Reading previous reviews I was worried our stay would not be a positive one. I need not have worried. Yes the hotel was basic and tired looking but the bedding, towels and bathroom facilities were spotless and the staff super helpful offering advice where to eat, adjusting our bed from a double to two singles and talking us through the door locking process. I can see how the room would be hot in the summer as the windows were fixed but there was an air conditioner unit in our room to address this. If you want a cheap one night stay in a great location this is absolutely fine.

This is my third stay at this hotel and the first time I have had any problems. I was given a room initially for which the entry code did not work, necessitating a return to reception. This was resolved but then the television had a dodgy ariel connection meaning I got no signal. Another return to reception. A member of staff initially fixed it, but within seconds the signal had gone again. Another return to reception. I was given another room and, in this one, the wall switch for the heater was impossible to turn on, meaning I had no heating during my stay. Other than those issues, the bed was comfortable, room and shower area clean and perfectly acceptable.

Central location but incredibly tatty room. Missing and damaged furniture. Weird stains that looked like poo up the wall in the bathroom. No bed side tables, just a random coffee table one side, curtains that wouldn't close and were hanging off rail. Very busy road one side railway line the other had a horrible night's sleep. Website advertised onsite parking but when we turned up gates were locked so had to find alternative elsewhere. We were sent room codes that didn't work so utterly pointless. Ended queuing at reception with all the other people whose codes didn't work! Pretty rubbish overall.
