The property is located in a interesting area close to restaurants and some shopping. the only downside is that there is neither an elevator or ramp to the upstairs rooms so dragging a suitcase up is challenging.

Woke up every morning and took a walk to the beach which is about 2 blocks. Comfy bed and beautiful room. The staff was friendly. There is a few for parking but i was able to find street parking.

The rooftop deck was a fantastic place to watch the sunset. Without firepits or heaters, it was a little chilly, but it was beautiful. The room was wonderful, and the staff members were friendly and helpful.

This was such a good hotel for us. There are two coffee shops VERY close by a cafe donut shop and a couple other shops. Best of all the beach is right across the street, 8 minute walk and that’s with 2 toddlers. They offer beach items to take for the guest at NO EXTRA charge. Just take your clothes and you’re set here! Would Definitely stay again.

The location can’t be beat. One block to the ocean, and the rooms are very clean and decorated beautifully. Breakfast includes a muffin and juice each morning, which can be enjoyed on the most beautiful rooftop deck overlooking the ocean.

My wife and I stayed overnight — we loved everything about our stay. The rooftop was peaceful and a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset. Short walk to a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and the Seaside Market. Staff was friendly. The ability to “check out” records to play in the room was a pretty creative perk, too. We were first-time guests, but we plan on being repeat guests in the future!

Immaculant hotel overall— room, patio, walkways, etc. best beds we have had away from home in years. Staff very professional, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend!

They did an amazing job creating such a nice place. Pro: Roof top, Prosecco when we arrived, muffin & healthy juice in the morning, decoration in the room, record player, walk to beach. However, we were sad we got 1st floor room, very dark room with only one window facing corridor. If we open the curtain, there is no privacy. So we had to close it but it’s so dark. I would suggest to add more lighting in these room. And it had old motel type of smell even though the room is very clean. It’s pity because they did amazing job everything else to elevate your stay. Receptionist lady was super nice. Still recommend this pace but get upstairs room ;)

Hidden gem! Clean, quiet, tastefully decorated rooms. The upper deck is awesome. Only complaint is we only stayed one night and didn't get to enjoy it enough. We'll be back!

Our stay was very much tainted by the noisy gate that was directly below our room. Every time someone came in and out of the gate we could hear a horrible noise. We asked to move to another room. This new room was located over the “Shanty” which is a restaurant/bar for the local area. It was also noisy because of the music playing until at least midnight. Our first room was also disappointing as the shower did not drain. For some reason the tv wasn’t working either. We were booked for two nights ,but we didn’t stay mostly because of the noises.

Staff was friendly and welcoming from check in to check out. The light breakfast (muffin & fresh pressed juice) was a lovely touch. You can sign out nice beach chairs and towels too which was convenient! Beds and pillows are comfy, linens clean and fresh. Older hotel that’s been recently renovated - only negative is the slow drain in the sink & toilet. Would stay again for sure.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cardiff by the Sea Lodge. The recently upgraded property is beautiful and clean. Our king bedroom had pretty decor and even though we were on the first floor near the lobby, it was quiet. The bathroom cabinetry had intricate wood carvings, the shower had decorative tile and we had nice, hot showers. We liked the comfortable bathrobes, and having a record player in the room was a nice novelty. We also liked that we could walk to the beach, restaurants and a coffee shop nearby. Very good location three blocks walkable to the beach. Relatively quiet at night considering the location is right next to a bar and over an alleyway in back. Rooms are comfortable but minimalist only one chair with cushion in the room. Basic breakfast, two Costco muffins and watermelon juice. Staff was available but not friendly did not greet you first did not ask how things were going, were not able to offer suggestions for restaurants ornearby activities. Housekeeping staff Adriana was very helpful

Beautiful remodeled property. The suite was SO worth it. Tons of space and lovely view of the ocean. The service was wonderful, from the champagne at checkin to the fresh juice and muffins delivered to the room, they didn’t miss a detail!

Not worth the cost of the room (Just under 500.00) even on Breeders Cup weekend. There is no insulation in the rooms and the guests above must have been wrestling or fell multiple time! At this price point I expected more luxury and better guests with hotel etiquette. I had to call to even find the location and where to park. Wasn't my cup of tea but front desk clerk Jenny was very friendly.

Just be aware “Ocean View” is a loose term. I was on the 1st floor with a roof top view with the ocean in the distance. Ask for upper floor for less roof more ocean.

