SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charleston North

This was out second time staying here and the whole reason we keep coming back is because of the EV chargers and the great rate. Hotel is nice and clean and we appreciate the new renovations that were done since we last visited here.

Close to dining. Liked the free breakfast. Pool was small and area around the pool depressing.

You can't run a place without a team! Every since the moment I stood at the desk! I was treated like a human! Nothing but kindness! Thank you to the whole staff! You took me in gave me love, kindness, Now this is for the future guest! The pool holds 6 people it is not heated! It's not that deep but it's perfect on a hot day! Yes you will read bad reviews because of the parking issues! They had to repave it! It looks amazing now and is back up and running! Yes they have breakfast, please if you get to enjoy it clean up after yourself or leave a little tip. To the left of the building you will find 2 benches with a ashtray! Yes they have a gym it's small but it gets the workout done! They have 2 elevator's and 2 sets of stairs! They have a laundry room and don't get mad but you pay to wash your clothes! So if you're looking to stay at a place that has everything check down the road! If you're looking for down to earth, greeted with smiles, laughter this is the place for you!!

Hotel is great, but a tough location because you have to make a left turn on a busy road to get out. Also, they charged $3 a day to park in their parking lot. PRO TIP: decline the parking pass and park in the empty lot right next to their lot.

The rooms themselves are nice. The breakfast Buffett always includes waffles and oatmeal, they alternate scrambled eggs and premade omelets. The pool is rather small and has a limit of 6 people. The front desk could have a better attitude. Laundry on site for $2 each machine.

The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. However, we had to wait an hour to check in because rooms weren't ready at 3pm. We drove about 7 hours so this was frustrating. Also, treadmills didnt work. I had to walk across the street to use their gym. Nevertheless, 4 out of 5 stars

Pool was closed and it was not on the website and there were no signs besides the on the pool door. We specifically chose this and payed extra so we would have a pool.

The lobby AC wasn’t working the whole 3 nights we stayed there. It was so hot at breakfast!! No clue why it wasn’t fixed by day 3. Luckily our room was great. Indoor pool was so cold but clean.

Disappointed the pool was closed for our entire stay. When we checked it they said it would be open until 11pm at night. We came back to swim that evening and it was closed. It was also closed in the morning all the way up until when we checked out. There are a lot of other hotels in that area and we chose this one because of the indoor pool which we enjoyed when we stayed there last time. Staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was ok.

I liked the location. I did not like that there is only ice machine and it is on the first floor. The shower cover on the rod was loose and the mini fridge needed to be defrost, was unservicable. They did not make up the beds, just replenished the wash/towels. All stairway doors are inoperative - rear of the doors are damaged and are opened at all times. The cost of items are over priced.

The staff was extremely friendly. Everyone we saw greeted us with a smile. Our room could've been cleaner. My comforter had remnants of a glitter glue on it. There was old blood on one of my pillows. The bathroom door didn't completely close and the water in the shower was always cold. When I called the front desk about the cold shower, I was told that the water was cold due to the number of people showering at 10:30 pm. When my daughter and I tried showering in the morning, the water was still cold even when we moved the temperature to the hottest setting. Ibcalled the desk again and was told the same thing. No one offered to send anyone to check on it or change our room. We were only there for a few days, so I didn't mind keeping my room as long as someone fixed the water temp. I was told no one was there at the time to deal with it. When no one showed, we tried the middle of the afternoon and the water temperature remained the same. I think if someone would've shown more concern about our cold showers, I would've rated higher.

The hotel was clean. There was always someone cleaning something. Had black mold on the wall beside the ac unit. Had roaches in the bathroom. Most of the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Closed the pool down on the weekend for cleaning? Probably not the best day to do so. Offered us to go to the outside pool at the neighboring hotel. How awkward....The area is not safe. Unhoused everywhere. The staff had to pick up outside alcohol bottles etc. left behind. Our truck was broken into and items stolen. Camera signs posted but no cameras. The staff told us to go talk to the neighboring businesses to view their cameras. So be sure to park close to the front entrance under the lights. The area is about 30 minutes from all attractions. We enjoyed Folly beach park and watching the ships go down the bay.

The hotel needs a total upgrade. The furniture in the lobby is outdated; the seats are peeling. I can only speak to the room I was in (221), the mattress was horrible. It had a soft spot in it that felt like I was sinking into the bed. The tub had a huge brown stain and was chipping. A few members of the staff were very friendly.

Got a big cockroach in the room. The exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work.

Every thing looked clean but when looking closely there was hair in the shower and the tub was a but slippery like its not scrubbed down also on the sides of the toilet there was drops of urine but my main happiness was there was no mold oder when i stay at hotels I'm so sensitive to mold the color scheme was nice and relaxing/inviting

The room was nice, and appeared to be clean and smelled fresh. Prior to checking out we stripped the bed and that's when we were grossed out. The sheets themselves were clean. The mattress cover and mattress was severly stained. Otherwise, I would have given the property a 5 star. Please clean the mattress and change the mattress cover in room 335.

