I didn't like the fact that the room doesn't have a washroom, it's in the hallway with the shower 😳 and not elevator to go to the room

I really liked the access and location. Didn’t like the shared washrooms and neighbors during my staying. Overall it was good.

Very normal outdated room. No parking. Shared toilets and showers.

The property’s location is excellent, offering convenient access to shopping malls, public transportation, and restaurants. However, the building is older and lacks an elevator, which means guests need to carry their luggage to the front desk and their rooms.

You get what you pay for. Room was nice but dimly lit as two bulbs were blown. AC was complicated to run but worked great. Shared washroom like a hostel. No soap or towels there. You must bring from your room. Of the two washrooms on level three one was never available and the other had burnt out lights and the toilet seat came off easily from the toilet. Breakfast was apples, no name breads, cereal and that’s about it. Not sure why other reviewers raved about the breakfast. I mean this place is basically one up from a hostel. The location is right downtown so be prepared for some nearby sex shops and even a strip bar. On the other hand everything is right outside the door for dining, metro, the jazz festival and so on. It’s cool to have a pedestrian only area right out front too. All in all I give it average rating. Don’t stay here if you can’t handle stairs or want convenient parking.

No elevator

There was no lift available and whole space smells so bad . We asked them to refund bz we had not checked yet moreover my frd had medical condition she can’t go up by stairs .

PROs: Very convienent, close to everything. Free hot and cold water. Free continental breakfast. The room was spacious. CONs: It was hard to find during the night. There's no lift - not advisable for older people who have big bags. The shared toilet was untidy. No accessibility. Noisy and loud neighbourshood. Squeeky bed and floor. VERY OLD building.

There was nothing good about this place. We ended up leaving and formfitting our two night stay there. The sheets were full of hair and lubrication stains. The bathroom had mould, cockroaches, dried pee on the toilet seat and bowl, the sink and counter area was full of toothpaste spit, empty containers ntainers, garbage, the tub had mould all over inside. I would NEVER recommend this place.

You pay for what you get. The Hotel lobby and hallways STINK. They smell like mold. However, I don’t think you’ll find a better option for the price. The room itself was quite clean and did not smell of mold at all. I wouldn’t stay here again, but if you are looking for a CHEAP hotel that provides a clean bed and a clean shower, I recommend this place. Free breakfast included. Banana, apples, cereal, bread, peanut butter, Nutella, coffee, milk and Orange juice. 2/5 overall. Again, if your only expectations are a clean bed and clean shower, you’ll be happy. Anything else and you’ll be disappointed. Happy travelling!

It was not clean and was smelling really bad in the room and bathroom. Toilets were not very clean either plus it had a very bad odour.

This is a budget oriented hotel, so it's hard to be too nit picky, but I will say is this. If you really value a clean environment, this is not for you. Carpets are dusty, stains in a lot of places (including in one of our bed sheets), there was a hole in our floor near the wall, bathrooms are communal and while some are clean, others can be dirty depending on who was using it. Floors are creaky and you will hear people walking in the hallway at night if you are a light sleeper. The air conditioning unit was ok, it was not as noisy as I thought from what others have said, but I found it didn't even work that well. Anyways I can go on and on, but in summary I wish it was just a bit cleaner. I understand this is not the most expensive hotel, but those carpets look like they haven't been vacuumed in the last decade, and overall there should be at least a little bit of upkeep. If you really just need somewhere to sleep and you don't really care about anything else, then it's a good pick for you. The good things I will say is that the person at the front desk was friendly and they have someone there 24/7, and the hotel is in a good location.

Vents in bathroom were full and I mean fully coated with black dust. Overall building smelt damp with a faint smell of mildew or mold. Maybe run an ozone machine to purify the air, remove some of that lingering musty smell. As for the front desk, it would have been helpful if they knew that just a street over there are two 24-hour parking options that don't cost $45 a night for when, like me, a guest arrives past the time that their "recommended" parking lot closes. Which is 10pm. This left me scrambling after midnight in a city that was completely foreign to me surrounded by sketchy drugged out homeless people and aggressive vagrants trying to find a place to park my car for the night so that it didn't get broken into. I was told by front desk that he could assure me it wouldn't get broken into. I didn't ask, he just told me that. I guess he's got a guy to crush skulls, because otherwise I don't see how that would have been possible. Out of town plates, car packed to the brim with luggage. Seems like an easy target to me. On top of that, if you don't find paid parking and you end up parking on the street, you better be prepared to wake up prior to 7:00 a.m. when they start handing out parking tickets.

