The staff make this property, from the check-in to the restaurant staff all great. Only issue is parking is confusing

Location, value for money, friendly staff, freshly cooked breaskfast and EV charging point.

The property is well located on the high street. Plenty of residents parking. NB When you get there go straight to reception and register your vehicle number plate then the parking will be free for your entire stay. You can come and go with no restrictions. Plenty of dining areas, meals are cooked fresh. Outside garden is well maintained, also has a safe childrens area. You can order from your table. Plenty of space in the bedroom and bathroom and nice and clean. Would definitely recommend.

Comfortable stay, easy to find, friendly staff, lovely beer garden, easy walk for shopping and a heated outdoor pool and park area just across the road, hope to return.

Older property but well cared for, clean and not expensive. Good restaurant too, would certainly use the Bear again

The only negative was a strange mix up with parking. A member of staff repeatedly told me it wasn’t redeemable against food and drinks purchases as stated in the car park. When I asked to speak to a manager regarding this the decision was instantly reversed?

Rooms are run down, spider webs on the staircase. Accommodation is anything but 4 stars. Bar is nice.

Exceptionally clean and lovely

When placing the booking it did not indicate that our room would be in another unit of accommodation away from the Inn, albeit just down the road. The bathroom floor was covered in what seemed to be small particles of masonry and the sink was very dirty. The "double" bed was two single beds pushed together leaving a ridge where the two beds joined. On a positive, the staff were very friendly.

Pub, people and service was fine. I was in a room opposite the pub (blossom cottages I think). Bed was fine, made and fresh towels. However it was obvious the room had not been hoovered and the previous residents had been messy. There was remnants of popcorn and kebab over the carpet and the sofa bed someone had spent the evening eating crisps on it.

Good location in Street, Somerset within 10 minutes drive to Glastonbury and walking distance to Clarks Village. Room was clean and tiday we did not experience any issues on this occasion.

Lovely staff, decent food with good choices. There was a few items in the room from the previous occupant when we checked in which wasn't good, but it was soon sorted. In a very nice, central area for sightseeing.

Room smelled a bit musty as you entered the room. Basic furniture. No biscuits, no name coffee. No curtains in the bathroom that had clear glass. Curtains didn’t really fully cover the windows.

We booked a three night stay for two adults and our son for half term. We chose The Bear (listed as 4*) as we love staying in pubs and the location was good for us. Upon arrival we were please with the free parking, impressed with the pub/reception and found the staff friendly. We were excited when we were told we would be staying in your ‘Blossom Cottage’… Sounds great! Then we were told it was a walk away, across the main road-not exactly what we had expected, but a cottage sounds really nice?… What a disappointment, our room really needs a refurb, TV didn’t work in our sons room, bathroom although clean still felt grubby and the plumbing was temperamental. Two teabags, two coffees, two mugs/glasses for three guests, for a three night stay? (But 10 milk sachets???) But more worryingly, the front door to the four roomed cottage was often left unlocked by other guests, I’m sure not on purpose as it had a Yale lock, but still this needs attention as it is a security risk. Bearing in mind our stay was in October and it rained on and off everyday, it really made the ‘off site’ accommodation a problem for us. So much so that we didn’t eat in the pub restaurant at all as we had planned to. I did mention our issues to reception and was told I should have requested a room in the main building. Overall the accommodation was not 4* as we had expected and we were left very disappointed. We wouldn’t have stayed here if we had known what it was like. We won’t be staying here again or r

One booking, 2 rooms. one room in the main building, this room was of an acceptable standard. second room in an annexe a few hundred yards down the road, substandard accommodation & an immediate distance between myself and my travelling companion. Hotel staff not interested in our grievances.

The only one thing which was difficult was the stairs.

I would not rate The Bear as 4*. Very basic rooms. Bathroom very outdated

The family room we booked was in a different building 100 yards away and the other side of the road which meant we got soaked just getting to breakfast. These rooms also had poor internal sound proofing. Try and get a room in the main building.

My partner and I have stayed at The Bear Inn on several occasions over the past 10+ years and have enjoyed our stays, however on this occasion we thought our room needed a spruce up and being next to the road it was a little noisy. The staff were all very helpful and polite especially Laura & Bayleigh. We will no doubt visit again.

Didn't realise that we were in an annexe across the road. We wanted a hotel with the pub onsite. Although just over the road it was miserable weather and that's why we wanted an all in one. The TV remote didn't work but that got resolved and the heating didn't reallyq Ork well. The radiators needed bleeding and we called reception and also messaged but this wasn't resolved.