Great staff very clean

There was a lot of construction taking place around the hotel and it was raining so the journey in was a bit messy. The parking leaves a lot to be desired, as the spaces are sparse and small. Upon arrival, the person who greeted us was extremely kind and friendly. After entering the room, I noticed that there were several questionable stains on the dark brown sofa. I then proceeded to look around the bathroom to see many small hairs on the floor. I also, observed stains on the comforter that were the color of blood. During the night the room got really hot and muggy, as if the air wasn’t working properly. The phone on the table was old and dirty. Lastly, when exiting the hotel, the front desk staff were talking to each other and were rude when we said goodbye.

The room was not the size on the website, the full breakfast was not at all and the pool was closed the entire time. The rooms were not cleaned and therefore my family was attacked by roaches and ants! SMH, I will NOT Abe staying here ever again

From the moment I arrived until the time I left, this hotel provided the best customer service. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Our room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere felt inviting. I had just checked out of another large chain hotel due to its disappointing cleanliness and service, and I was given a full refund. Coming here was a much better choice—not only was the price more reasonable, but the customer service was far superior. The only area I’d suggest improving is offering a wider variety at the continental breakfast. Other than that, everything was excellent. The front desk staff was outstanding, especially Tamarah and the African-American woman with glasses and curly hair, who checked us in on Saturday at 1:00 and checked us out this morning. She was absolutely amazing, and I wish I had caught her name. Overall, I’d give this hotel a 10/10 and would absolutely recommend it!

Their so-called suite is about the same size as a regular room, but is partitioned into two areas with a wall without a door. Space is cramp When the trundle bed is opened, there’s not much free space to walk around or just sit down. Space is cram. There’s a microwave, small fridge, and sink. Air conditioner is loud when switching on and off. Property is ok, but may need a little update. Breakfast is adequate with the usual items.

Room was clean and the layout large.

The front desk was very friendly and enjoyable. The bathtub was less than favorable. It had yellow stains and small holes in the grout between the tiles. I stayed on the 3rd floor and loud thumping sound from the occupants directly above us was constant all night and early mornings. It was extremely irritating.

1 mattress had a foot long gap down the center. No other rooms were Available per front desk. They offered to have staff rotate the mattress and someone looked in the storage area for a replacement without success which was disappointing.

This is a continuation of an earlier review with a second booking. I forgot to mention the rumbling A/C unit. The lights above the bed didn't work. A light switch didn't have a plate. Room 418

Room was a terrific size! It had a living area with a desk, a small fridge, and a microwave. It also had a small walk-in closet. Only negative is that the tub and shower curtain had some light stains. They should be replaced. Very clean!

The tv is in an akward location on the wall btw the beds and office area (suite room). One member of our party slept on the couch/bed and noted the mattress was ok. The traffic in the area is terrible in the morning. Both Forest Dr and Ashley Phosphate Rd are very congested. I26 into Charleston has a lot of stop and go traffic. Plan for extra time to make it to events. The area behind the hotel is not very appealing. One morning there was a dog that barked non stop and the next morning, there was a rooster crowing for 30min.

The rooms r out dated but so comfortable

Springhill Suites by Marriott is a clean hotel. The staff was friendly. Tamara was the young lady that checked me in and she was friendly, professional,and very helpful. She provided me a list of great dining options in the area. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit in my room was loud, which resukted in me getting very little sleep. Tamara was willing to chnage my room, but because I had sat on the bed, someone would have to clean that room so I chose to stay. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. Its also conveniently located near the interstate.

Not a great location. Noisy - you can hear people in the room next to you. We love SpringHill Suites, but this one was not on the save level as other locations.

Awesome stay. We needed directions and called the front desk for help. Management stayed on the phone the whole time while giving us directions. Staff friendly and courteous. Room was very clean. Enjoyed our sta. Will be returning in the future

The night desk clerk was awesome. However, the day desk clerk was terrible. She was rude, LIED to my husband about checkout time, then lied to him again when he called corporate office to double check that she was incorrect about her information, she lied again. She was training a new employee and had no business training anyone else on how to do customer service. She was rude, unaccommodating, sprayed aerosol freshener around the breakfast food, lied to her customer, and refused to allow them to speak with management. Worst service ever. How is it there are people who are more than willing to do a great job and customer service, and waiting to have a job while this person is being paid to care less about the customers and company she represents?! Unacceptable.