Chambre pour 4 : sale, miettes, serviette avec poils, draps avec des taches et des trous en fin de vie, couvre lit avec d'énormes taches jaunes, salle de bain séparés extrêmement sale, robinet déglingué, pas de tapis de bain, bac à douche plein de cheveux, climatisation très bruyante et odeur désagréable en entrant dans la chambre. La moquette des escaliers et des communs sale, grosses taches. Petit déjeuner qui n'a rien a voir avec un petit déjeuner continental. Servi dans des bols, assiettes jetables. Literie correcte mais alèse avec des taches jaunes.

L’hotel è posizionato nel pieno centro di Montreal. La camera è spaziosa e viene offerta colazione gratis al mattino. Purtroppo la mia camera, nonostante fosse al terzo piano, non era silenziosa e sentivo tutti i rumori della strada. Pulizia scarsa (polvere ovunque e lenzuola macchiate).

There is a bad smell of oil (heating system) in the lobby. Carpets are so dirty. The room was ok but not more.

Fine property, beds were old and thin but did the job. Loud guests at 4am with no way to contact front desk remotely. Fine experience

It was quiet and clean and the location was unbeatable, however it is definitely more of a hostel than a hotel, with communal bathroom/shower, and also no fridge in the rooms for cold drinks/water.

I loved the high ceilings, & classic architecture. A very simple layout-bed, sink, & cabinet were all that I needed. Separate bath & showers weren't busy when I needed to use them.

Great location if you wanna be located downtown! Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great, but no fridge so keep that in mind. Air conditioner was a bit loud, but kept room very nice and cool when it was hot outside.

This property is marketed as a “hotel,” but it is in fact a hostel. Our booking through Expedia included this accommodation, and we felt seriously misled. The room contained only a sink and a single, very firm bed, with no private bathroom. Shared facilities are used by up to 20 rooms, and loud music continued until 4 a.m., making it nearly impossible to rest. While this may be suitable for students or travelers specifically seeking a party atmosphere, it is not appropriate for adults looking for comfort or sleep. The room was uncomfortably hot, the air conditioning was nonfunctional, and the windows would not close, allowing wasps to enter. Towels were worn to the point of being unusable, and the overall condition of the room suggested little to no upkeep since the property’s opening. We were attending a wedding and only staying for two nights, which left us with no time to change accommodations. Unfortunately, it was two nights too many. I would not recommend this property to anyone seeking a proper hotel experience.

Great location. Inside the room it’s a strange layout. The sink is on the other side of the room from the toilet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was poorly maintained. Knob off of the closet door, etc. TV did not work the first day. Staff came up and spent 15 minutes rebooting on the second day. TV did not work the third day. Room finishes and decor were less than optimal. I wish I had stayed in the Double Tree about a block away. It would have cost more, but it would have been worth it.

Stayed for 3 nights in late June 2025. Positives: Relatively inexpensive. Well placed for centre of city. Clean white bedsheets - thank you. Negatives: My visit coincided with the Francos festival. There was very loud street music every night until late. On the last night it continued to 2am. The room's sound insulation was non-existent. For me this was really bad, even my silicone earplugs couldn't stop the noise. There were stairs only, no elevator – this was not a problem for me but might be for others. Stair carpets were badly worn and dirty. My room black out curtains were damaged so that light entered room at 0530. Room air con worked effectively but was very noisy, I switched it off and just used the fan. The nearest shower had 3 lights but only 1 worked and that light was so weak that, when I first arrived, I showered almost in darkness. The room sink was partly blocked and very slow to discharge. On my third night I got about 6 insect bites on my face. Breakfast was basic but, at this price, acceptable. Staff: three different young ladies at reception were helpful.

This hotel needs to make it clear in its description that there is no elevator and only has stairs to access the rooms. I booked with them as it was in a convenient location for my trip, only to find out about the this terrible inconvenience by reading through the reviews after i made the reservation. I immediately tried to cancel, and was refused by the hotel. They would not let me cancel even when i expressed ny concerns about having no elevator and that i was physically not able to use stairs. Terrible customer service. BEWARE.

Great Staff! They handle such a wide breath of issues while managing the day to day operations all while doing it efficiently and with care. Raises and/or holiday bonuses should definitely be considered.

Saw a rat on the terrace. The room itself was filthy, though the location is great—close to everything. The beds really need updating. The AC was so loud it kept waking us up. Only one tiny stove burner worked, the fridge was dirty, and there were broken stoves just left in the hallway. The stairs are extremely steep and unsafe. One night, the entire stairwell had no lights—it was pitch black and dangerous to walk up and down. Staff were unhelpful and didn’t seem to actually work there. No cleaning service was provided during our 3-day stay nor seen at all.

