A unique property , loved the castle , moat and church in the local village. The hotel was warm , welcoming and authentic , offering great value for money , good food and wonderful staff .. highly recommend .. really well situated for our visit to Longleat the following day … great dining experience as well and breakfast was 1st class

History on the doorstep with the rained castle. Complete with moat. Lovely pretty small village. Not an extensive menu. Very tasty and well cooked food. Very attentive service. Seating inside and outside by the stream. We had the basic twin bedded room. Which was as the room suggests basic. Very clean and comfortable bed.

The hotel was booked for a couple of nights stay, it was a lovely quiet location with the garden beside a brook running through the village. The room was at the back of the hotel was very quiet aswell, the only concern was the shower cubicle was a bit small, but to be fair couldn't be any larger in the room. The food was very good and reasonably priced, the breakfast was also very good-quite large. On our experience we would definitely recommend, the superb weather helped considerably, ample parking also.

Good country pub accommodation. Access to upstairs rooms via narrow steep stairs so might be a challenge for some. Staff were great. Excellent food in the restaurant for dinner and a hearty breakfast is provided.

All of the above plus convenient parking. Lovely pub garden and also seating space by the river opposite the front. Lovely village. Felt the worn mattress should be replaced. A weird dip in the floor and some plusher carpet. A bigger TV would make viewing from the bed easier. Nice bathroom that looks recent.

The George at Nunney lived up to other previous reviews I had read, Staff very freidly and efficient, lovely bar and dining area,our supper and breakfast were both excellent All in all a very nice place for a weekend break.

I was only at the hotel foe one night qnd arrived very late. I was helped to my room which was good because there were quite a few stairsnto the top floor. Room was a junior suite (room 10). It had a lovely modern bathroom with walk in shower and a bath. Shower was excellent. Wasn't keen on the vanity unit with a bowl sink on top. I'm only 5ft and felt my head was in the bowl. Room was spacious with a small sofa to watch TV. Lots of tea and coffe options with yummy biscuits. Very quiet because it's a small village surrounded by fields. Didn't like the bed. Mattress was not of a good standard so didn't sleep that well. Bedside lights are basically in cubby holes which form part of the wardrobes on either side. Had to unplug light on the other side of bed to plug my phone charger in. Breakfast was good but I would have preferred the toast to have arrived with it rather than me have to make it myself. Butter wasn't out with the other breqkfast stuff. Not keen on having a large urn of hot waternfor making tea; it tasted odd and don't see why they couldn't have brought me a pot. Really lovely stay. All the staff were very friendly, and made and effort to ask about what we were up to. The owner couldn’t have been more accommodating. The room was a good size and clean with a newly removated bathroom. We ate in the bar and had a “small” fish and chips which was a really good sized portion. Lovely views as well!

Exterior didn't look too exciting but once we got inside it was fine. Rustic but pleasant. Room was a bit small, hence no chairs, but the beds were very comfortable. Generally nice and clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. Would stay there again.

What was lacking in the room was decent lighting: a single, low-powered LED filament bulb was completely inadequate if you wanted to sit and read. Although breakfast choices were very good, service was slow on both mornings. All in all, rather pricey for the accommodation & service provided.

Booked 2 nights in a super king room. Bedroom was lovely and bed one of the comfiest we have slept in with lovely pillows. Only disappointment was the bathroom which was a little tired and didn’t have a shower head of any kind. Breakfasts were delicious and plenty of food. Ate in the restaurant one night and food was very good. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely return

Stayed 1 night and had an evening meal in the pub , the fish abd chips was very good. However, the menu was quite small. Room was large and bathroom adequate, although if you had mobility issues the shower would be difficult as have to step up into it. Great for a 1 night stop.

The property is a beautifully restored old coaching inn. It was decorated very tastefully for Christmas. Sam and all his staff were friendly attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and service excellent. I would highly recommend. We stayed in the Church suite and it was spacious and again tastefully decorated with lots of extras.

