I was disappointed mainly because I only discovered one bed (of 2 queen size) did not have fresh sheets as I prepared to sleep. Luckily the other did I think. The cream cups were not fresh and left curdled bits in the coffee. Their questionnaire asked to rate on "eco-friendly". I don't think providing plastic wrapped styrofoam cups are where you trim costs. Finally, the room air unit was so loud I had to turn it off completely. I could not use their business center to print out a simple boarding pass or confirm my plane reservation online.The error message was something like 'this computer is trying to do a forbidden operation'. There was something about improving customer service by replacing the hallway carpet in the future.... It is hard to tell if this is just problems that will go away after the carpet is replaced, or if there is something else going on.

Very clean and bright hotel lobby. Room bed and AC are comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet or a la carte is tasty. Ample parking.The only downside is the Business Center doesn’t have any computer to print necessary documents.

I stayed Friday and Saturday night (September 6-8. I asked housekeeping to freshen up my room THREE TIMES. Clean towels and empty trash. NOTHING WAS DONE. I actually took a housekeeping woman who was working at another room to my room and asked her to please clean my room. This was mid Saturday afternoon and when I returned from dinner and other activities at 9 PM, NOTHING HAPPENED. Is this a common occurrence for other guests?

I have stayed at this property before. The front desk staff are wonderful: friendly, helpful, kind. It is nice to see the same people during each of my stays, which tells me this is a hotel that values its employees. The room we had was a very nice size but it smelled very stale. There was trash on the floor between the bed and the wall, which tells me the room was not well cleaned. I asked for a cleaning and it was not cleaned. So the room was not great - I was disappointed in its cleanliness.

Close to Lake Forest which is a unique place. Rooms are very large. Rooms could use an update, getting worn. Lighting in the bathroom is inadequate. Expensive for a Hilton Garden Inn but I suppose you get what the traffic will bear.

I didn't appreciate being charged over $50 a night for potential charges to the room. When i book a room online i expect the rate and charges to be what i agreed to. Charging me over 50 a night then not returning the funds for 3 to 5 days is a rip off. Because of this i will never stay with the chain again. My business has been lost due to the inconvenience of the convenient surcharges that may or may not get returned.

I found the staff to very non helpful. I am a travel healthcare worker. I don’t get off work until 2am. I asked for a hour later check out. I was told that they could not do that because they were booked for a wedding. I didn’t check out until Monday. There were only 10 cars in the parking lot when I left. I also don’t know of Monday weddings being a popular thing. I have stayed at this property 8 times. This had never been a problem before. The manager on staff Saturday was put off by letting me check out an hour later.

Easy check-in, clean, pool although small (like most hotels), but the best was the little restaurant with a fairly large variety of food. I was grateful after a tiring flight to be able to get a good meal in the hotel. Kudos!

Only two minor “complaints” were the tvs in the room were outdated and no complimentary breakfast. $17 for a subpar meal seems a little steep. I ended up going down the street for $13 a person and received way better food.
