The Standard, High Line New York

The view from the gym on the 17th floor was amazing!

It was a very nice hotel. Our room was a little larger than most New York City hotel rooms. We had a waterfront view of the river and really enjoyed it. There was a close steamer in the room that very much came in handy for my blazer for our formal event. The restaurants down below are expensive but everything in New York is expensive. The food was excellent.

there was construction and nobody told us. le bain also closed, nobody told us. the walls are not soundproof and it woke us up. unbearable construction while walking down the halls. eerie noises too, felt a bit haunted

Great hotel! We were upgraded to better views and loved our rooms. Amazing views of Hudson River and downtown skyline. Great location. Hip people. We ordered steak from room service and it was insanely delicious. Pleasantly surprised that the food quality was so great. The location is really great. The cafe/restaurant downstairs is really nice and the Biergarten is fun. Chelsea Market is a block away and it’s a short walk to Chelsea/West Village/SOHO/Greenwich. Will definitely come back.

The exterior is a New York hotspot with restaurants surrounding the hotel. The entrance is slick as well as the lobby. Staff was accommodating. For such a pricey hotel I expected a smart tv in the room with streaming platforms. The room was spacious with a beautiful and huge soaking tub with a glass partition that makes the king room feel like a suite. The mid century furnishings added a twist of elegance and efficiency. Room service was prompt and professional. Food was presented with style and pizzazz. Restaurant was well appointed with professional and friendly staff, an exceptional food experience. Located at the end of the High Line, near Chelsea yards, plenty of shopping, Little Island and a 5 minute walk to the Whitney museum. Be sure to grab free Friday Night tickets to the Whitney, an awesome NY experience.

The hotel is fantastic, the rooms are cool with all the top to bottom windows, and even got an upgrade to a corner suite. Staff were super friendly at check in. One big problem was that in the evenings, only two of the four elevators up to the rooms were in service. There was a huge line of people waiting for them in the dungeon-like hot hallway, it felt surreal and people got very grumpy and impatient. The wait was very long and felt longer because it was such an unpleasant area to be waiting. Not sure why that was but it happened both evenings I was there.

One complaint - please explain access to the roof bar. It wasn't made clear to us that this space was available to us before the nightclub kicked in. Otherwise, the space was great and will be better when the construction is complete on the patio.

Hotel Staff was incredibly nice and helpful! The restaurant staff are not welcoming and our group ended up just leaving. This is consistent with our stays at the hotel where we have not once dined at the restaurant and last time getting drinks on the patio was a painful experience.

Got to the room and found someone’s panties in the bathroom. $300+ a night and no one saw the dirty drawers sitting there. Got breakfast room service and the coffee showed up separated with chunky almond milk. Manager was nice and comp’d the food. But you can’t unsee someone’s underwear in your room - did they even clean up before we arrived? Subpar for the price.

Very nice hotel, very clean & staff were great!

Sadly the property has gone downhill a lot vs. 10ish years ago. Rooms are dated, smell bad (cigarette smoke masked by air fresheners) and you can hear music all night long.

I was excited to finally go here but there were some issues that I feel if they fix will def make it a 5 star. The stray hairs upon arrival, 4 in total were not fun to see but I am not a complete stickler. But once they were in the tub, by the couch, and table I was kind of put off. The toilet didn't really flush correctly but I finally got it after. The bed is low, if you are tall so be mindful. The sit-in area near the table has dust, hair and a tooth pick. Lastly the lights were not tended too in terms of cleaning because once I turned it on at night to read and eat, I had flurries or dust migrating on the table flying all around so I couldn't eat there like I had started while reading. Last thing was, there is only one plug which is by the tv, but also 5 out of the 6 towels had stains. The area is lovely, the outside is nice, the inside of the entrance was cool. I expected more for the price. Also the edge of the mattress was stained. I wish I had a better experience.

We recently stayed at The Standard High Line for eight nights, and while the hotel has a lot going for it, there were a few significant issues that impacted our experience. First, the positives—the staff were absolutely incredible. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful, which made a big difference throughout our stay. That said, there were several maintenance and infrastructure issues. Upon arrival, our TV didn’t work, though it was promptly fixed. The lights in our room were flickering, and the carbon monoxide detector started beeping late at night, requiring staff to come and remove it. The biggest problem, however, was the lack of hot water in the mornings. We later learned other guests experienced the same issue, which was frustrating, especially for a stay of this length (8 days). Additionally, the room was not well-insulated—there were visible gaps around the door, which meant we could hear every bit of hallway noise at all hours. This made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, while the service was excellent, the number of maintenance and comfort issues made the experience less than ideal. The hotel has potential, but these issues need to be addressed for a truly seamless stay.

Hotel is beginning to look at bit worn out. Small rooms, carpets with stains, shower didn’t work well and is not easy to step into. Low water pressure in the shower and while showering the water would also run into the bathtub, wasting a lot of water. Shower has a glass window into the bedroom, so no privacy. People can bring pets to the rooms, so we were unlucky and had dogs barking next to our room all day bc someone left them alone. The upside is the neighborhood, it’s great with good shops, Chelsea Markets etc.

