Has seen better days. Not very user friendly with some floors accessible by stairs only. Newly painted rooms. Bathrooms in desperate need of refurbishing, old plumbing that smells, aged tiles, taps etc. Furniture in room has stains. The beds are comfortable, they have blackout curtains and aircon. Woken up by staff trying to enter room(!!) Would we stay again, probably not.

This property is a bit sad now, as it’s been given no love. It’s a heritage building and is showing its age, but that’s no excuse for peeling, flaking paint and lack of cleanliness (does anyone check the state of the floor in the lounge bathrooms?). It was a grand design, meant to be filled with people, but now many of the lounges are shut down due to lack of visitors and staff. Some staff (not all) are clearly unhappy and it shows (Belgravia Lounge in particular- check the management there); I think they need much more support. And can you not do better than an array of fried foods or sandwiches for the snack menu there? The only alternative early in the week is the high end restaurant, and that’s too expensive to dine there every night. Seriously, give the staff and the property a lot more love.

This is an older building with wooden floors so try and get a top floor room to avoid hearing someone walking on the ceiling all night, but be warned there is no lift. We had a 2nd floor room with a partial valley view and great view of the roof. The high tea was a disappointment with some aged Vietnamese rolls that had gone very firm and chewie and not so fresh bread. It was a holiday so maybe the kitchen had closed down and serving from the fridge, but at night this is a hatted restaurant so I expect a little better. Interesting no one asked if we enjoyed any of the meals as we left dinning room on either occasion we dined in. A few little touches might make this hotel a great hotel. When hotels hold out to be "special" I always test service against the BA tea service and see how a waiter puts down the tea cup, handle so I can reach it or just any old how. In this case "any old how" but that\'s not at all uncommon and not a criticism, just an observation.. Overall a nice stay and it was fun but perhaps once is enough and ticked it off the bucket list.

Room was quite small and you could hear all of the plumbing quite loudly through the walls. Stair cases with suit cases and bags is definitely a pain. Place what quite nice otherwise. Roadworks also let it down, but of course that is not the hotels fault

Beautifully renovated building with a high end luxury feel. We loved it! The only draw backs were the roadworks outside and the fact that there is no lift. Window are double glazed so it was still very quiet in our road facing room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dining room is elegant. Food privey but good quality. We would definitely recommend.

It's rare to find a place to eat that has both a good view and high quality food. The hydro majestic has both. The rooms were clean tidy and offered great views. Rooms are small. The outside of the building looks like it could do with some maintenance, but inside was beautiful. Lots of construction on the road at the moment. They have electric car chargers which is great! Would help to mark the ground to make it clear for other guests with non-ev not to park there. Or take guests car and rego to ask them to move out of ev charger spot.

We enjoyed a 2 night escape from the city and were delighted with this gracious, fascinating hotel. The history of the Hydro and the beautifully updated interiors were an unexpected bonus, also, the charming bar with spectacular views. The delicious breakfasts, again with stunning views left us disappointed we had other plans for dinner. The staff were all friendly and professional and our room was well furnished and immaculate. We look forward to another stay.

The historical aspect of the property was lovely. However, there is no lift in the hotel, so if you have dodgy knees etc try and get a low floor room. Whilst our room had a lovely view, the room was dirty. The sheet on our bed had dirt, black hair and other stuff on it. When we showed reception the photo they we not interested. Had wanted to stay there for years. Wouldn’t again.

The view was very nice. Lots of nice big halls but all are empty. A hall called "Casino" did not have even a poker machine. Not much to do there. Aircon did not work and it was very cold. Very poor. The room was rather small. Position of TV is ridicules. Not on our list for returning there.

The hotel itself is nostalgic with areas and features that are reminders of times gone by. The breakfast in the dining room completes the experience. I Choose a room with a view, otherwise street noise and freight trains going past all night will disturb your sleep. Hot water pressure is inadequate during peak times, eg morning before breakfast; it may be worse in the higher floors. Would not be coming back in a hurry.

A wonderful location with expansive views across the Megalong Valley. The property makes full use of these, from the rooms, dining room and lounge. Its an odd collection of buildings joined together, with many indications of its heyday which is being largely restored. The rooms are quite small, but comfortable, and there are plenty of public spaces to relax in.

We had a wonderful experience at check in. We were disappointed in the property not having lifts. If we had known this with my over 80yo parents we probably wouldn’t have stayed. The rooms were very small with no view. The breakfast service was terrible and a very long wait for eggs or omlettes (about 30 mins). We would not stay here again. For the price it was not worth it at all.

