Comfort Suites South Point - Huntington

Great hotel, great location. Staff are top notch. My only complaint was the lack of hot water… like 0 hot water. Also guest laundry is out of service; however hotel staff helped resolve laundry issue.

Very clean, decent bed. Convenient to where we wanted/needed to go. They even have a nice little picnic area with grill.

The room cleaning staff were friendly and hard working -- this was great. Bedding and towels were clean and fresh. I did remote work via internet the whole week, and the Wi-Fi was speedy enough for video meetings, even during the evenings, with few, minor glitches. For some reason, the room-key cards change codes every day. But they don't tell you this -- so you have to trudge back down to the lobby when your key does not work to get the new code programmed. One time they messed that up too, so a second lobby trip was needed before we could get into the room. Breakfast was disappointing -- the menu changed very little during the week, and the scrambled eggs were what you expect in hospital food. The pool water was too murky to chance a swim. The area is not pedestrian friendly -- there are no sidewalks along the narrow, busy streets & highways. And no food in walking distance except for McD, Taco Bell and a couple of gas stations. We probably got our money's worth, but there are nicer places nearby for a few dollars more, and they will be our choice if we visit again.

Absolutely lovely property. Clean, well maintained, very comfortable bed/pillows, huge bathroom, hot breakfast with lots of options. Recommend only to offer gluten/dairy free in the breakfast content. And pool was closed for repairs.

The staff was really nice and accommodating. The breakfast was good. Our room was clean and comfortable. One of the main reasons we chose this facility was it had a pool. But the pool heater was broken so couldn't work out in the pool unless you enjoy an ice bath or hypothermia.

They have not kept up with the maintenance on this property. The room from the first night had tattered curtains that let the light shining into the room from the parking lot. Also, the toilet was rocking. When you stood up from it, it smashed back against the wall. The room from the second night smelled so musty. I'm guessing it had water damage that wasn't properly dried. The pool was cloudy and freezing. The staff was very nice, but we won't be back.

The staff were friendly. The breakfast good for a standard continental breakfast. The parking was ample.

Outside & Lobby looked great. Staff was fantastic. Rooms were rough. Had a couple rooms and spoke to other guests. Several toilets wiggle on floor, HVAC thermostats didn’t work and controls on units would not stay where set. Would set at 60 because rooms were hot and unit would switch to 65 in a min. Walls need painted, carpet had stains, stink bugs in folded towels etc. Only had one elevator which was created a lot of waiting. One ice machine on ground floor. It just wasn’t as nice as most Comfort Suites I have stayed at.

Elevator was "shut down for the night", but not working the next morning. First room had stained sheets (hadn't been cleaned since last customer). Second room was dirty as well, hair in the beds and on the bathroom floor. Overall look of the facility was rundown, in disrepair, and in need of maintenance. Staff was friendly, but overall state of the facility there was nothing they could do to make it better.

The pool room was freezing, ceiling falling apart above shower, breakfast was terrible. Check in clerk Jessie was lovely as well as the housekeeper (I’m sorry I did not get her name).

Woke up to ants all over the nightstand

The sheets were all stained and dirty. There was Mouse poop on the bed next to the pillows. The floor was dirty and dirt all into the corners and side of the walls. Mold all around the tub pee on the toilet. Room smelled bad.I left my phone in the truck so I didn't get a picture of the poop sorry.

I got up to use the bathroom and a mouse ran under the door, we complained they moved us to a new room. I never felt clean in this hotel. Carpet is dirty, breakfast was subpar. We decided to check out a day early.

I saw a mouse run into the bathroom under the sink. When I told them, they did not reimburse me or offer any compensation. It was dirty and the room smelled bad. Very disappointing.

When we got to our room it looked like a dog had jumped on the bed and left hair and mud on the covering. There was a candy wrapper in the sheets. We asked for fresh bedding and were told we could move to the second floor which was always kept cleaner than the first floor. Strange. Then told we wouldn’t want to sleep on the third floor because it stunk up there and always had lots of people coming and going all night. Fire alarm went off at 11:30 which I understand has nothing to do with the staff or hotel but just added to the uneasiness of the stay.

