Our second visit, and more planned. Beautifully decorated, and clean rooms. Had a lovely meal in the pub. Some of the rooms are upstairs and down fairly long corridors, so my only advice would be to book directly, to ensure a ground floor room if needed.

Room was good new. I was in one that was quiet had no issues. Only issue was being thrown out the pub at closing time without any warning of last orders or consideration that we were hotel guests. Left to finish our drinks outside

great hotel and bar however the drinks are very expensive and the chef can not cook for toffee. 2 night stay first night uncooked gammon sent back and the second night i was served 2 uneatable steaks. sad as this is a lovely venue and the front of house staff very helpful and accommodating

Heating was very noisy all night. Complained and it was the same the next night which caused loss of sleep. Internet connection is terrible (1MB/s) so couldn't work of an evening - mobile signal is non-existent too. Couldn't get a VAT invoice upon check-in but then had to wait a long time to get it on check-out as there was nobody at reception. Refurb is nice though - clean and comfortable. Lack of ability to work online and noisy heating means I will be staying elsewhere.

Excellent cooked to order breakfast and a good selection of wines and champagnes at very reasonable prices. Room was clean and comfortable with crisp sheets and comfy pillows. Great for a short stay.

The room toilet seat was broken, mentioned it to receptionist who said they couldn’t move the room. The overhead shower didn’t work only the same hand held shower head. Room had no bath, the pipes were banging when shower was in use. There was a bare cable underneath the radiator in the bathroom. Food - over half the menu was not available, no steaks no fish. The reason we had book was due to the menu choices. This was a special occasion and it was ruined. When I complained with frustration at everything which was going wrong. I was told it states on the menu that items might not be available. Then told I wasn’t allowed to have a drink in the bar. We spent £60 on taxis to and from town to be able to have a meal. Absolutely terrible do not stay or plan a meal at this place

Stayed here before, and it seems to have had a refurb at some point. Excellent decor in all areas including our room and bathroom. The team worked REALLY hard ( I would say they are understaffed in the restaurant).

Booked a family room as we are 2 adults and 2 kids age 15 and 11 arrived only had 3 beds Shower was hanging off the wall , sink was blocked, the place is card only and sevice in reception is very slow as you have to wait for a member of the bar or a waitress to be free to come to reception Will not be returning

No ales available in bar. Food was good but time taken to cook food was very poor. Breakfast started at 7am but no food came out for over 30 minutes - not acceptable on a business trip. Evening meal took 2 1/2 hours before starter came out. Would be a great hotel / location if not for slowness of kitchen.

I was only staying overnight but I was very comfortable - I am over 80 and disabled so that was very important. The only problem was that although I thought I had booked an accessible room I hadn't so it is important to talk to the reception team - who swiftly corrected that and found me an accessible room within a few minutes. I didn't like the AI receptionist who answered the phone but she is easily sidestepped by just insisting 'Manager' and you get put through. The dinner was very good.

Two night break to see a nearby concert. Very pleasant room, well decorated, spacious and clean. Staff friendly enough especially in the bar . The main issue is breakfast where only one member of staff is employed to serve replenish, welcome and at one point manage reception. The poor guy had no chance. On our second morning we just left as it was clear we would be there for a significant time and that no items had been replaced at all at the buffet. Shame

Excellent cooked to order breakfast and a good selection of wines and champagnes at very reasonable prices. Room was clean and comfortable with crisp sheets and comfy pillows. Great for a short stay.

great hotel and bar however the drinks are very expensive and the chef can not cook for toffee. 2 night stay first night uncooked gammon sent back and the second night i was served 2 uneatable steaks. sad as this is a lovely venue and the front of house staff very helpful and accommodating

A friendly, polite and professional team!! Superb service, clean room and comfy bed. Evening Meal service was swift and prompt. Amazing food!! I can't speak highly enough of this Hotel! The very best!! (and I stay in a lot of Hotels) Highly recommend..* * * * *

No ales available in bar. Food was good but time taken to cook food was very poor. Breakfast started at 7am but no food came out for over 30 minutes - not acceptable on a business trip. Evening meal took 2 1/2 hours before starter came out. Would be a great hotel / location if not for slowness of kitchen.

Two night break to see a nearby concert. Very pleasant room, well decorated, spacious and clean. Staff friendly enough especially in the bar . The main issue is breakfast where only one member of staff is employed to serve replenish, welcome and at one point manage reception. The poor guy had no chance. On our second morning we just left as it was clear we would be there for a significant time and that no items had been replaced at all at the buffet. Shame

It would have been good instead of okay but the shower didn’t work AGAIN. I’ve stayed here a couple of times recently and on both occasions the shower didn’t work. I think I will stay somewhere else next time.

The accomodation is in a separate building to the public house. Considering that my room was on the ground floor near the pub's patio, it was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and the room was relatively cool during the heatwave. Minor gripes - no AC and no fan provided, and no fridge to keep snacks cool. Also the tea and milk was not replenished. However the big plus - they provide good quality toilet paper, instead of the "major breakthrough in cheap toilet paper" that most places use. The booking was a little expensive but I did book at short notice. Would I book again? Yes, most definitely.
