Spectacular views from both the dining room (where buffet breakfast is served) as well as from the lounge (which also has a fabulous wood fireplace. Loved the building style as well as the lighting. An in-wall fish tank was great for the kids as was the complementary stuffed duck toy given to each of them. The children’s arcade and indoor play rooms was so convenient too. The indoor pool, spa and sauna was heaven. The rinse off showers were so good also as we could then dress our children instead of walking all the way back to the room cold and dripping. Would love to return in summer and see the views then too and also experience the other facilities on offer. There’s no need to leave the place as it has everything you could want.

Amazing for families with kids has pool sauna ice skating tennis basketball play areas duck feeding giant blow up castle and huge rainbow skids activities , movie theatre We missed the house riding Very friendly staff I would have given 5 has it not been for limited food options at resort such as not being to get Ala carte breakfast The breakfast buffet eggs were very ordinary to terrible. At least let people order eggs this way Also would have been good to have Greek yogurt at breakfast buffet My previous 2 stays were not during school holidays and before Covid The sublime cafe has outstanding prawn pasta and arancini, but terrible calamari and no cakes no soups could really do with more options such as pizza. They used to in the past have very nice cake selections I honestly over all love this resort I think with modifications to have more food options would be a 5 out of 5 I guess one would drive to Leura and Katoomba but it was extremely cold and we really wanted to stay in resort so had to get uber eats one night to hotel as my husband had a cold and did not want to be in zero weather We only booked a month before so could not get interconnected rooms but they gave us 2 rooms next to each other and were extremely good to change bed configurations to be king or 2 singles as we wanted The new ice rink is so lovely wish they made it double the size as there is space !

The hotel is rundown and in need of a renovation. Expensive for what it is. Pool area was very dirty and pool was peeling all around and tiles on sides very dirty. Nobody was monitoring the area and with limited seating on a hot day it’s not very fair when people reserve pool chairs and arrive 2 hours later to their reserved spot. staff should monitor this better. would be a beautiful outdoor area if fixed up a bit. service was good and great location with an amazing day spa. Indoor fireplace area would be beautiful during winter . Buffet breakfast was also disappointing. Eggs tasted like the hospital made them and waffles were straight out of the packet from coles.

Great facilities for kids under 8, which also means there are kids running everywhere - including the halls very early in the mornings. Room doors are not sound proof, so expect to hear every early morning riser. Bathrooms clean but shower head is like you’re at a school camp. Beautiful large space and scenery amazing of course. Two Doctors bar a great escape for adults.

The view was lovely that is of course, if you could get a table and/or seating to take in the landscape. The daily cleaning was average rubbish bin not emptied, on facecloth second day, convenience areas and drinking vessels not cleaned. Maintenance could be reviewed as there was a large gap on the right side window ( broken) allowed entry to a large spider!! and cold draft from the extreme wind on one occasion. Must say, the staff were excellent very professional and friendly.

We are return visitors to the Fairmont. This time however we were not overly impressed. There was luggage left in our room (a whole suitcase), a dirty hair elastic in the bathroom and a hairbrush in the wardrobe. Upon advising reception, the response was ‘ll’l let my manager know. Clearly our room was not cleaned properly and we did not feel overly comfortable. Areas in the hotel need dome love. I’m not talking about renovations, just general cleaning and maintenance. The pool windows are absolutely filth, spiders and cobwebs in the pool change rooms, outside walls covered in dirt. It would not take much. Floors always dirty. The hotel was absolutely packed so clearly money should not be an issue. We also walked past the storeroom with the door open - there were racks of blankets pillows and doonas just thrown on old rickety shelving, some just sitting on the dirty floor. Was not impressed. Maccas has better systems! Just feel like they need new management with someone that cares. Plus side is all the activities for kids. However if they did not have this I feel like it would not be as popular. I booked for 2 adults and 1 child. Upon arrival I enquired about the bedding configuration. Was told it was 1 king bed only - even though l had booked for 3 (and paid for 3). Her response was that I could pay $40 to hire some sheets for the fold out lounge. What a joke. Will probably skip this hotel for awhile. Shame

No, the room was not spotless. Carpet had not been vacuumed and had numerous stains. Numerous wads of lint and hair on the floor around bed. Hoping housekeeping would catch that the next day but never happened. Staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Numerous amenities were not open the days we were staying there. We found this very disappointing.

Resort is in desperate need of renovation/maintenance. I was informed by the reception that the site became a hotel in 1989. It is clear that no renovation or maintenance has been done since. Dirty rooms with aging bathrooms.

We had a wonderful day at the Fairmont Resort! While the weather wasn’t ideal, the wide variety of indoor activities and events truly made our stay special. We enjoyed the spa, indoor pool, sauna, in-house cinema, and the excellent selection of bars and restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable, offering a great place to unwind. The only downsides were having to pay extra for movies and the need for a bathroom renovation. Despite this, everything else about the room was fantastic. Overall, we had an incredible experience and will definitely be returning!

Our room was very noisy, it was an interconnected room. Next to a room where we could hear one of the guests vomiting all night. Surprised for a four star hotel there was no complimentary bottled water in room. We visited on school Holiday weekend and it seemed staff were stretched, bar tables were dirty and it was poorly staffed at bar. Otherwise hotel was in fabulous location in blue mountains with great access to a lovely bush walk.

