Claire, the owner/manager, is very friendly and welcoming. She gave us lots of information on the area and places to eat. Parking was easy, on the street near the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, servicing our room daily. The hotel is only 3-4 minutes walk from the cliff lift and paths down to South Bay near the Spa complex. Our room was large, with two double beds and two comfortable chairs to relax at the end of a busy day. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there should we visit Scarborough again.

Had a 2 night stay, checked in at 12.15 was offered parking permit £10 for 2 days which was a bonus. We were in a a room with 2 single beds which was on the top floor, 66 steps. The room was clean with ample storage and a well stocked tea tray. The bathroom was modern and clean with good toiletries provided. Only negative was could hear the people in the next room and could hear an extractor fan from another room whenever they used their bathroom. Would stay again if on a lower floor.

I stayed in a twin room with my granddaughter for 2 nights in a twin room which had a double and a single bed. We were very impressed with our room as it was very clean and spacious. The property seemed to be well maintained and I was able to park outside after purchasing a permit for £10 for 2 nights. My only concern was that there wasn’t a staff member present later in the day or first thing in the morning and I had to just leave the key on the desk when I left just before 9am, checkout is 10am.

Arrived friday and weather was lovely, when we arrived we were told we were in another hotel and being upgraded. The owners went through parking then we were showed our room. The room was so hot so throughout the stay we struggled but otherwise the room was lovely. We stayed 2 nights and there was plenty of info available for food and things to do.

Great spot, quiet area 10mins walk from town and close to the walks of South Bay. Free street parking. Good breakfast at their sister hotel across the street. Room not huge but fine for us and we’ll fitted out. Friendly welcome and plenty of local info available.

The hotel is clean . But a little bit dated . You have to go to the sister hotel around the corner for breakfast. The staff were brilliant. The service in the was very friendly food in the sister hotel was great i struggled to eat the large breakfast but the pancakes were beautiful.

Clean and spacious family room in a lovely part of Scarborough, within easy reach of town and the South beach but away from the hustle and bustle. Welcoming staff and room was clean and well maintained. The shower was very weak and our top floor room warm at night but a fan helped. Good value overall.

The Maynard is a very atmospheric hotel. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable, a perfect refuge at the end of the day. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was good. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly woman.

Nice period hotel. Clean, hood sized family room (room 12). Main bed was very comfortable, bunk beds were very squeaky, as was the bathroom door. The room is right at the top of the hotel so a lot of stairs to get there and only a small window which was too high to view. Could do with blackout curtains. Breakfast was at the sister hotel just over the road and was really tasty and plentiful. The hotel is a little out of Scarborough's main area and situated up a hill from the harbour. Really pleasant owner, good info book.

Stayed here for one night just me and my little girl. Lovely welcome upon arrival by the owner. Brilliant room, has everything we needed. Comfy bed and fresh towels. Fast WiFi and nice hot showier. Lovely and quiet throughout the day and night. No complaints. Would definitely return.

We didn't actually get to stay at the Maynard as they phoned the day of the booking to tell us they had an electrical problem which may not be fixed before we arrived. So they transferred our booking to the weston hotel at the same cost with free parking outside the hotel door, and next to the clff lift which took straight to the spa theatre which is where we were headind that evening free all day parking on the day of departure so able to enjoy the sun in scarborough, well impressed with customer service at both hotels excellent

Whilst the decor was a little dated our stay was great. Staff helpful and friendly. You can't get breakfast at The Maynard but their sister hotel on the corner was just minutes away, and you got a discount for being guests at The Maynard. Staff/Service excellent. The only thing i would say is my friend was unable to take a bath or shower as there was not a slip mat to assist in their safety.

The only thing i would say is my friend was unable to take a bath or shower as there was not a slip mat to assist in their safety.

The hotel is clean . But a little bit dated . You have to go to the sister hotel around the corner for breakfast. The staff were brilliant. The service in the was very friendly food in the sister hotel was great i struggled to eat the large breakfast but the pancakes were beautiful.

The Maynard is a very atmospheric hotel. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable, a perfect refuge at the end of the day. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was good. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly woman.

Nice period hotel. Clean, hood sized family room (room 12). Main bed was very comfortable, bunk beds were very squeaky, as was the bathroom door. The room is right at the top of the hotel so a lot of stairs to get there and only a small window which was too high to view. Could do with blackout curtains. Breakfast was at the sister hotel just over the road and was really tasty and plentiful. The hotel is a little out of Scarborough's main area and situated up a hill from the harbour. Really pleasant owner, good info book.

Claire, the owner/manager, is very friendly and welcoming. She gave us lots of information on the area and places to eat. Parking was easy, on the street near the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, servicing our room daily. The hotel is only 3-4 minutes walk from the cliff lift and paths down to South Bay near the Spa complex. Our room was large, with two double beds and two comfortable chairs to relax at the end of a busy day. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there should we visit Scarborough again.

Clean and spacious family room in a lovely part of Scarborough, within easy reach of town and the South beach but away from the hustle and bustle. Welcoming staff and room was clean and well maintained. The shower was very weak and our top floor room warm at night but a fan helped. Good value overall.

We were at 17 West also owned by the Maynard and were very well looked after in the recently renovated room 3. Breakfast in the cafe below worked very well.

We only had 2 nights unfortunately. We were welcomed and shown to our room . All our options were explained to us . We chose to have the breakfast. I can honestly say I’ve never had better . The service was excellent. Will definitely visit again .

Whilst the decor was a little dated our stay was great. Staff helpful and friendly. You can't get breakfast at The Maynard but their sister hotel on the corner was just minutes away, and you got a discount for being guests at The Maynard. Staff/Service excellent. Very good positioning on the cliff top near the spa, staff were very friendly and helpful. There wasnt parking included nut they gave us a fisc and help on how to pay minimal costs. Lovely clean rooms and comfy bed.

When arriving check in was easy, was met by a lovely manager who gave us the key to our room. Myself and children were in room 7. It was very spacious, clean and freshly decorated. The bathroom was clean and also had a bath in there which was a lovely addition as we love a bath! It had a double bed and bunk beds. I found the mattress and pillows too soft as I prefer firm but that’s just my personal preference. The bunkbeds and double bed did creak a lot which wasn’t great when trying to sleep. There was plenty of teabags, coffee etc in the room. Housekeeping came and put fresh towels in everyday and stocked up the tea and coffee which was great. Staff were friendly too. Breakfast is served across at the Rowntree which was very good. The only other thing I’d say is we had 2 plug sockets that didn’t seem to work so we struggled with the lack of sockets overall.

A nicely located place to stay, near South Cliff. Staff friendly and helpful on check-in. Pillows on the bed not very comfortable though and our double bed wouldn't be good for anyone tall. Very generous with the tea/coffee etc in the room. We would stay here again if in the area.