Ok here is the honest review and i will mention both good and bad. Good part: - The area where it is located is surrounded by clubs and party places. If you are into party and late night clubbing, you might wanna book around the area. - The rooms are sound proof from outside noises. So even if you are not a party person, your sleep wont be disturbed - The staff is very nice. We had an issue with a room , and they happily changed it for us. They have a reception 24 hours and there will be a person to open the door even if you come back to hptel like 3 am at night. - This was the cheapest we could find in Montreal downtown. Bad part: - The rooms are horrible. Especially rooms on the 3rd floor. If you book this place. Make sure to request the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor shared bathrooms are broken and the rooms are very very tiny. - Cleanliness is not the biggest thing. The bathrooms are shared and therefore they should pay a lot of attention to the cleaning the bathrooms. People are nasty and wouldnt clean after themselves.

Rooms smelled unpleasant , staff was short and cold at check in . Bed linen hadn\'t been changed had to request a change upon arrival- Hair was found in bed and linen looked unwashed. Very close to attractions but you get what you pay for, small rooms and OK service. Says "24hr" desk service however I my friends and multiple guests were stuck out at the door we could not be buzzed in

The free breakfast was modest but adequate; box cereal and milk, bananas, toast and jam, good coffee. In some ways the location is excellent; one block from a metro station, two blocks from the Centre des Jardins food court & shopping center. But there is a club across the street where music is played until 1:00 am. Earplugs mainly solved this problem. My room was clean and comfortable but the shower stall was a little cramped. Note that the lobby of the hotel is on the second floor and can only be accessed by a flight of stairs; no elevator. For patrons who are not able to haul their luggage up long flights of stairs, this is an obstacle.

Pretty Middle -- Not horrible, not amazing, I enjoyed my time -- staff were super nice ! -- Very convenient in terms of walkability. However, please know you will be paying 40$ extra for overnight parking, in the parking lots around. so, remember to budget with this in mind! Homeless also hanging around right outside this particular area. Not aggressive people they just know where the tourists are obviously, and it makes sense I cannot fault them for this. Not a big issue if you are already from a big city, and used to this type of atmosphere, but I feel like it might be jarring to somebody not expecting to walk directly into it.

Initially we were very put off by the location (there’s a sex shop/erotika adjacent to the entrance to the hotel). Discovered that the location is good in terms of public transportation because the metro and bus are very close. Place de Artes is right there. I think this “hotel” is more the caliber of a hostel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was literally bread to toast and cereal; it was more limited than even a typical continental breakfast. Room was basic, cozy. The shower had pink mold and the floor needed a good cleaning (bottom of my feet were almost black after walking barefoot). AC unit was very loud! Towels were thin. If you’re on a budget, we recommend, but likely wouldn’t stay here again.

This small cozy hotel is located right in the downtown of Montreal in walkable distance to Old Port, Desjardin complex and Place Des Arts and Plateau. The hotel is clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Only one thing that dissapointed me was a selection of food items for breakfast in the hotel. The night life in that area is very busy so it could be noisy at night but this never bothers me. I found it relatively safe.

Due to flight cancellation and delay, I suddenly needed to stay overnight in Montreal. I found a hotel on Expedia, sorted by the cheapest options. It turned out to be located inside an old building with no elevator. After checking in on the second floor, I was guided to a room two more floors up, and just carrying my luggage up there was a struggle. The staircase was awful—steep, with worn-out carpet, and the hallway felt so unstable I worried it might collapse beneath me. I nervously entered the room, only to find the floor visibly slanted and the lock so flimsy I couldn’t tell whether it was actually secure. Given that the area already seemed sketchy, I felt extremely uneasy. The shared shower room showed no signs of recent use, and I was worried that someone might break into the room or the shower while I was bathing and steal my valuables. In the end, I didn’t even take a shower and checked out after just one night. The breakfast, however, was properly prepared, so I’ll give credit for that.

Très bien situé, propre et calme, chambre spacieuse. Gros points négatifs : Nombreux escaliers mais pas d’ascenseur. Petit déjeuner réduit au strict minimum, j’ai vu des gens faire demi tour lorsqu’il ont vu ce qui était proposé.

I have read some bad reviews about the hotel. However, remember that this is a 2-star hotel. I am not expecting to see a 4 or 5-star facility. Overall, the experience was not bad - friendly staff, decent breakfast. The room was a little noisy - from outside noise. There are great shopping and dining options around the property and the location is great.

Thi place is good only if you want a place to sleep. They charge for breakfast and give you bread and jam. Rooms are not at all like the pics uploaded, they ste below average rooms. For the price you charge please offer better services and breakfast.