The rooms are starting to look a bit rundown and dated. Room size is great. Terrible soundproofing, you can hear everything going on in the corridors. When you’re in the corridors you can hear everything going on in the rooms. The staff were hit and miss. Some were nice and helpful, others not so much. We called for an extra towel as not enough had been provided but the towel did not arrive. We ended up down in reception to get another towel ourselves. No major complaints but the experience just wasn’t as good as the last time we stayed a few years ago.

Excellent facilities at the resort. However the walls were paper thin and all could hear was the child in room next door jumping up and down on the bed and banging on the wall as well as their conversations. Better suited to a family stay rather then the relaxing couples stay that we went for.

Service was excellent at check in .Room is spacious and has courtyard. Lots of facilities to enjoy. Air conditioner compressor noise disrupting sleep as it switches on and off. Room 143 not recommended. Overall recommend staying but different room.

If a few notable issues weren’t present, it would have been easy to give this hotel 5 stars… however, our room wasn’t ready on arrival. We were told to expect a phone call that never came, resulting in an hour of time paid for but forfeited. Further, no bath mat was provided in our bathroom resulting in a fall and subsequent injury sustained by my two year old after her bath. Following this, we ordered room service which was average to say the least. Following discussions with the front desk, they were unsympathetic to my daughter’s head injury and barely cared about the quality of food received. They removed one charge but not the remaining. Very disappointed by the staff here.

We stayed on a busy long weekend, so there is that. But they did not staff accordingly for a booked out long weekend, so things like the extreme line up for check in was frustrating, especially when the staff were dawdling along and didn't care in the slightest and at times there was only 1 staff member checking in guests (line to the front door). When we did check in, we went to the room and there was an empty kit kat wrapper so that wasn't very welcoming or indicative of a good room clean. The lifts are old and slow and unsuitable for the number of guests, and frankly rather scary and concerning. The staff (except one really friendly lady at the bar) were completely checked out, and did the absolute minimum. They were shocked when guests asked for all the dirty plates and glasses from the previous people at the table were asked to be cleared. There was simply not enough facilities for the number of guests on a long weekend, no available tables to have a drink or meal or enjoy any of the amenities. There are lots of great activities for families to take part in - but they all seemed to be booked out before we even arrived, with no extra sessions even with such large guest numbers. We thought the information sheet must be mistaken and checked with concierge (who had zero idea of course). But there are 7 restaurants and not a single one was open for dinner on Sunday of long weekend when they were booked out. Seems an oversight, especially when the town is not walking distance.

Our stay was fantastic and made all the more special thanks to a gent at concierge named Michael Leavey. He was extremely busy and in need of many guests and staff, yet he took the time to show me the best places to visit in the surrounding area during our stay. When I spoke to my wife later, she detailed how kind and caring he was to her when she checked in helping with luggage and locating services in the hotel. This gentleman is an irreplaceable asset to this hotel and I dearly hope he is being take care of!

The hotel is well overdue for a renovation and refresh, the rooms are very tired and you can see that they have not been well maintained. The staff are not friendly and check in was an interesting experience with the staff member swearing at me. Definitely not what I was expecting. My room was cold as the heating didn’t work properly. The room service menu is limited and didn’t receive all my order so received my order in two deliveries. Such a shame as this hotel used to be lovely, won’t be coming back.

We have stayed in the Fairmont many times. It is in our view overpriced. The staff are very nice and the view is outstanding. It also has some very nice family-oriented facilities. However, in our view you don't really get value for money. The reception is hopeless with an obviously outdated registration system and an apparent indifferent-to-guests attitude. At one point, when we finally reached the check-in desk, and it was taking 3X longer than any other hotel have stayed in, I commented on the lengthening line and suggested perhaps we should try to move things along (rather than chit-chatting). The response I got was "they can wait." This was during the school holiday rush and was not appropriate. It will be a while before we stay at or recommend the Fairmont.

After hearing a lot of negative comments about this place I was apprehensive at first. On arrival we were greeted by fantastic staff, pleasant and friendly. It was a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was fine, the rooms were fine but yes the place could do with a bit of a refurb and some money spending to update the place. The hotel really did go above and beyond for our family.

Even though there were three restaurants each evening, we couldn't get a reservation for our third night (during the afternoon of our third day) as it was fully booked. It would have been nice if we had been told on night one or two to ensure we had our booking arrangements in place for dining on night three. We didn't eat at all in the restaurants, pretty as they were, as resort guests don't get any discretionary seeting

The property has great potential but is very dated and needs a little maintenance. It caters to families so the common areas were pretty dirty, especially the floors and pool area. It's also far from everything so if you want to walk into town or to other venues you can't. It's great for golf players and kids that want things to do . We're from Canada so assumed it was part of our "Fairmont" chain of hotels but it's not. That's why the price seemed so reasonable! Overall it's good value but depends what you are looking for. I did hear that renovations were being planned .

We booked dinner at golf club and was treated terrible. Chef shouted out loud so i could hear if he doesn't like the menu tell him to pick something else or eat elsewhere when i asked to swap mash and onion rings to chips only. Crazy someone could think thats ok. Obviously we never stayed and left. Also pool is very dated, bit dirty, broken tiles around which for a supposed 4☆ is crazy. Ok time for a night which we stayed but doubt I'd come stay again after complaint was pretty much ignored by management.

The food choices were poor. The quality of the food was below average. I did not enjoy the food. The staff were wonderful. The room was clean but there were no tissues in the room. The property itself is beautiful but it is run down and needs some love - for instance the fountain outside the spa is not working. The abstract art on the wall in the hall to the elevator should be replaced with some beautiful scenery paintings or prints of the blue mountains area.
