Expected more, the guy who checked us in was accommodating, the room was a poor standard, not up to our expectations. Car alarm in the car park, went off at 4am and again at 6am so cut our losses and headed home.

I arrived late and the host had taken steps to make sure that I wasn't locked out. The room I had was large and I could have had my own kitchen setup if I was staying longer. In the morning I was greated by friendly host and I was offered a free continental breakfast.

I needed somewhere to break my journey walking along the towpath of the Trent-Mersey canal, and this motel is only a mile north of the canal, at the midway point between the Anderton Boat Lift and the end of the canal at Preston Brook. I don't think I would have been able to complete the walk without its being where it is. Facilities were good (like an Extended Stay property, with a kitchen; bed was comfortable; convenience shop nearby was a bonus.

Check in arrangements were good and helpful, sadly the feel of the place was not good. In my opinion it needs a proper refurbishment, I did not feel comfortable sleeping in what felt like a dirty bed with stains over the mattress and a peeling leatherette old headboard.

Very tired room. Stains on the carpet and chips out of the paintwork. Broken blind. Room smelled musty. No lid on toilet. We didn't use the shower but the shower curtain didn't look as clean as it should be. The room needed a proper deep clean. Very basic hospitality tray. Towels were so small they wouldn't leave anything to the imagination! We knew that at the room price for the area we weren't going to get a luxury experience, but it fell pretty short of what I'd really expect.

Absolute shambles. Avoid this place! Front door glass smashed, the shower curtain was serverely stained, it was dirty, stank of cigarette smoke, no central heating, cold, noisy and the 'breakfast buffet' was an absolute joke. Nobody even on reception to complain to.

Bathroom was shabby and no hot water could be found in the sink but the room was clean and mattress comfortable. The blind in the room was broken so more light came in than was kept out but didnt bother me much. Staff was friendly and accomodating however the place stunk of weed but it isnt 5 star so downsides expeted

Was on reception was very polite and had no problem with my early check in. The room was spacious and clean. The corridor was smelly - someone was or had been smoking in their room. The breakfast room was adequate with a good range of cereals, toast and coffee. There was a boiler - but no teabags for tea. Overall a good nights stay at a great price.

The reception appeared not to know the type of room I had booked. I had pre-paid but appeared to lack the knowledge of this, left me feeling uncomfortable. Horrible breakfast- extremely cheap sausag and bacon and not well prepared. Cold coffee and no hot water to make tea. The room was dusty and no effort is made to clean the coners.

Staff were very friendly, it’s in need of renovation but I’m not going to complain too much given the excellent price. For a night or two, as just a place to sleep, I would 100% recommend.

Not sure how this hotel has 8 stars. Very unclean. The sheets were dirty, other than being desperate to get the kids to bed we would have found another hotel. My husband slept on a towel with another over him as the bedding was dirty. The bathroom had grime along the edges and the whole place just felt so grim. I imagine its perfect for a stag do or something where the guest are too drunk to notice. The breakfast was some bread and a toaster with cornflakes left for you to help yourself. Not sure how that can be policed for cleanliness. Safe to say we didnt eat it.

An excellent hotel within easy reach of Manchester and very good value for money. Breakfast is provided with a good choice of food. On site free parking available. The manager is most helpful and polite.

Absolute shambles. Avoid this place! Front door glass smashed, the shower curtain was serverely stained, it was dirty, stank of cigarette smoke, no central heating, cold, noisy and the 'breakfast buffet' was an absolute joke. Nobody even on reception to complain to.

I arrived late and the host had taken steps to make sure that I wasn't locked out. The room I had was large and I could have had my own kitchen setup if I was staying longer. In the morning I was greated by friendly host and I was offered a free continental breakfast.

Was on reception was very polite and had no problem with my early check in. The room was spacious and clean. The corridor was smelly - someone was or had been smoking in their room. The breakfast room was adequate with a good range of cereals, toast and coffee. There was a boiler - but no teabags for tea. Overall a good nights stay at a great price.

The reception appeared not to know the type of room I had booked. I had pre-paid but appeared to lack the knowledge of this, left me feeling uncomfortable. Horrible breakfast- extremely cheap sausag and bacon and not well prepared. Cold coffee and no hot water to make tea. The room was dusty and no effort is made to clean the coners.

The breakfast was horrible, just a cornflakes. Dirty surface and cutlerys. Bad smell everywhere. Mouldy bathroom. Bed was comfortable and room size was good.

Having stayed in a wide range of accommodation over the years, I can honestly say this was one of, if not the worst. It appears to have long term residents. In the room, they take the form of spiders, etc. that have created some impressive living accommodation for themselves. They obviously don't mind the battered and decrepit building, as well as the musty stench that has had greater aging than some whisky. It included "continental breakfast ", which is a loose term, and was never tested, as the cleanliness of what I could see didn't give me confidence in what I couldn't see. On a positive, the parking was plentiful, and the location convenient. But, not convenient enough to warrant ever staying here again. I did get to meet the Porsche driving owner, and explain my concerns. The money definitely goes on his vehicle, rather than the property. His response was they were planning on refurbishment, but it was apparent it was more akin to polishing a "turnip", than the gutting it requires.

Place is fairly dated but there's a small kitchen there you've got microwave kettle and a toaster. Beds are nice and firm, had a much better sleep here than the hotel i stayed in the previous night at 3 times the price. I'd stay here again no bother.
