Middleton Inn, Manchester

Just booked Middleton Inn again due to its convenient location, clean and tidy rooms, decent parking and friendly staff.

My stay at V Lodge was far from ideal. Upon first glance, the room appeared acceptable, considering it’s a budget stay and I wasn’t expecting luxury. However, as the night went on, I noticed red stains on the carpet, and upon closer inspection in the morning, it became clear that these were blood stains. Additionally, there were small traces of dried blood on the shower wall in the bathroom. Security was also a concern—the chain lock on the door was broken, seemingly forced open at some point, and the bathroom door showed visible damage. The walls throughout the room were stained, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect. Also there was no kettle (not an issue to me but they had coffees and tea there), the bedside light had cobwebs and dust on it and there was no hairdryer. To make matters worse, around 11 p.m., loud arguing outside disrupted the stay and made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I did not feel entirely safe during my visit. While most of the staff were accommodating. On a more positive note, the parking felt secure, and the location was decent. However, cleanliness and maintenance need serious improvement. I would not recommend staying here in its current state, but with better upkeep, the hotel has potential.

The property is reasonably priced. It is clean; however, the rooms and hallways appear somewhat worn. It is inconvenient for clients to enter the pub next door to register their vehicles each day. The property should implement its own registration system for the security company.

The price was reasonable and it has a good sized car park. The room was very dated and not very clean. There was only one plug outlet available in the room making it very difficult for charging devices (there was 3 of us oncluding one child so we had a few) The room was however spacious.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Reception is the only clean part. The stairs are old, dirty and had cigarette butts on them, INSIDE on the way to the room. First impression of the room, dirty. Made me feel itchy. There were no bulbs in the lamps, no batteries in remotes. The windowsill was damp and mouldy, the curtains dirty and smelly. The bath and sink were dirty, old and had HAIR in them. The bathroom door handle fell off as soon as it was touched. The bed very uncomfortable and stained. Holes in the walls. I spoke to the ‘manager’ about all of it and I told him I didn’t feel comfortable having my 2 young children stay there. I wanted a refund and I booked another hotel, cheaper and much much cleaner. He was adamant to show me another room ‘with a door handle that works’ which was the only part he went on about and ignored the rest. He wouldn’t give me the refund but I have taken this to Manchester and Liverpool papers so far who have given me a time to share the story with them and send them pictures. I drove all the way from Aberdeen to this hotel and I will be taking it to other papers too and I will make sure nobody stays here. If I had got a refund I’d have left it but clearly they only care about their very over priced payment rather than their customers

Filthy hallways , bathroom was covered in mould , hot tap was hanging off , so no hot water , staff told me to boil a kettle !

Arrived early checked in well before book time witch was perfect after travelling long journey cheap and basic for the price hot showers if needed bad points ground floor didn’t want open windows because rat traps and untidy areas back and main entrance bottles cans ect mold on bath rails then walking out your room you can smells cannabis all night spoken to manger he replied it’s ok , just started spraying air freshener fuming by this point .young children and disabled adults staying here wanted to leave but took daughter to a concert and finished late got back packed checked out 8 am wouldn’t go back

Very dated, smelt of cigarettes all through hotel, bed was comfy and clean.

Found room to be clean and tidy. Adi was very helpful and was always checking if I needed anything and if everything was okay.

I had a very bad experience,the room was dirty,and smelly,there had no fans,it was noisy,and real real unpleasant…the bedding smelt …my husband end up having rash on his body…when I explained to the stuff and asked for a refund,there denied to give a refund……..I real wanna take it further

Perfectly fine for an overnight stop, I dont think the heating was working in my room (18) but there was plenty of hat water and everything was clean

Pretty sure this hotel is being used to house people by the council. Smelt of weed on arrival, tv didn’t work, no wifi (not provided), very noisy…cheap but not cheap enough!!

Overall it was amazing quickly good me to the room only down side was could have had a double bed rather than two single joint

It wasnt a bad stay fair for the price could of had an extra pillow or 2 but never the less it was some where to get your head down worth it i slept like a baby kids slept well as we had the family room 2 sinhle beds and one huge king size bed in the middle

No issue with parking. Staying ground floor is a nightmare as all the movements on upstairs is heard. Woke up from sleep as if horse racing is taking place over our head. No sound insulation at all.

As far as value for money on a Saturday night in Manchester goes it fitted the bill. Room was comfy with TV, en suite & tea, coffee making facilities. Staff I encountered were friendly & helpful. Encountered a little noise with squeaky floors from other guest rooms. On the whole I had a pleasant stay.

The hotel room is nice, compared to the aesthetic view of the property entrance and environment.

Wifi not working been down three days, hot water tap didnt work, poor shower. Reminded of a hostel not a hotel.

Hotel a little dated, but otherwise it was a comfortable stay, and very helpful staff

Working at parklife, lady at the hotel is lovely, friendly, helpful and efficient, this is our new place to stay at Manchester

We had a problem with heating and the women worked really hard and without complaining to sort it out. Amazing women.

Like the area. Hotel good. Staff unavailable. Need some extra pillows and bath soap. Called the number given for assistance, a man answered the call, told him about our needs, he completely denied said he cannot help he is in Liverpool. On the website it says 24 hour front desk service. Which was a lie. The man DID NOT help and he put the phone down. We had to sleep on low level pillows woke up with paining neck and shoulders. Will never go back. Very poor service.

Only problem was a Spanish school trip, children were running riot,but the staff on reception could not have been more helpful, excellent customer service

Fire alarm goong of at 2am, me and my partner had to leave the building with the reat of the people in the building for 45 mimutes until they could get one of us customers to fix the alarm, because of having no staff

Clean cheap good location

Hotel is ideally located for the motorway connection and for access to Oldham, Middleton, Bury and Hotel doesn’t look the greatest but never judge a book by its cover it makes up for it in clean and tidy rooms, value for money and friendly staff.

Hotel had a very bad smell in both rooms we had booked. Carpet was worn. Also room were very warm and humid. Only positive is that it was cheap and location was decent.

We stayed second time at the property and enjoyed our stay. We found it very convenient for our journey. I will stay again when I travel to Manchester in future. Staff very friendly and helpful.
