Spotless. Lovely decor with carefully curated items that evoke earlier times. Bed very comfortable. Robes and toiletries were a pleasure. Enjoyed the tub and separate shower. Breakfast was delicious. The location is only a short walk from Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile. Hosts were congenial and were helpful about a forgotten item.

Initial communication with owner was fine. Room was TINY. Basically walk in and climb into the bed. Parking in the area 30 GBP per night (free on weekends). Breakfast was continental (cereal, fruit, cheese, toast, yogurt, croissants, juice, tea and coffee). Subsequent communication with owner marginal. First night of 3 night stay I asked her to re-list the room for our 3rd night as I wished to leave early but wanted to be sensitive to her bookings. She refused. We ended up leaving a day early and forfeiting the cost of the 3rd night. Our last morning the owner got into a debate with another couple about storing their luggage for 3 hours while they sightseed a bit prior to pickup by a tour company. That should have been a no brainer in the hospitality business. The owner eventually relented and stored the luggage. However, the initial answer should have been "Certainly!", not a long-winded hi-brow attitude from the owner. Finally, a baggie full of GBP coins disappeared from our room. Could not have been more than10 GBP worth of coins but it is the principle, not the monetary value. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend. There are many better options in Edinburgh.

6 Brunton Place was a step back in time, but with all the subtle amenities and luxuries of modern day! Our host Hillary was impeccable, polite, friendly, and very informative. The breakfasts were superb, well laid out, and beautifully placed. The furnishings were well cared for,. Pieces, and made you feel like you were back in time. The accommodations provided clean and quiet rooms, spacious enough to spread out yet cozy enough to call home for a few days. The heated floor in the bathroom was a bonus! it was a lovely neighborhood, just across from Carlton Hill. was very walkable to all locations, Including the palace of Holyrood house, walking trails, and the city proper. I would surely return to 6 Brunton Place again, and highly recommend it.

After a lovely welcome we were shown around the building. Lounge area for guests with half a bottle wine each. Garden room stunning. Coffee machine and kettle. Bath robs and great towels! Breakfast was 5 star. Can not recommend this hotel enough. Will be back.

Hilary is a wonderful host. The room was thoughtfully designed for guests including touches like tissues, bubble bath gel for taking a relaxing soak in the tub, little biscuits, wine...and the most delicious breakfasts. Can't recommend enough!

Six Brunton Place is an amazing place to stay. The property is beautiful and elegant and although the Courtyard room is 'cosy', it was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious, with a full size bath and separate shower. There is a kettle, and a coffee machine, in the room, plus a TV that links to Sky. (Not that we had time to watch it!) The breakfast room/lounge had a lovely log burner which we sat beside, to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, before going out to the theatre. Which was only 15 minutes walk away. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, but must be ordered the night before. There was also an excellent choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries etc. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely hope to return for another stay.

Booked very far in advance to stay in December. Hilary the owner was just marvellous. We loved our stay here, the breakfast was delicious and the place had a very cosy atmosphere. Unbelievably cosy and romantic. Slight issue with parking (not much it) but we did arrive late on in the evening, Place was spotless and the toiletries were divine.

This place was honestly absolutely amazing. One of the best places we have stayed. Firstly me and my 2 teenage sons had a bed each, which was brilliant. Our room (the garden room) was huge. The whole place was so full of character, attention to detail was superb, and everything about it was high end and five star quality. It was extremely clean and extremely quiet and it was such a friendly and personal service. I honestly won’t stay anywhere else if we return to Edinburgh.

Host was very welcoming and property unique. Host was informative and always on hand to answer any questions. Complimentary small bottle of wine went down well and was a nice touch. Hillary was the perfect host to this lovely, historic place! It is truly a beautiful, welcoming place. Wonderful accommodations with the best soaking tub ever! Breakfasts were great in the quaint dining space. We loved the garden outback. Surely will stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at 6 Brunton Place. The building itself was grand and impressive with very nice decor. Our room was very cosy and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a good selection and wss very tasty. The hotel is well situated and a gentle stroll of 5 to 10 minutes takes you into the city fentre.

