Beautiful place if “lavish” for me. Great staff, super clean, amazing bed and shower, really nice breakfast. Get a room overlooking the water. I ate at The Library Bar both nights (January; very very few options) and It was fine as well as the service. Wineries within walking distance and decent trek right from hotel into the hills

O que deixa a desejar e o restaurante que é pequeno e existem poucos lugares necessitando reservas com muita antecedência. We enjoyed this hotel. We had a lovely room with a terrace overlooking the Douro River. Dinner in the luxury dining room was excellent but expensive. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. The pool was nice. We enjoyed the town with winery visits and boat trips. The only really odd thing was that the bottom of the shower door does not come to the floor and water flooded the bathroom floor. This happened to our friends also, so it was not just our room. You learn to stand in one small spot to wash. Odd, I would say.

Beautiful place with very professional friendly staff. I had a lovely stay. This place is centrally located and can walk (or hike) to many Quintas nearby. Very clean and comfortable. The Breakfast was great. I had dinner in their restaurant with some modern twist- fantastic experience. If you like peaceful yet comfortable place with old charm- highly recommend.

Anna greeted us upon arrival and not only checked us in, but walked us to our room. The property is wonderful, clean, well attended and in a perfect location. Staff are always available and smiling. Não é um hotel 5 Estrelas. Quarto triplo para o meu filho não tinha terceira cama e sequer toalha e travesseiro. Não disponibilizam o Vip Acess. Meu Check in atrasou 1 hora, ninguém para ajudar com a bagagem, funcionários mal educados. Quarto velho com carpete, banheiro desmontando. Já frequentei pousadas no Brasil melhores.

Huge but ageing wine country resort with massive rooms and tired furnishings that had all seen many better days. Service non-existent and although one Porter was very helpful, other staff were consistently uninterested or resentful of visitors. No in-house dining other than buffet breakfast and little outside dining options available. What appeared on the website was a luxury resort but we were very disappointed and we would not recommend.

Beautiful old hotel. Property outside with the vines making a garden is very romantic. Close to many wineries, we even walked to some. All staff speak perfect English. The rooms are large, our bathroom in the Junior Suite room was huge, with a circular step in shower/tub. Balconies are small with no room to sit and relax with 2 tiny uncomfortable metal chairs. The view from the balcony/hotel is just Ok, not what I expected since the hotel is at the bottom so all you mostly see are the large boats parked in front of the hotel. It’s the same view from the pool and restaurant since the hotel is at the bottom not the top of the hill. Breakfast is excellent, huge variety, good service. My biggest concern is the quality of the AC. Ours barely worked and was already set to the lowest rating of 5 degrees Celsius by the prior room occupant. I knew there was no point in complaining since another guest was arguing about AC in the lobby when we checked in. In our room there was not even a AC vent in the bathroom and it felt like a sauna after trying to take a shower. When I mentioned to the staff that they need to completely gut and replace the AC system, she said it was replaced last year, so something is really not working well. There is also a train that runs next to the property during the day but not at night

The hotel is best located on the Douro very Unic but it’s doesn’t make sense if the room is very old and the air conditioning is old and only makes noise but doesn’t work and doesn’t cool the room!!! You can’t sleep!!! It’s very expensive and don’t worth it!!!!!

O hotel é maravilhoso, lindo, limpo, organizado. A equipe super educada, solicita e simpática. O serviço de meia pensão inclui o jantar, que estava DELICIOSO. Porém, uma coisa me deixou extremamente desgostoso. É uma região historicamente quente ao verão. Visitei de 29/07 a 01/08. Temperatura externa próxima a 40 graus durante o dia e 30 graus durante a noite. Inadmissível não ter estrutura de ar condicionado que consiga resfriar o suficiente o quarto e ser considerado um luxury hotel. Durante as noites, o quarto permanecia acima de 27ºC e o máximo que conseguiram fazer foi me fornecer um ventilador (ventoinha) para colocar no quarto.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in The hotel and the area. Service was great. The breakfast delicious and the hotel restaurant was amazing. The room was comfortable and a good size. The only things we would rather to be a little different to make our time there pristine was the air conditioner that it wasn’t cooling the room enough and the head shower that was the loose ones you find mostly in Europe. All in all a really good time.

As a Gold Member we were entitled to a bottle of wine from the hotel, but the strict woman in charge of the reception said NO, she never heard of it. She demanded to see our confirmation and upon showing it to her, she still refused. After a couple of hours, a friendly colleague of her brought us a bottle og wine. All the rest of the staff were nice. The room was ok with view of the river. Breakfast did not have a lot of options but was ok.

Perfect spot in Pinhao to explore from. Reception was brilliant and accommodated holding our bags until the room was ready. They provided early check in so we could enjoy the afternoon at the pool. Every staff member was courtesy and welcoming.
