We really enjoyed our stays. Staff are all very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable including the shuttle driver and the retail staff. The room, spa services, and onsen are my favorites. My husband enjoyed the free yoga classes and the gym. We both love the plum tea and the beef noodle soup at the bar areas. Will definitely come back and stay again!!! Thank you !!!

Beautiful hotel on Sun Moon Lake with excellent staff. Hotel overall aesthetically is wonderful but it shows some wear and tear and could use a refresh in some parts. Overall the exceptional staff, access to dining (the View restaurant and the Japanese restaurant for guests only) and the pool and tea areas were very enjoyable. The lake itself is quiet and the Lalu hotel provides for a relaxing setting. All these helped us to enjoy our stay and overlook the minor repairs we thought the hotel needed. You also have direct access to the walking trails and you can also walk about 5-10 minutes to the dock to enjoy a boat ride to the temples and gondola. Recommend asking the hotel for transportation from the Taichung train station as well if traveling from Taipei or elsewhere- very helpful.

The Lalu is clearly a top notch hotel and the facilities and staff are excellent. A few specific positives - Marshall and Allen both went above and beyond in terms of their service. The Japanese restaurant meal was top notch. The Spa was very good. Being able to walk out and around the lake was great, as well as the boat trip across to the pagoda. A few suggestions for improvement - the pool area got very noisy with lots of children shrieking, so some thought on how to balance this would make sense. We enjoyed the Chinese Restaurant food however the ambience is very basic - a big white room in effect.

A truly elegant property with an incredibly gracious staff — we were treated like royalty from the moment we checked in. The view of Sun Moon Lake from our suite (3F), overlooking the resort’s beautiful 60-meter pool, was absolutely spectacular. There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the room and the property, made from some of the most expensive wood in Taiwan, and as a technical clarification, the bed in our room was unquestionably a King, not the Queen listed in Expedia. We actually extended our stay for a fourth night and really enjoyed our time on Sun Moon Lake. We very highly recommend both Sun Moon Lake and The Lalu!

Service staff are above and beyond in making sure we feel welcomed and at home. The entire hotel feels semi-outdoor with tons of open walls and huge windows. Despite this unique environmental set up, the hotel remained super clean and well maintained. Impressive. Room is clean and the belcony is truly one of its kind. You also have direct access to the walking trails and you can also walk about 5-10 minutes to the dock to enjoy a boat ride to the temples and gondola. Recommend asking the hotel for transportation from the Taichung train station as well if traveling from Taipei or elsewhere- very helpful.

stunning architecture and very friendly service. rooms at first sight have incredible design and are very spacious. unfortunately at closer look the entire hotel feels run down and has seen better days. ceilings are dirty with mold, bathroom weatherstrip is full of mold, fixtures are not well kept. management needs to spend some resources and good craftsmanship keeping the place up

We stayed at a private pool villa for one night. Architecture was impressive. But surprisingly there was a water leak in the bath tab and we could not fill the water. And also the staff was saying they were coming to put the candle light to our room but they didn’t come. I must say that the operation of the hotel wasn’t perfect. But I enjoyed the experience of the space so much. I want to stay again.

Everything was great except for the airconditioner which was set to 24 degrees and cannot be adjusted. The room was so hot and they provided a portable air cooler, but in spite of that it was very hot. Was awaken earlier than usual due to the heat. Aside from that everything was superb!

The rooms are quite amazing but a little dated. More lighting required; better TV monitor; new washlet with better and easier flush capability. What made our stay frustrating was the lack of food options (bits and bites… e.g. French fries or chicken fingers and our absolute worst experience (given this 5* hotel) was the breakfast service. It is not acceptable to have to wait in line for a table for 15 minutes and then wait again for over 30 minutes for a simple fried egg! The F&B is definitely much lower than 5*

Great hotel with wonderful view of the lake. During check-in, we didnt even need to queue. Just chill and enjoy the snacks & tea provided by the hotel & wait for the hotel to check you in. Staff were so attentive & because we had a stroller, we just needed to call the recept in the morning and they will send someone up to your room and personally bring you through a ramp access to the breakfast location. Travelled with a baby and the hotel made the stay for our baby very convenient and comfortable. Baby sterilizer is also provided in the room which not many hotel does so I'm very impressed! 1 night is definitely not enough!

Most of the service was stellar - breakfast buffet had a good offering but staff seems overwhelmed. I asked for an egg twice and it still didn't arrive by the time i finished my meal. LaLu is a very prestigious hotel! The staff are very attentive and hands on for service requests. The dining options are very limited and what they offer are expensive and not too much choice. Around the immediate hotel area don’t have much food choices either! The hotel ground has lots of inserts especially mosquitos make sure you have bug spray! 滞在中は毎日、日月潭の素晴らしい景色を思う存分堪能できました。スタッフのチームワーク、心温まるサービスも滞在を心地よくしてくれました。また、滞在したいのですが、一つだけ不満だった事があります。朝食は美味しく種類も豊富で楽しめたのですが、夕食のメインダイニングの中華レストランの食事が値段の割りに余りにもお粗末でした。あんなに硬くてナイフの歯が立たないロブスターは初めていただきました。他の料理も盛り付けや見た目、味付けをもっと工夫・研究した方がいいです。そうしないと、次回は夕食は外食になりそうです。

The hotel room was large with a beautiful sitting area and balcony. The view of the lake is 10/10. We had two outstanding dinners in the Japanese restaurant. Everything was perfect except for our experience at breakfast. On both mornings, the hostess tried to seat us in the corner at the worse table in the restaurant. Many other tables with views were open. I had to refuse to sit down before she offered me another table, and this one was also in the far back of the restaurant. We wondered if the poor seating options could be linked to our being the only Westerners in the hotel.