Everything was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. We would stay here again. The location was great for us. The only complaint is the slight musty smell in the basement room. They did have a deodorizer, however I couldn’t sleep with it under my night stand. I’m allergic to fragrances. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Breakfast Timing is Inflexible: Breakfast is strictly served starting at 8:00 AM. If you need to leave earlier for tours or activities, there is **no flexibility** to get breakfast before this time. Unfortunately, the host was **unresponsive to requests** regarding this, meaning you simply miss out if you need an early start. 2. **Room Atmosphere:** Our room felt quite **dark and slightly damp**. It lacked natural sunlight, which likely contributed to the damp feeling. While clean enough, the overall atmosphere wasn't particularly pleasant. 3. **Communication Challenges:** Communication with the property manager could be difficult. They were primarily **located within the house** and weren't always readily available or responsive to messages, making it hard to address minor needs or questions promptly. **In summary,** the property is basically functional and gets the job done for a place to sleep. Six Brunton Place is an amazing place to stay. The property is beautiful and elegant and although the Courtyard room is 'cosy', it was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious, with a full size bath and separate shower. There is a kettle, and a coffee machine, in the room, plus a TV that links to Sky. (Not that we had time to watch it!) Initial communication with owner was fine. Room was TINY. Basically walk in and climb into the bed. Parking in the area 30 GBP per night (free on weekends). Breakfast was continental (cereal, fruit, cheese, toast, yogurt, croissants, juice, tea and coffee). Subsequent communication with owner marginal. First night of 3 night stay I asked her to re-list the room for our 3rd night as I wished to leave early but wanted to be sensitive to her bookings. She refused. We ended up leaving a day early and forfeiting the cost of the 3rd night. Our last morning the owner got into a debate with another couple about storing their luggage for 3 hours while they sightseed a bit prior to pickup by a tour company. That should have been a no brainer in the hospitality business. The owner eventually relented and stored the luggage. However, the initial answer should have been "Certainly!", not a long-winded hi-brow attitude from the owner. Finally, a baggie full of GBP coins disappeared from our room. Could not have been more than10 GBP worth of coins but it is the principle, not the monetary value. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend. There are many better options in Edinburgh.

I stayed at here with my friend, brilliant location for going to see a show at the playhouse. Plenty of places to eat nearby and close enough to walk to the train station. The room was very well presented, clean and comfortable. The host was lovely and very friendly and helpful.

This place was honestly absolutely amazing. One of the best places we have stayed. Firstly me and my 2 teenage sons had a bed each, which was brilliant. Our room (the garden room) was huge. The whole place was so full of character, attention to detail was superb, and everything about it was high end and five star quality. It was extremely clean and extremely quiet and it was such a friendly and personal service. I honestly won’t stay anywhere else if we return to Edinburgh.

Host was very welcoming and property unique. Host was informative and always on hand to answer any questions. Complimentary small bottle of wine went down well and was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay at 6 Brunton Place. The building itself was grand and impressive with very nice decor. Our room was very cosy and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a good selection and wss very tasty. The hotel is well situated and a gentle stroll of 5 to 10 minutes takes you into the city fentre.

6 Brunton Place was a step back in time, but with all the subtle amenities and luxuries of modern day! Our host Hillary was impeccable, polite, friendly, and very informative. The breakfasts were superb, well laid out, and beautifully placed. The furnishings were well cared for,. Pieces, and made you feel like you were back in time. The accommodations provided clean and quiet rooms, spacious enough to spread out yet cozy enough to call home for a few days. The heated floor in the bathroom was a bonus! it was a lovely neighborhood, just across from Carlton Hill. was very walkable to all locations, Including the palace of Holyrood house, walking trails, and the city proper. I would surely return to 6 Brunton Place again, and highly recommend it.

Hilary is a wonderful host and has created a beautiful, comfortable, and luxurious home away from home for her guests. Breakfasts are delicious! There is a bus stop across the street, and it’s an easy walk to the Edinburgh tram. After spending the days exploring Edinburgh it was so nice to return to a cozy room with the most comfortable bed, and a cup of tea. Will definitely stay there again.

Excellent location with good transport links and close to Leith Walk with its pubs, bars and restaurants. Host Hilary is very friendly and helpful plus lovely continental breakfast too! Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay. The room was a tad on the smalĺ side, but clean. We parked at at st James quarter car part which was very expensive (£57) for 2 nights. It was about 10-15 minutes walk to the b&b. Which is fine without luggage, but a slog with it. Breakfast was continental but still a good selection
We had a lovely stay. The room was a tad on the smalĺ side, but clean. We parked at at st James quarter car part which was very expensive (£57) for 2 nights. Brilliant hotel, the owner is wonderful and so helpful. Not far from the centre, easily walkable or catch a bus. Rooms are big, so clean and the beds are super comfy. Breakfast was lovely and fresh with plenty to choose from. Highly recommended
