Candlewood Suites Texarkana by IHG

Went to another hotel as the elevator was out.

Rooms very outdated. Elevator broken.

Elevator wasn't work, laundry room was dirty and messy..

It was fine for one night. Not a lot of noise. Not very much parking.

Very clean. Elevator was being repaired, but we were given 5000 member points for inconvenience of room on second floor.

No lights in the parking lot

Suite was nice with newer furniture and very clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. The only slightly negative was the elevator was very slow and we were on the 4th floor with a lot of stuff to shuttle in and out.

Likes: Staff was awesome! Free coffee, library, nice pillow and sheets, free laundry, gym, outdoor gazebo, pet friendly - $25 per pet. Good restaurants nearby. Dislikes: TV wasn't clear, couldn't figure out stove, telephone didnt work, no spoons or forks in kitchen (only knives), elevator is hot and slow moving. Despite some drawbacks, I would return! The positives outweigh the negatives.

Elevator was broke so cancelled reservation since only room available was 4th floor.

Room was nice and spacious. Took hours for our air to kick on. Elevator was extremely slow. Elevators and hall ways were extremely hot.

I had a wonderful stay for one night. The front desk was very friendly and professional. The suite was very clean with no issues. The location is great. There are several restaurants right near it and a shopping plaza right around the corner. I would definitely choose this hotel again when passing through Texarkana.

Property was clean and well lit. Check in was easy then to our room for a very nice surprise. Room was very nicely cleaned, smelled good and amenities in room were outstanding. Full kitchen and very spacious bathroom was a bonus. Slept well and friendly staff on way out.

The room was nice but there were roaches everywhere. We were sitting at the table eating and the roaches came out almost immediately. My husband talked to the front desk and they said oh we know. No offer to move or refund. He talked to the manager in the morning and she said she didn’t know about it so maybe it will get better.

The staff working, especially late at night, were really nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, there were roaches in our first room, and we had to be moved to another floor.

There was mold in the bathroom, the place needed paint, the kitchen area needs to be deep cleaned. There were BUGS

The whole hotel smelled. Our room was very dirty and looked like it hadnt been cleaned. Everything in the room and hotel hasnt been updated in several years. The bed was terrible. The shower was cold. There was holes in the wall. The fixtures were rusted. All around terrible. The cleanliness of the room was the biggest issue. We ended not returning the second night. The worst room i have ever stayed in. Do not saty at this hotel.

The AC in the bedroom did not work. Maintenance came and did not fix it. Told them again, and they did nothing. Not even offered to move rooms.

Old. Remote volume not working. Lights on wall not working. Icemaker in freezer not working.

First, let me say I LOVE Candlewood Suites!!! That is always my first choice wherever i go. But i had an issue with my door key this time. It would take me several times to unlock the door. That was frustrating. Then the handle to flush the toilet was NOT screwed in correctly and kept falling out. And the knob on the bathtub was reversed. The hot was cold and the cold was hot.

Our bathroom door did not close due to missing hardware. This wouldn\'t have really been an issue had it just been my wife and I travelling alone. However, we had her mother with us, which made it a challenge we shouldn\'t have had to deal with. When I asked the front desk attendant about it, she said they have the parts on "back-order." I can tolerate a lot, but having your bathroom door properly close all the way is a must-have. If you truly have those parts on back-order, then wait until you receive them before you put customers in the room.

Phone wasn’t hooked up, clock radio wasn’t hooked up, and remote never worked. Front desk staff friendly upon check in, but morning front desk staff didn’t seem interested in whether our stay was good or bad.

My stay at Candlewood Suites Texarkanna was not a pleasant one. The customer service was awful. NO remote for the TV and it took me 30 minutes to get into my room due to a default room key. I asked the guy who was on duty his attitude was so awful he didn't want to assist me. I made up my mind will not do business the Candlewood in the future. Poor service

Wonderful staff

Front desk staff Kelly is rude and disrespectful. She doesn't mind letting you stand there at the desk waiting to be acknowledged while she pretends to work. The key card to my room didn't work for the entire booking. Saturday we had to go to the desk 3 times when we couldn't get in our room, she finally got off her butt at my insistance after the third time I walked back and forth without being able to get into my room. Said maintenance would come and change the lock out, fast-forward to 1am when I returned back to the hotel and the key still didn't work resulting in me being locked out and away from all of my belongings. I'm disabled, on medication and a CPAP, not to mention, I had my dog with me. All of my medications and specialty items were inaccessible. They gave another room where I had to sleep in my clothes and wait another 10 hours before I could be let in by the maintenance guy who said he had "fixed" it the day before. While waiting and waiting in this other room, I went to the front desk to inquire about an ETA on the maintenance guy only to be told he was on his way, two hours later while still waiting, I called the front desk to follow up and was treated rudely, given more nonchalant excuses and then hung up on by KELLY. When all was said and done, I requested to speak to a manager and was told, they don't work on weekends??? And no one (not even corporate) would provide me a name or working hours for any manager.

The staff were extremely professional, kind and courteous. The rooms were tidy and very comfy.

Absolutely amazing staff. Cody was a bright highlight of our day. Thank you everyone.

The staff was absolutely amazing! They were very friendly, helpful and just down right kind, you couldn’t ask for better. Vanessa,Jo, and Jay and even the gentleman cleaning down the hall.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My wife commented that she's never felt more welcomed at a property and she was greeted, by name, and made to feel a truly welcomed guest at every interaction. Her selected room was not available when she checked in, but the staff bent over backwards to make everything right for her and it's that attitude that makes all the difference. She told me to make sure she stays there anytime we're back in the area.

Everything was great. Did have difficulty getting ahold of the front desk. All the phone said was that it was being transferred to the operator. Was on hold for a total of 30 minutes after 3 calls. Never did get a response until I walked to the front desk and offered my request in person. Other than that everything was really good.

Right off highway, clean, quiet

Very good stay with a pet. Comfortable, Clean,Quiet,, good parking,well maintained grounds, Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. Overall good location.

Very odd layout for the room-lot's of space, and no chair or couch. Refridgerator was pretty noisy. The "kitchen" didn't even have 2 of each utensil. Almost all hotels in this price range provide a free breakfast. Instead, they had a room with lots of stuff for sale. Coffee was free, but there was no milk or cream. We couldn't wait to get out of there. The room didn't smell great. I would never book at this chain again.

Roo.s haven't been updated since 80's/90's no breakfast no places to charge I-pad or phone, for $100+ a night these things need fixed