We were really looking forward to staying here as I had been to the afternoon tea in the past and the area is beautiful. The rooms are small and outdated, but are fairly clean. The staff were rude, specifically the front desk staff, which made the experience unpleasant. The rooms are too small to have a meal in your room and there is no where to eat on the property if you have any outside food. When asking the front desk if there was a place to sit together with other family members staying in other rooms the Indian lady at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful and at first told us we could not sit anywhere other than our rooms and then changed her mind and told us we needed to buy two beers to sit anywhere on the property other than our rooms. She made our whole experience with this hotel unpleasant.

From check in to check out, the service at HM was impeccable. The Front desk team, particularly Marcus and his phenomenal knowledge of HM's history, was incredibly educational and entertaining. Thanks to Marcus and his knowledge, we learnt so much about the history of HM and it made our experience so much more endearing. Every team member assisted us with our enquiries regardless of their allocated/designated work areas (Theresa!) and the rooms and facilities are sinply breathtaking. Thank you Marcus and the entire HM team for making our stay so much more memorable and one we will never forget. We will be back very soon and look forward to creating so many more fond memories here. An absolute 10/10. Thank you!!!!

Our room was clean and quiet and the hotel itself quite beautiful. We stayed for two nights on a Monday and Tuesday and I wish we had of known ahead of time that the hotel’s Boiler House is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as was the Cat’s Alley tea room and bar. These were all facilities we were looking forward to enjoying so I would caution others to consider this if you are thinking of staying on a Monday or Tuesday. Dinner in the Wintergarden was really lovely and the view amazing, very pricey and you will leave hungry though so you will want to have a snack before you go. The breakfast is buffet only and it is not worth the price, the breakfast service is limited and understaffed so food was not restocked and our coffee took so long we were not served it until after we had finished out breakfast. There is a cafe at the hotel that I. Would suggest is a better option but again, it was closed in the mornings while we were there.

スタッフの方が皆さん親切でした。ワーキングホリデーで働いてる日本人の方も何人かいて、英語があまり話せなくても安心して過ごせます。素敵な笑顔とテキパキと働く姿がとても印象的でした。High Tea（アフターヌーンティーのイメージです）が有名なので、訪問の際はぜひ注文されることをお勧めします。ホテルから眺める景色も良く、名所のTheee Sistersも車ですぐです。Three Sistersの近くには多くのレストランとスーパー(Woolworths)もありました。ホテルの駐車場は無料でした。部屋で提供されるレモンジンジャーティーがとても美味しく、併設の売店で購入して帰りました。また訪問の機会があればぜひ宿泊したいです。良い旅の思い出になりました。

We stayed overnight in a heritage view room. The room definitely had the view and was clean and comfy. They are heritage rooms do a bit smaller but everything was there we needed. There is a lot of roadwork occurring just now outside the property but once inside this isn’t a problem.

Due to heavy duty road works the property is suffering with mud around. I was never advised about the state of the area. The room is quite small for king bed. I had to duck to get to my side of bed.

Food was exceptional. View spectacular, make sure you get a room overlooking the valley and not the road front as there is major noisy construction going on. Staff were outstanding and so friendly. Highly recommend nearby Blackheath village for cafes and shopping.

This hotel is absolutely stunning! It exceeded our expectations. To step back in time into a beautiful world that is preserved in each wonderful room was a real pleasure. The staff were very helpful. It is a million dollar view from all windows. Dining in the Wintergarden Restaurant was excellent, delicious food & perfect service.

This is an iconic hotel. The room was small but extremely comfortable with incredible views. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel was full of antiques and amazing guest areas. The restaurant was in a room with stunning views and the food was excellent. Breakfast had good variety. I can not express how interesting this hotel was.

For the price we paid per night there should have been a mini bar in the room (as stated on website) or at least biscuits with the limited coffee supply. Also no ice facilities in fridge or hotel. Rooms are small and outdated with only a coat of paint over the old furniture. The bed was comfortable. Realise it was a long weekend but shouldn't be told the only option for dinner was the three course meal at $115 per head on top of paying $400 per night for the room. At $12 per bottle of beer that means the hotel is making $288 out of a carton of bottle beer that would cost $60 max to buy is a bit rude. At that price breakfast should have been included. Would be a great facility if you had nothing better than splash cash.

Closing the Boiler House restaurant for dinner Sat to Tues feels like they are trying to forcefully "upsell" the Wintergarden restaurant. Coupled with the insistence of a minimum of 3 courses ffor dinner on a Sat left a very bad taste in the mouth.