The rooms are really clean very nice setting great atmosphere building super clean hallways super clean bathrooms beautiful.i will be coming back ohh and the view is amazing

Our experience at The Standard High Line in New York was disappointing. As a group with four rooms booked, including the suite, none of us were satisfied with our accommodations. In the room we stayed in, the bathroom had black tiles and no light, with visible mold. The bathroom was directly in the room with no door, and there was carpet right outside, which gets wet while you’re in the shower. Overall, our stay was not enjoyable, and we would not recommend this hotel.

The room was absolutely filthy and in need of a refurbishment. There was hair in the tub and the prior guests underwear under my bed. The carpet was covered in stains

I’ve stayed here many times over the years. The property is quite tired and needs updating. Sink broken, dripping tap. AC very noisy.

Great location. Comfortable bed. Room felt dated especially for the price. No smart TV, bathroom tiles are getting old, small refrigerator filled with expensive hotel goods. You're pretty much paying for the location. I would stay there again but id like to see some upgrades.

The hotel is in a great spot south of Chelsea and north of Greenwich Village. It does feel a little tired in places to be honest. Word of warning about the rooms: We booked a Corner King room. The pictures on the website make it look like these rooms all have incredible views over the Hudson, a gorgeous big comfy sitting corner and a beautiful bath. When we arrived we had been given room 410 which had none of these things. It was low down, facing the city, had a tiny bench and no bath. We complained and the manager was pretty unhelpful. He told us that all the corner rooms have a slightly different design. And revealed that actually the room that the pictures on the website depict doesn't actually exist. None of the rooms with baths look over the Hudson, only some have the comfy seating corners. Turns out we had the one room that had none of these things. This room should NOT be sold in the same category. We told him this, he didn't offer much of an explanation. So avoid room 410. We were eventually moved for our second night onwards to room 1210 which was great. This was the room we had booked (still no comfy corner seating area) but beautiful bath and being higher up gave us great views of the city. And all the staff we then dealt with were super lovely and helpful. So by all means stay here. But just make sure you double check with the hotel before arrival which room you'll be in. Because you could be in for a very disappointing arrival

Great Hudson River views, excellent location, smallish rooms

We stayed at the Standard Highline for a week from Friday to Saturday. The hotel is centrally located with great shopping, food and beverage offering right outside. However it comes with some drawbacks. At check-in we were given a room on the 4th floor supposedly far away from the noise from the standards own night club on the top floor however it turned out to be right above the neighbouring Brass Monkey and the music on their rooftop terrace was so loud that we could sing along to the songs in our until 2 am. Saturday morning we asked to be moved to another room and they gave us a room on the 7th floor still facing the Brass monkey but further away. Saturday night Brass Monkey was slightly better but still very loud and once the brass monkey music stopped at 2 am we could hear and feel the pounding of the drum and base from the Standards own penthouse club until 4am. :-( Sunday there was still music but the stopped early because of the rain. Monday to Wednesday it was great with no music and thursday and Friday night it was again loud music. So if you are a light sleeper this is not the hotel for you. The Staff were very friendly and tried to help us however it is a bit of a Las Vegas experience.

The hotel was nicely located. Not sure was worth the price. The space was sufficient and the bed was comfortable. The shower was open to the room with a large glass window between it and the bed which was awkward as I was traveling with a friend.

We had a 'deluxe queen'. Loved, loved, loved it. From the views to the awesome tub, the funky elevators, the location...really special.

The room was very misleading. Queen size bed is not a queen…more like full size. There is very limited space to store clothes besides 3 small shelves in closet. Good for 1 person , not two. Stayed on the 10th floor and could hear the DJ from the rooftop bar until early morning hours. Would not stay there again. Not worth the price. Many other better places to stay.

Great views and a good location in the city. I have stayed here several times before and it feels like the upkeep of the property is slipping. Not anything major, just lots of little things that feel like they should not be issues in a higher end hotel. The one issue I mentioned to the front desk was addressed promptly. Also be aware that on the higher floors (15 and up), the bass from the nightclub on the roof is audible.

Pro: the room was exceptionally quiet - as a light sleeper I anticipate poor sleep in a NY hotel room but this was amazing. Con: the room was small, the bed low and the clear glass walls of the shower, which is in the main part of the room may not suit everyone. Note that there is an additional $30 facilities fee (non-optional) per night for 2 bottles of water and WFI.

We spent the weekend celebrating my partners birthday. Our view was amazing and housekeeping was on point, but our lights were so dim and kept flickering! I also was disappointed in the lighting in our bathroom. Maybe we have old people eyes? Also, I know most people are out and about but we spent one night in and tried to cast to our TV to watch a show, and the room technology did not allow for that. Also, we didn’t have a coffee maker. However, it’s right over the High Line and in a great location. I love that part of town!

Several channels were blacked out, the guide doesn't work, and being limited to only a handful of channels nowadays when at the room trying to relax and enjoy the evening was disappointing. Also the waiter with dark curly hair the very first night we ate downstairs implied that tap water was not an option, and only still or sparkling water was available. The following morning the waiter offered tap water as an option and we realized that we got sold. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant again due to being upset with spending $18 on water the first night that should've been free. The room and hotel were clean, and the hotel staff were great!