The bathroom was clean, but the bathroom door had several black fingerprints on it. When I turned back the bed cover, dirt fell off the top. Just the general look of the elevator was not clean. The tables were not cleaned after being used at breakfast. Not a bad place, but disappointed with the cleanliness. Breakfast had the usual fare with hot and cold options, but there was no fruit.

Bed was comfortable but there were stains on all of the bedding. There was either mold or mildew on the ceiling in multiple areas, and large stains on the couch.

King bed and room were clean and comfortable. Simple and spacious with pull out couch.

The “Queen” beds as advertised are not true Queen size. While bigger than a full size they do t have the width or length of a true queen size bed. Sleeping area for two is comprised. Dont care for the wall mounted A/C right next to the bed. It blows off & on and is disturbing. The catsup in kitchen is very weak, certainly a generic to better brands. Yuck..

The room had a few problems. They had the thermostat on the wall but it wasn't working. Used the a/c unit which was sufficient. The bed duvet was lumpy and the fitted sheet had been torn and stitched together and felt pilly. The bathroom tub had knicks that needed to be fixed. Other than that the place was quiet and the breakfast was good. Checkout was a breeze didn't need to turn in keys, just leave by 11am.

This was a very nice hotel. The room was very clean. The room showed some wear but not bad at all. The bathroom was very clean and I felt comfortable walking barefoot on the floor. The bedding was prepared and seemed very clean. Comfortable to sleep in. A multitude of electrical and USB charging outlets throughout the room, including next to the bed. The furniture was nice. TV was nice. I have only two minor complaints: (1) The entrance light switches didn't work in my room, so I walked into a relatively dark room; and (2) the heater/AC unit was a bit noisy. But the room otherwise was great and I would stay there again. At the time I got the room, the price was quite reasonable as well. Close to several fast-food places and other restaurants, as well as a Walmart.

Accommodations were adequate. My room was directly next to the elevator so I heard it moving all night. The room was in need of renovation. No bugs or anything but its showing its age. Definitely not the 9. whatever rating Expedia has it at. Cant comment on the surrounding area, i was just passing through.

I stay here when I visit my daughter who is attending Marshall University. It’s very close to the college, yet out in a quieter environment. I’ve stayed at this hotel probably 3 different trips now in the last couple of years. The staff is awesome and so friendly.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was very friendly. Check in was early, quick, and easy. Our room was clean and comfy! The breakfast was good. And again, the staff was friendly and attentive.

Overall great stay, felt like there could’ve been a few improvements done to the rooms and the staff was very friendly with the exception of the gentleman at the desk around 11pm last night. Didn’t act like he cared to even acknowledge that us.

I’m from Huntington WV and I moved away years ago and I have come back to town 4 times since I moved. I know that I can come here and be safe and treated very well. You couldn’t ask for a better cleaner hotel and all of the staff go above and beyond to take care of their guests. I recommend that you come here.

This hotel was easy to find right off the interstate. We checked in later in the evening and kind of early in the morning, and the check-in and out process were both very easy. I believe the listing says they will hold a deposit at check-in, but they did not do that with us. The suite we were in was clean and the beds and pillows were very comfy. The staff was very friendly and the front lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday. The breakfast offerings in the morning were very good (basic continental style). This is a half-way point to a regular destination for our travel, so I will definitely be booking here when we travel that way in the future.

Not very many restaurants / activities / stores in the area, but many within a 30 minute drive. Pool was clean, staff was nice!

Everyone was personable. Room was clean. A little tired but definitely clean. Nice breakfast every day.

2 stars for the staff. They easily switched our rooms when the first one had dirty sheets and hair on the bed (plus a light not working). Room cleaning was okay when we asked for it after that. However, the towels and washcloths were threadbare/thin. The shower curtain was also getting raggedy with the curtain rod not properly anchored. There was a note saying so-and-so was here dated back in March/over a month ago, which makes me question how well the new room was cleaned. The free breakfast was not good. It included some basic items (small yogurts, fruit, bagels, small blueberry muffins, sliced bread, and mini doughnuts). It also included waffles and plain eggs. Friday included sausage (maybe turkey) patties. Saturday there was no meat, but rather biscuits and gravy instead. Sunday there was sausage links. Grounds/grass not kept up well.
