. Beds not very comfortable. Also the ship ride was not available again. They should not promote it. It wasnt operating 5 years ago either. Come on fix it!

Check-in was the fastest and most efficient I've ever experienced. I was at the counter for less than two minutes. We got in late and thought we would hang out for a while before retiring to our room but the sports bar made last call at 10:30 on the night before a holiday! We ordered two 16oz beers before the stopped serving - $25. Yikes! The next day my wife had three drinks and an order of potato chips while I was golfing -$65. Wow! There was no filter or coffee for the coffee maker in the room. The rooms are expensive. The lodges AC was not working while we were there. The golf course is burnt to a crisp. I've played it many times and it's usually nice but not this year. The lodge and the resort ar modern and beautiful as are the grounds. The outdoor activities are great. However, the high prices for accommodations and beverages mean I will never stay here again. Save yourself some money and stay in Burnsville and hang out at Stonewall during the day.

Beautiful location & a great variety of amenities . This resort truly has anything you’d want or need: lodging in hotel/lodge rooms, cottages, lakeside homes, or camping. Recreation options include golfing, fishing, hiking, boating (kayaks, canoes, SUPs, pontoon & Craig cat rentals), 3 restaurants with gourmet food. Everything on the resort is walkable. The indoor & outdoor heated pool & hot tub and fitness room are also a bonus.

This is a beautiful resort on Stonewall Lake. It has a nice pool and park like grounds with several easy day hikes and bike/boat rentals. Be aware that you have to pay “grounds fees” and they charge a lot to use their sports equipment/kayaks etc. I originally booked 2 days through Expedia. When I went to reception to add another night I got a big hassle and was treated pretty rudely. They made me do an entirely new reservation complete with additional holds on my credit card and a second charge of $20+ for “grounds fee”. I should not have had to pay extra fees simply because my plans changed. I have traveled a fair amount and have never had issues adding an additional night to my stay. It’s unfortunate because it was a nice enough resort hotel.

Stopped on my way back to Ontario from Florida for the night. Property beautiful from outside, inside experience not great. Elevator broken, not much hot water in shower, take out back for dinner broke and food went everywhere on way back to room. Pool area was dirty and hot tub jets are so loud you can’t hear anyone talking. Was really looking forward to stay, wasn’t what was expecting.

Refrigerator had food left inside ,the foor was dirty ,i believe they had a dog in the room,the chair had pretzels on it, the desk chair is broken , the lamps have not been dusted in quite some time , had to ask for coffee cups,coffee, sugar snd other stuff , had to ask for a bag for the ice bucket so i could get ice from the machine ,beds not made must request, no clean towels, must request ,trash not picked up ,i guess you must request,no microwave safe ,must request. Asked why no service and was told they are under staffed. $273 a night. Would not recommend and will not be returning. Will find better lodging next time.

The room when we came in was spotless, it was well organized. The only thing I would say to replace was the coffee pot. It was bent and hard to pour coffee into the mugs. But overall we enjoyed our stay at Stonewall resort and would definitely recommend staying there and also come back👍

I thought id give them another try since last time wasnt so great. Still no improvement. We were given a handicap room. Carpet is frayed/peeling and dirt. Found dog food and unknow debris everywhere. Cups had dry cofee in them. Soap dispenser empty. Toilwt paper empty no spare. Not clean at all. Not a resort experience at resort cost. Staff, and restaurants are great.

The grounds had lots of walking paths, places to explore, kid friendly with a heated indoor/outdoor pool, playground, games. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Cleanliness was average but I blame it mostly on inconsiderate guests (pouring drinks out on the patio/landscaping and not picking up the straw, spent cigarettes, general trash left in common areas despite plenty of trash cans). The food was pricey and average, same with the drinks. Fridge in every room (I know there were reviews of them not being cold but I also think ppl don’t know there is a dial to adjust). Microwave in the nook next to the front desk to heat up food. Sauna, steam room, towel service for pool all excellent.