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in decades. The check-in process was unpleasant—the front desk agent was speaking in a heated tone to someone on the phone when I arrived. Although she stopped talking out loud, it was clear she kept the caller on the line through her AirPods while checking me in, even relaying what she was doing with my reservation due to an issue. While she wasn’t rude, she certainly wasn’t friendly or professional. The staff at this hotel lacks good customer service skills. The room itself was unacceptable. There was a large orange stain in the bottom of the tub. The shower curtain rod was coming loose, and there was yellow liquid oozing from underneath the toilet and from the base of the wall near the bathtub—absolutely disgusting. I also found a black roach-like insect in the tub in the morning. The furniture was cheap, and the room was bare—no decor, not even a single picture on the wall. The hotel’s location did not feel safe. Several places we went—including the nearby Circle K gas station—had armed security stationed at the door. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. Food items ran out and were not restocked in a timely manner, leaving guests waiting or simply going without. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid it. I assumed that because this hotel used the Marriott name, it would be decent, but it was far from it. This is not a hotel I would recommend.

the staff was very friendly

Didn’t even stay here.. accidental double booking and the manager wouldn’t even work with us to issue refund or at the very least issue credit for one night to use another time. Won’t ever book a stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott ever again, as they don’t seem to be about customer service. And the phone lines weren’t even working for 3 or more days so had to go by hotel in person TWICE trying to get this issue corrected satisfactorily. Very poor customer service!

Front desk staff are the best and we travel a lot. Housekeeping are all so nice and friendly and professional. Top notch employees at this location. We will be here for a whole week and so glad that we chose this hotel. Thank you to everyone that works here.

So clean and friendly! The team went above and beyond! I left my iPad in my room and was afraid I would miss my flight if I went and got it, so they ran it up to me, at the airport!!! Literally amazing stay!!

When we first arrived for our week long stay it was a little rough and had to change rooms due to our bed not being really clean. But after talking to Tamara at the front desk she was more than helpful to make our trip better. The next day i experienced watching how hard all the workers worked at their jobs and believe our one experience was just a fluke. Everyone from house keeping to food service was so pleasant and were always hustling. The one employee though i feel need to recognize though was Tamara. The entire week we would actually look forward walking into hotel after a day of sightseeing to tell Tamara about our day or just talk to her. You have a shinning star in that one! We will be back next month to stay again visiting our son who is in the Navy. Thank you to your entire staff!

Upon arrival we were greeted with warm smiles. The front desk staff was super friendly. Asking about our day as we walked through the lobby. Always asking if they could do anything for us. Everyone, was kind and professional. It felt like coming home after a day out. This was the best customer service and most welcoming staff of any hotel I've ever experienced. The accommodations were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and will absolutely stay here again if I return to Charlotte.

The staff at the front desk was top notch. Customer service was on point. Always a smile and great anytime you walk in and out the door. They always ask how is your stay going how was your day. I mean I can go on and on about these ladies. Awesome I wish I could have family feeling customer service like this every where I stay. Great job ladies. My family had a great time. Breakfast was great housekeeping was great.

Everything was great but it is near an airport so expect some late night noise

Check-in was quick and easy. The room and lobby were clean and neat. Shower pressure was great. Location is good close to highway and many food and shopping nearby.

This is a perfectly fine hotel, but it backs up to a marginal residential neighborhood. If you stay here, make sure you request an even numbered room for the front side of the builiding, and not the back. Otherwise, your alarm my be a dog at 5:45 a.m.

We had a great stay at this hotel, the staff were all extremely kind and welcoming. They were on top of everything. The hotel is clean and maintained. The area had a couple odd folks walking around but we felt safe. Plenty of parking. It’s conveniently located right by the freeway. The room was plenty big for the 6 of us. The breakfast was great and they continue to refill everything until the last minute unlike other hotels you have to race to at 6am to get the good stuff. The pool was small but worked out so the kids didn’t get distracted wanting to be in there forever. The guests were all clean and quiet as well. Lots of families and working folks. The only draw back on noise was a dog that lives behind the hotel, it barked for a while one morning. Not the hotels fault though, just ask for a front facing room. The AC worked great and the water pressure was amazing. I would absolutely stay here again, the price and kindness of staff can’t be beat!

Convenient located near downtown Charleston (15 min) with easy access to I-26.

To much traffic and homeless in area

Area is a little sketchy. Staff was good. Rooms are showing wear. Overall, fine.

We were only there the night before and a few hours after a flight. The staff at the front desk was very polite and seemed to know the area well including food places. We picked this place based on price and location to the airport. Will consider this place again when in the area.

Hotel was good. We liked that our room had 2 beds and a sleeper sofa. The sleper sofa was not a real pull out though and the tv in the room could not be seen from all beds. 2 would have been better. The closet was a big walk in! The breakfast was good. The area was not the best. I would not walk around the property at night. Many places close early in the area like fast foods, etc. But we had no issues.

Zero complaints. Friendly staff, comfy beds, clean, good variety for breakfast, great location- great 2-night stay!

This property was conveniently located to downtown Charleston after a short drive. Rooms were well-appointed and clean. Minor repairs needed here and there. Breakfast was super crowded and difficult to find seating. Food was good!

The rooms were clean, the breakfast was great but the front desk workers were exceptional. They were cheerful, informative and very helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The stay and room was very nice. My husband often has to get up in the night to sleep more upright. The extra chair could have been more comfortable (really wish hotel rooms had recliners.) Also, the coffee was pretty bad. But the breakfast selections were very good. Really liked the blueberry scones.
