Not all rooms had air conditioning. We arrived on a hot summer day and were given a room on the top floor. It was intolerably hot even with the small fans they provided. They couldn’t move us to any of the smaller rooms with air conditioning or offer any form of accommodation so we left and spent the night elsewhere. No refund

All I need was the air conditioning and they didn’t have it. When we try to cancel it and go somewhere else they didn’t even want to help. It was such a terrible experience. This hotel got no air conditioning except the lobby area

Conveniently located within steps of the train and bus station with restaurants nearby. Quadruple room (sleeps 4) was a tight squeeze with 2 adults and 2 teens but doable for a night. Shower walls could use a good cleaning. Restaurant was tasty and most staff were friendly. One server was obvious in her dislike for Americans.

Checked in, when walking to the room there was a naked man standing in a wide open doorway. Room was very small, no air conditioning, and not clean. We did not feel safe because of the naked man and we immediately checked out to find a better hotel. Hotel Bernina refused to give us a refund. Did not feel safe at this hotel.

The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Check in was super easy. The room was spacious and the bathroom also was large. It was very clean, well maintained and everything worked perfectly. The breakfast was very good. It is right outside the 2 railway stations but there was no train noise. A super convenient location. My wife and I stayed 2 nights and would stay there again. Highly recommended.

We were in Tirano for one night, we arrived from Chur in the Bernina Express. The room we stayed is PERFECT for two people, but we are a family of 4 adults (we are tall) and it felt quite small, including the shower, this is the only reason why Im giving 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, the room was very clean and it is right next to the train station which was exactly what we wanted. The hotel restaurant offers a very good dining selection as well.

Comodossimo per l'esperienza del trenino rosso del Bernina. L'hotel si affaccia sulla stessa piazza delle stazioni dei treni (stazione italiana quella gialla nella foto dal balcone dell'albergo e svizzera quella di fronte). Ricca colazione. Ambienti puliti. L'unico appunto la stanza eccessivamente calda (non abbiamo trovato un termostato per poter abbassare la temperatura) e l'isolamento acustico non sufficiente (fastidioso quando l'ospite sopra la tua stanza si mette a passeggiare, spostare sedie e preparare la valigia prima dell'alba).

This hotel was convenient for train stations and an early Bernina Express train, however staff were not very friendly, room was tiny and very dated furniture wise and boiling hot with a fan, no a/c. Alsi lack of sockets in room as the mini fridgw and kettle shared a socket and once fan was plugged in, left 1 socket for cbarging phones etc.

The one night stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The fact that it is locted right next to the train/bus stations was the best feature of all! It is an older hotel but kept clean and tidy. The receptionist was efficient and very hospitable. We told her we will miss our breakfast due to the 6:50 am train we had to take. She took the initiative to prepare two to-go bags with snacks and drinks for us. However she forgot to inform us to check out the night before departure because the desk would be closed until 7:30am! This little oversight caused a small panic for me. At the end, I just left the room key with a hand written note on the receptionist desk. Hope this will all work out at the end.

We loved this hotel. It was clean and fresh. The temperature was well controlled. The staff was absolutely excellent. It’s right by the Bernini Express train station, so it was very convenient for our day trip to St. Moritz, and our return to Milan.

Because of the weather I tried to cancel my reservation for Jan 28 2026. The Hotel denied my request, and Hotels.com didn't help. The route was impossible to use because an historic snow storm, so it was impossible to arrive to Tirano. I just lost U$S 180; the Hotel now have my review and Hotels.com just lost a 20 year customer.
