The top place to stay in Kiruna. The hotel offers a great range of cabin types and activities. We spent three wonderful nights there and were well looked after throughout our stay. The main hotel building is a short walk from the chalets and in there you can find the reception (open between 7am-11pm) , the tour desk, the gift and clothes shops, the bar and the restaurant. The Aurora Spa is in a separate building and a special rate is on offer for guests staying at Camp Ripan. We booked a 2-hour session in the second night and it was wonderful sitting outside in a hot spa under the cold and starry sky with each other. Probably the coolest (or coldest) thing that we have ever done in life. Situated at the edge of Kiruna, Camp Ripan allows easy escape to the countryside and provides some and quiet spots for Northern Lights chasing without going too far. The site is about 10 minutes walk from the nearest airport shuttle stop (OK-Hall). The Kiruna Church and the main bus station are also less than 30 minutes on foot. Further afield, the new city centre where the Scandic Kiruna hotel and the Town Hall are, can be visited easily using the local buses.

Great place to stay to relax after a full day of outdoor activities that are in minus 30 degrees Celsius in the winter, like Northern Lights watching or husky dogs sleighing in a tundra! This hotel has a great restaurant on premises and an amazing spa with hot pools, indoors and even outdoors!, steam room and sauna. I would definitely recommend Camp Ripan for anyone who would like to stay in Kiruna!

We had a nice stay with a clean chalet with enough space for the 4 of us and our dog. There is a nice playground for children. Breakfast was good with even some vegan options. Unfortunately the welness facilities (sauna/ pool) were outrageously high priced.

Wow. We had an amazing stay. The room/cabin was really cozy, heated floors made all the difference getting out of the shower. The trailhead to Midnight Sun was right outside our door. Restaurant served excellent dishes with very friendly staff. Lastly, the spa. It was incredible, there are 2 sessions spanning 2 hours. You will want the full 2. Various hot and cold sections with multiple pools and do-it-yourself treatments made the experience incredible. Don't miss out on this. By the way, we paid the same price for 1 night in the dorm like hostel at Turistation - huge upgrade. Recommend 10/10.

Dårlig reinhold. Var en go del støv på rommet og spesielt på sengavel. Sengklær hadde en del sorte prikker på seg. Fant flere brukte tannpirkere både på sengavel, samt på gulvet. Kjøleskapet var ikke reint. Var flere insekter som var ihjelslått og hang fast på flere vegger. Har en vei og gå for og bli bedre på reinholdet.

Staff were helpful and English excellent. The cabins are well designed and spotlessly clean. If you’re sick of your cabin there r plenty of spaces in lobby to sit, people watch (power points scattered around), look at snow. Neat gift shop and hires snow gear. Bar seems to be avail most of day. Food/restaurant excellent choices; the breakfast buffet is superb everything from health shots (beetroot with vitamins) to pancakes, yoghurt, even have wam milk. The only drawback is location w/out car … taxi fr train stn, airport bus is a 15min walk BUT if it’s snowed consider a taxi. Streets can be very slippery. I wish I had stayed longer - it’s the perfect place to relax. I would’ve stayed 4 days. No nearby shops etc if that’s your jam. Price was very reasonable esp as includes b’fast.

Personalet fremsto hyggelige. Vi ble positivt overrasket over at rommene egentlig var mindre hytter, hvor de var innredet med alt det nødvendige. De holdt ikke igjen på dopapir, noe vi har opplevd andre steder. Det som for oss derimot trakk oppholdet ned, er at vi fant brukte pastiller på rommet. Det glutenfrie utvalget var noe magert; lite variasjon i brødvarer.

Stugorna har fönster som ej går att öppna, endast små ventilationsluckor går att öppna och med dessa går det inte att vädra boendet tillräckligt på varma dagar. Stugorna är små, målade med mörk färg på utsidan och har plåttak. Det gör att de hettas upp inomhus extremt mycket. Att då inte kunna vädra ordentligt med korsdrag är helt värdelöst. Jag skulle aldrig boka detta boende mellan maj-september. Dessutom var stugan rejält sliten, även om det var ganska snyggt fixat med inredningsdesignen. Toadörren hade slagit sig så mycket att den inte gick att låsa. Toan hakade ofta upp sig och gick då inte att spola med. Frukosten var ok, förutom äggröran och bacon som inte smakade bra alls. Personalen var det inget fel på, men de kändes orutinerade. Saknade det där ”lilla extra” som kännetecknar ställen med glädje i serviceyrket. Om de ordnar öppningsbara fönster eller installerar AC så är det bara småsaker som återstår innan detta är ett riktigt trevligt ställe. Som det är nu får det bara betraktas som en nödlösning när allt annat är fullbokat.

Oppholdet var bra. Det jeg syntes var rart, var utformingen på toalettet. Toalettet var klisteret inn i veggen til venstre. Var såvidt plass å sitte. Glad at ingen av oss var venstrehendte, hadde nok fått problemer med å fått tørket seg. De hadde forresten en ganske god frokost. Det var 30 grader ute ved vårt opphold. Selv om det ikke er air condition på hotellet, så er det ikke holdbart at det er nærmere 35 grader inne på rommet! Dette gjorde til at natten var uutholdeig

Helt ok til å være på en campingplasser. Pluss: Meget god frokost. Elbillader på området. Minus: Det er veldig lytt mellom "hyttene". Det står opplyst at det er 2 soverom, mens det egentlig er 1 soverom og en seng i oppholdrommet.