Have stayed in this hotel several times, always excellent, however on this occasion found the manager to be very inflexible and impersonal.... would not visit again

Very easy check in, staff very good and helpful on all matters.

Lovely place to stay, only issue we had was check in and check out was not very organised.

It was impossible to speak to someone prior to arriving. I messaged them several times through the app about needing access to a fridge for my meds and no one replied. I also tried phoning. As a solo traveller I wanted to speak to someone about a secluded table to sit and have dinner but I couldnt speak to anyone. It's all automated. The accommodation was great but I would never book here again on principle and didn’t eat there for the same reason. People matter, we are not machines. Very unhappy customer

A new check in payment system was a complete shambles. Check in was pointless as when we went to check out they told us we had not paid even though card details were given at check in. We had three rooms. We were paying for Two on one card and one on a different card. They then proceeded to take payment from the same card without authorisation. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough but bathroom fittings and fixture are very old and could do with a refurb. All the staff were nice and friendly.

Great staff, at a busy period when under pressure still gave great service with smiles, good food and nice rooms, very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price 👍👍, would not hesitate to return for one moment.

We only booked the one night, as this was the last leg of our trip, but would have gladly have stayed longer. Warm, friendly welcome. Twin room situated on the top floor. Beds were super comfy, great night sleep. We booked in for evening meal and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was lovely. Really enjoyed our stay, definitely book here again.

The bedroom, breakfast options and morning staff were excellent. I really wanted to be able to give this property a positive review. However, after the room was cleaned on the second night, our bedroom door was left open and consequently not secure. There was no additional security between the bar and the bedroom so anybody could have just walked in. What made this worse was the attitude of the gentleman behind the bar who I spoke to about this. He was very dismissive and didn’t seem to think that this was a problem. In addition, they appeared to have an issue with food service in the evening (it took 1 hour and 25 minutes for our food to be served on the night we ate there and other people were having similar difficulties on other evenings.) This could be a lovely place to stay and hope they can tweak the issues that we encountered.

Check in was quick and simple, the check in assistant was very helpful throughout our stay!!

Comfortable and convenient location

Situated in the centre of town and perfect for accessing Clarks Village. Lovely old building but extremely well maintained. Great staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Fabulous overnight stay to visit Clarks Village- literally a 2 minute walk away. Good restaurant for the evening although a bit short of places to sit and just have a drink. Bit tired looking but clean, large rooms and shower good. Certainly value for money.

We booked this trip last minute. So glad we did, I think we got the last room available. Lovely room, staff were great, food was good and all near to the shops and bus stop.

Lovely big rooms with excellent service. Close to Street shopping and buses into Glastonbury. Wish i'd noticed the swimming pool nextdoor!

Good central property to Glastonbury and Clark Village.

Nice room, bathroom could do with a refurb. Excellent value for money. Food in restaurant is very good. Enjoyed our stay.

Room is fine and purposeful a bit dated but it's not new. Shared front entrance could be helpful if people closed it too fully. Food choices limited we were down to third option, and perhaps because we chose items with our 40% discount. No lamb again and no mixed grill, but you could have steak,bacon chop sausage egg and mushroom, strange but no mixed grill. Asked for water when meal arrived had to ask again it just arrived by the time we finished. Lots of people running around little service.

The continental breakfast was poor. Pots of Quaker porridge to be made with hot water from a flask one example. The evening meal was little better with the lasagna over heated. The ladies toilets were in a bad condition, of the 3 cubicles, one had a broken seat, a second permanently locked and neither of these had a hook on the back of door to hang up handbags etc. There were plenty of good places to heat elsewhere in Street.

We stayed at The Bear Inn for two nights (21st & 22nd December) and ate in the restaurant the evening of Sunday 22nd. Our room was great; very clean with a comfy bed, quiet and spacious with everything we needed. Breakfast both mornings was excellent as was our meal on December 22nd. Each time the staff were hard working, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Always there with a laugh and a smile. We'd definitely consider staying at The Bear Inn again when we're next on our travels as it's ideally located for Wells, Glastonbury and the Haynes Motor Museum, places we visited during our stay.

Dinner service was a bit problematic. I ordered a half pint of beer because I wasn’t drinking and got a full pint from the waitress. Then I was told it was for free because of the mistake. But they charged me for a full one.
