The Phelips Arms

Great hotel name in an interesting town, being dominated by the National Trust property in walking distance. Upmarket prices for food, but room rate very competative.

From start to finish. Are welcome was warm and very friendly, the evening meal was very good. Breakfast was lovely, bedroom was clean small and comfortable with tea and coffee etc. would book again.

We had the twin room with the bathroom across the corridor. Due to this dressing gowns were provided which were large and cosy. Very large room with space for 2 chairs and coffee table. Breakfast for £5 was amazing! Good ale.

Lovely stay in a lovely old pub

fresh clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Lovely big bar with a huge real fireplace, very inviting. Good pub grub. Excellent breakfast, quality of fare, far better than expected. This will be my first choice to stay when I'm in that area again.