We loved our stay at Camp Ripan. The cabin was warm and roomy with all the amenities. We like the upstairs lobby area for games and rest. We loved the Lobby Soup! The restaurant is pricey, but excellent quality and service. The Aurora Spa was a special experience. Thank you to Reservation Manager Fia for her special service!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let us check in early, which was great. The breakfast was very nice , tasty and aesthetic. The dinner was special and the service excellent. The cabin was simple but fine. The bed was very good. We were happy.

Very disappointed with pretty much everything except the SPA which is a true gem. Service and friendliness of staff is beyond bad and despite being requested to book what time we woukd have breakfast, it was filled with empty pans and plates. Had run out of pancakes, scrambled eggs and bread and refused to refill despite us being there on the booked time and some 20 mins before breakfast closed. Arrogant staff when i asked if there was more scambled eggs (there was a full pan of it with plastics over it behind the counter) and was told they close soon. I would give this place a miss and just use the SPA as a separate activity. Until staff is motivated to treat customers kindly i dont see why one should spend money there.

Staff were helpful and English excellent. The cabins are well designed and spotlessly clean. If you’re sick of your cabin there r plenty of spaces in lobby to sit, people watch (power points scattered around), look at snow. Neat gift shop and hires snow gear. Bar seems to be avail most of day. Food/restaurant excellent choices; the breakfast buffet is superb everything from health shots (beetroot with vitamins) to pancakes, yoghurt, even have wam milk. The only drawback is location w/out car … taxi fr train stn, airport bus is a 15min walk BUT if it’s snowed consider a taxi. Streets can be very slippery. I wish I had stayed longer - it’s the perfect place to relax. I would’ve stayed 4 days. No nearby shops etc if that’s your jam. Price was very reasonable esp as includes b’fast.

Camp Ripan is a treat! Great staff, lovely location, although the neighborhood is undergoing a bit of a transition. The breakfast buffet here is the best I've ever seen, anywhere - absolutely amazing. Also the beer selection is fantastic.

Hotel was good, warm. Cottages were enough big with all utilities except telephone. You cannot contact reception from room. Food was good. But there is only one taxi company in Kiruna and Hotel does not have any drop facility. So you should book your drop in advance with Taxi company else it is really difficult situation, Bus service in Kiruna is not great and very less frequency. I visited with my daughter to Kiruna we had great time in Kiruna. But we could not find taxi /Bus while going . We were about to miss our train.

It’s situated in a quiet area of Kiruna. Camp Ripan has good facilities as well for having a meal/diner and drink. Because the city centre is being moved about 3km east there’re not many other opportunities to eat/drink nearby.

This property is very unique in its location and amenities. However, if you don't like outdoor activities, this is not the spot for you. The staff were amazing, and super friendly, but you can't get to any local restaurants without taking the bus (10-15 minute walk one way) or ordering a taxi, which is expensive in the area.

The top place to stay in Kiruna. The hotel offers a great range of cabin types and activities. We spent three wonderful nights there and were well looked after throughout our stay. The main hotel building is a short walk from the chalets and in there you can find the reception (open between 7am-11pm) , the tour desk, the gift and clothes shops, the bar and the restaurant. The Aurora Spa is in a separate building and a special rate is on offer for guests staying at Camp Ripan. We booked a 2-hour session in the second night and it was wonderful sitting outside in a hot spa under the cold and starry sky with each other. Probably the coolest (or coldest) thing that we have ever done in life. Situated at the edge of Kiruna, Camp Ripan allows easy escape to the countryside and provides some and quiet spots for Northern Lights chasing without going too far. The site is about 10 minutes walk from the nearest airport shuttle stop (OK-Hall). The Kiruna Church and the main bus station are also less than 30 minutes on foot. Further afield, the new city centre where the Scandic Kiruna hotel and the Town Hall are, can be visited easily using the local buses.

Loved the spa and dinner, ability to rent ski equipment! Cozy cabin. I really wish they offered a shuttle to and from the train station, or gave guests a more intentional heads up about the limited availability of taxis. It was really stressful to get to our train on time afterwards when the only taxi company in town was fully booked. Tip to future travelers - either book a taxi far ahead of time, or find out the bus schedule and plan to walk to the bus station in time to take the shuttle from there.

Le buffet du petit déjeuner est fabuleux, mais le choix des plats du restaurant est trop limité. Le personnel a été très réactif sur un petit problème et tous ont été très sympathiques. La proximité d'Aurora Spa est particulièrement appréciable. Quant à l'hébergement il est confortable et "trop" chauffé à notre goût.

Wow. We had an amazing stay. The room/cabin was really cozy, heated floors made all the difference getting out of the shower. The trailhead to Midnight Sun was right outside our door. Restaurant served excellent dishes with very friendly staff. Lastly, the spa. It was incredible, there are 2 sessions spanning 2 hours. You will want the full 2. Various hot and cold sections with multiple pools and do-it-yourself treatments made the experience incredible. Don't miss out on this. By the way, we paid the same price for 1 night in the dorm like hostel at Turistation - huge upgrade. Recommend 10/10.

Everyone was really nice! The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was nice, it was in a lovely location so all excursions are basically picked up from the camp. I liked the utilities such as the spa, tennis etc. The room/cabin we had was very nice. Food was nice although I wish there were more varieties and options for dinner and lunch. We did run out of still water at some point so had to just stock up ourselves. I wish there was also more signs because navigation was tough.