Great view of the beach, nice roof top. Anthony was very friendly and provided Excellent customer service. I would definitely come back here and recommend family and friends.

It was lovely and the staff were accommodating we had a shower issue and reported it at 11am by 5 a plumber came and fixed it. Sheets could be nicer but room size and comfort overall were good.

My wife and I spent our first anniversary here and it was a delightful little hotel. The room was fantastic. The bathroom was beautiful, from the fixtures to the tile. The furniture was very tasteful and comfortable. The staff were so friendly, greeting us by name each time we entered the lobby or saw them on the property. They took very good care of us. Cardiff is a wonderful sleepy surf town, just what we wanted. We will be back for sure.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The property itself is beautiful—well-kept, stylish, and relaxing. One of the highlights was the rooftop lounging area, which was the perfect spot to unwind and watch the sunset. Plus, the beach access was just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy the ocean any time of day. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Property listed as 330 S Cedros Solana Beach CA…..It’s an office building . I called to inform of late check in, but desk clerk said she was leaving at 10 pm. Left instructions how to get key from “cubby" but we could open locked gate. Met a person in parking garage who said she didn’t know of any hotel. We had to call front desk who NEVER answered or returned my call. End result, had to rent another room for the night.

Woke up every morning and took a walk to the beach which is about 2 blocks. Comfy bed and beautiful room. The staff was friendly. There is a few for parking but i was able to find street parking.

The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the beach. The area has a laid back feel to it which we enjoyed. Lots of dining options within a 5 minute walk too. The hotel is fairly basic overall but clean and comfortable. You can get complimentary muffins and freshly made healthy juices in the morning which is a nice touch. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room so you have to go down to the lobby to get one. The lobby has this convoluted coffee machine that takes forever to produce half a cup so you end up having to do it twice to get a coffee! A pot of drip coffee would be a great addition for the morning rush of guests. However there is a nice little hipster coffee shop right across the street if you want to go buy your own which I ended up doing. There is a rooftop patio which is great for watching the sunset over the ocean. There's a mixture of seating up there but it would be great if they had some loungers to relax on as well as the wicker seats.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cardiff by the Sea Lodge. The recently upgraded property is beautiful and clean. Our king bedroom had pretty decor and even though we were on the first floor near the lobby, it was quiet. The bathroom cabinetry had intricate wood carvings, the shower had decorative tile and we had nice, hot showers. We liked the comfortable bathrobes, and having a record player in the room was a nice novelty. We also liked that we could walk to the beach, restaurants and a coffee shop nearby. The best part was the rooftop area. We enjoyed beautiful views of the ocean! Also, they delivered complimentary juice and muffins to our room in the morning. Beautiful remodeled property. The suite was SO worth it. Tons of space and lovely view of the ocean. The service was wonderful, from the champagne at checkin to the fresh juice and muffins delivered to the room, they didn’t miss a detail!

The place is very cute, rooms are roomy with very stylish furniture and comfortable bed. The staff is super friendly and helpful from the front desk attendant to the cleaning staff everyone was very nice. The place feels very personable. I have to say the front desk is located in a room surrounded by big windows with excellent view of the ocean, great coffee maker that grinds the coffee beans and a comfy seating area where you can enjoy your coffee and breakfasts which consists of a natural juice (amazing choices loved the green and the carrot turmeric one) and a muffin. Loved the place dream of coming back ❤️

You can sign out nice beach chairs and towels too which was convenient! Beds and pillows are comfy, linens clean and fresh. Older hotel that’s been recently renovated - only negative is the slow drain in the sink & toilet. Would stay again for sure.

I was very pleased with the attention i received from the front desk upon my arrival. I was really pleased with them keeping an item that was left behind had more sentimental value than the actual monetary value and i was able to pick it up days after. This place is quaint and well located. I enjoyed my stay.

We had a lovely stay at Cardiff by the Sea for my birthday staycation. The property is very quaint but the rooms are rather large and spacious. We treated ourselves to a partial ocean view and fireplace which was fabulous. The staff is also very kind and helpful and they offer complimentary wine upon check-in and continental breakfast in the morning! Lastly, the location is simply ideal as you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach within 5 to 10 minutes. Highly recommend!

What a gem of a spot in Cardiff-by-the-Sea! We loved the suite with the ocean views. The rooftop is a great hangout and work space. Bonus is the walkability to the beach, nearby Seaside Market, and the Coastal Rail Trail. We will be back!