I have stay at The Standard NYC many times on my visits to New York. This visit was "off" from a delayed check in (arriving at 5:45 pm and receiving our key at 7:00 pm) to empty body wash container, carpets a little worn and an unusual loud AC unit. But still love the location. I'm not sure if it is new management or not. The wait staff at the outside bar were all very friendly.

Really nice hotel and our suite was beautiful! It was the Hudson studio junior suite which I had booked weeks in advance. I was just disappointed when I checked in around 7:30pm and get to my room and it was not cleaned, mind you check in was at 3pm I checked in 4.5 hours later. The night manager Savanah was very nice and offered to put me in a different room but they didn't have any rooms with tubs left and I’m sure weren’t priced for the one I had reserved and paid for already so I told her I had a dinner reservation and I would just come back and she promised it would be ready and gave me $150 credit to use in room service or dinning. I used it for breakfast the next morning for about $70 dollars. The next day I saw a charge for about $27 dollar on my credit card for some things we drank in the mini bar but that should’ve been deducted from $150 credit they had gave me for the inconvenience. All in all it’s a really nice hotel and the suite we stayed is a must get if you stay there.

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Everyone in this hotel is lovely, kind, helpful, and a problem solver. I had the pleasure of interacting with a number of people over a multi-day stay and this hotel is one of the best I have ever had.

It’s not worth $600 a night. They have multiple roof top bars that keep you up until 4am. Any hotel that provides ear plugs as the solution is a joke.It also took 40 min to check in and at first they gave me a key to someone else’s room (there was luggage in the room when I opened it).

We have stayed at this hotel for many years but this will be our last unfortunately. We love the area but the checkin for our 6 night stay was poor. The room was shabbier than normal and when I asked about changing the guy on reception was again not bothered. The bar was closed when we went on one evening despite saying that it was open. Just felt there was a lack of care so disappointed. The view from our room was good but otherwise the hotel is definitely not what it was.

One of my favorite hotels in nyc for the vibe and the views. The staff are kind and considerate!

Liked: convenient location, “wet room” style bathroom. Disliked: pre-checkin encouraged by text was pointless, room not ready at checkin time, not notified when room became ready (had to check back hours later only to find it had been ready for a while).

Lost 2 days because of elevator issues and poor communication! Unacceptable

Stay was fine. It's location really, closest to where we needed to be, however, it's the second time that the hotel charges my cc used to reserve instead of the cc's showed at property, which creates issues for me in the back end. Will stay at Dream next time, the Standard just won't fix the problem and states that are doing everything right, despite being the only hotel that pre-charges first night when selected 'pay at property'

Great location by the High Line. Brilliant views of the Hudson and restaurants and bars very close by. Upgraded for a better room view, for free. Room had a very big bath and power shower. Very comfortable room. Warning for those suffering vertigo.

The Standard Hotel has a great location in the Meatpacking District right next to the Highline, Hudson River walk/bike, Whitney Museum, and 10 minute walk to the subway. The room was clean, comfortable and felt bigger due to large windows and a view. The staff were very helpful and the hotel Standard Restaurant was great. We had a great stay and will return.

Great place and location

The Standard Highline is a great hotel for being right in Meatpacking/Chelsea/WestVillage. If you manage to get a south facing room you will have a great view of the river, Manhattan and Little Island. The hotel and rooms are stylish, but that is sometimes at the cost of comfort or functionality. The elevator is pitch black and nobody can read the numbers, the keycard is black so is most of the furniture, so be ready to look for that often. But overall a great spot to stay and discover the walkable neighborhoods around.

Great from checking in to departure. Restaurant was great along with lounge drinks. Roller skating was cool. Near everything. We shall see you again soon

Very expensive for one night. I wouldn’t say the hotel lives up to what they charged. It is a very nice hotel in a great neighborhood. They have an excellent breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Rooms have an interestingly stocked mini-bar. Short walk to Little Island, which is a must-see, if you’ve never been. I’d stay again but would wait for a more reasonable price if I had more flexible dates and locations.

The hotel itself was excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful, although it was let down by the quality of the dining area and general food quality. I did not regard the food to be on the same level as the quality of the hotel.

We enjoyed our 2nd stay very much. Location, Room service and La Plaz food were great. DJ playing great ambient grooves, world beat & classics set the tone for good evening chats. All this plus a short distance from Little Island and The Highline. Keep up the good work...

This was a great stay. Good location, helpful and friendly staff, great river view and a great bathroom. The furniture was a little worn and and could do with some touching up. It was an expensive stay, but acceptable for NY. The $200 a night deposit wasn’t communicated very well and feels a bit steep; I expected it to be $200 for the stay. That being said, I would happily stay again.

Website stated the restaurants were open until 1am and 2am on Saturday. We went out of our way to get to the hotel by 11pm to east and were told all kitchens were closed by restaurant staff. The hotel staff had no idea. Nothing else to eat around that area. We were told to order room service and that was terrible.