The room we were put in was older and not like other rooms we have stayed in before. There were cobwebs but otherwise ok. One of the outlets didn’t work so we had to move coffee pot into bathroom. I was ok with staying there but when paying 230$ would have expected nicer. Golf course is beautiful and the restaurants are good but also pricey. Buffet at Stillwater’s is $38 person but had prime rib, few sides, and dessert. Bed was comfortable and I didn’t hear much from hall. I would stay again but only if cheaper next time.

The rug/carpet in the premises, and in the room was disgusting, the smell in the room was terrible. The ceiling full of dust. The place in the entrance and the lobby is beautiful.

This was a nice stay, but 250 a night. Not worth it. First, there were no beaches to the lake. I wanted to sit and enjoy the view without swimming. Next, there were no rooms with balconies. And no covered areas to smoke a cigarette. It rained while we were there so sitting outside listening to the storm would have been nice. Then, we had dinner at Stillwater’s and were not told that the buffet was $40 a person. That was so not worth it. I literally had a taco and there wasn’t any salsa out. The salad was truly mediocre. The hostess stand is not visible from all entrances and I stood there for 10 minutes before a guest showed me where to go. Then, I had to wait for someone to seat me even though the staff and manager saw me waiting the first time. We went TJ Muskies the next day and had a much better experience. Wanted to try Lightburn, but the online reservations said there were no spots at all that evening. We were leaving the next morning so we didn’t get to go there. Also, 57 channels on the tv is worthless. My opinion is you need to invest in streaming channels and get rid of cable altogether. Needless to say it was an ok stay. Too expensive

Stay was great except for the initial interaction at the gate house entry. The driveway was blocked by two pick up trucks so my husband went in and the ladies were quite rude to him. That was not the best way to start our anniversary weekend!

I enjoyed my first visit to Stonewall Resort. It’s less than two hours from home so it made for a nice getaway. The grounds - the lake, trees, golf course - are beautiful and peaceful. There were groups meeting there, a wedding and families with small children vacationing but it did not feel crowded or loud. The guest rooms could be modernized a bit but they are comfortable. The restaurants are high quality. Great food! But they definitely add to the overall expense. The spa was booked through the weekend so I wasn’t able to get a massage. (Call ahead.) But I used the gym and felt comfortable walking the grounds. I would have liked more planned activities - guided walks/hikes, bike rides or yoga, for example. But it was extremely hot so I was also happy relaxing in the lodge and by the lake with a cool drink in hand.

If you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay, this is the place! Very affordable also. Nice pool and patio to enjoy. Great views. Tennis/pickleball, golf, kayaking, boat rental (marina is open Thursday Friday Saturday). Several restaurants on campus. Food was ok. Rooms were a little dated but comfortable.

We were however disappointed in the meals. The web site showed meals that were not on the menu. On the first night there I had the Ceaser Salad with Chicken. The Lettuce was wilted and the Chicken tasted like it had been steamed cooked and put on the grill to have grill marks. This was also the first time that I had marinated tomatoes in a Caeser Salad. My partner also had a salad, and the chicken was the same. Second night we eat in TJ Muskies and had a Focaccia Flatbread that was regular pizza dough. For very little the food could be upgraded and be what it is presented to be. Stonewall was a nice getaway.

Been here many times. Love the food and hiking trails. Only 2 places to eat. This is usually not a problem. Main dining room was closed for dinner one evening. Alternate bar was loud and noisy. Not enjoyable.

I wish I could give the staff 10 stars! They were amazing and really made our trip extra special. We were also lucky enough to be there when there was a murder mystery dinner which was great. I was worried about only having their restaurants in the vicinity, but i was pleasantly surprised. All meals were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. The pool and outdoor amenities made it peacefully and relaxing. We can't wait to go back next year. I highly recommend this property! Just don't forget your wallet. Things can be a bit pricey, but everything is well worth it. You can do as i did and close your eyes, enjoy it all and charge everything to the room and deal with it when you get home relaxed and with all your memories.