A lovely relaxing stay at a lovely Inn. In a quiet and peaceful village. The Inn itself was beautiful and the rooms clean and spacious. The food was great. I would like to thank Sam and he’s team who went above and beyond to accommodate us when we decided to stay an extra night. A wonderful and attentive team of people.

This beautiful hotel was one of our most surprising finds. The welcome we got from Talia was so good. There was a small issue with our reservation, but the team got everything sorted out within five minutes. The food was some of the best pub food I've had. The puddings were utterly delicious!
This beautiful hotel was one of our most surprising finds. The welcome we got from Talia was so good. There was a small issue with our reservation, but the team got everything sorted out within five minutes. The food was some of the best pub food I've had. The puddings were utterly delicious!

A unique property , loved the castle , moat and church in the local village. The hotel was warm , welcoming and authentic , offering great value for money , good food and wonderful staff .. highly recommend .. really well situated for our visit to Longleat the following day … great dining experience as well and breakfast was 1st class

History on the doorstep with the rained castle. Complete with moat. Lovely pretty small village. Not an extensive menu. Very tasty and well cooked food. Very attentive service. Seating inside and outside by the stream. We had the basic twin bedded room. Which was as the room suggests basic. Very clean and comfortable bed.

The hotel was booked for a couple of nights stay, it was a lovely quiet location with the garden beside a brook running through the village. The room was at the back of the hotel was very quiet aswell, the only concern was the shower cubicle was a bit small, but to be fair couldn't be any larger in the room. The food was very good and reasonably priced, the breakfast was also very good-quite large. On our experience we would definitely recommend, the superb weather helped considerably, ample parking also.

All of the above plus convenient parking. Lovely pub garden and also seating space by the river opposite the front. Lovely village. Felt the worn mattress should be replaced. A weird dip in the floor and some plusher carpet. A bigger TV would make viewing from the bed easier. Nice bathroom that looks recent.

We spent two very comfortable nights with a modern room and bath, nice breakfasts, and one nice dinner. The inn is in a tiny village with a picturesque ruined castle and church nearby, close to Stourhead and Longleat.

Room was very clean and comfortable but meal was a bit disappointing. Ingredients left out if one dish and two other meals could have been hotter. Music from the kitchen was loud later while they were clearing up and our rooms were just above kitchen. First morning breakfast very good but second was yet again cold. Such a shame

A very pleasant village pub, in an interesting and historic village. The room, on the top floor, was spacious, with a decent bathroom. What was lacking in the room was decent lighting: a single, low-powered LED filament bulb was completely inadequate if you wanted to sit and read. Although breakfast choices were very good, service was slow on both mornings. All in all, rather pricey for the accommodation & service provided.

Good country pub accommodation. Access to upstairs rooms via narrow steep stairs so might be a challenge for some. Staff were great. Excellent food in the restaurant for dinner and a hearty breakfast is provided.

Stayed 1 night and had an evening meal in the pub , the fish abd chips was very good. However, the menu was quite small. Room was large and bathroom adequate, although if you had mobility issues the shower would be difficult as have to step up into it. Great for a 1 night stop.

Room was clean. We were unable to stay after we booked in and paid. The weather that day was extremely hot and the room we were allocated was in the top of the building. We told the staff that we could not stay in the room as the heat was extreme and the fan did not help as there was only a tiny window that opened. The member of staff showed us an alternative room but this was still very hot. The member of staff said she would contact admin the next day with regard to a possible refund, to show goodwill but they did not get back to us until we emailed yesterday, saying they would not make any refund. We would not recommend anyone to stay in this Inn.

L’unico vero punto di forza del soggiorno è stata la colazione, davvero ottima, varia e di qualità. Per il resto, pur avendo prenotato una camera economy/basic, non mi aspettavo una sistemazione così piccola. Eravamo in due e la camera era estremamente stretta, con pochissimo spazio a disposizione, tanto da non riuscire nemmeno ad aprire e sistemare le valigie. Inoltre, essendo una mansarda, l’altezza del soffitto variava molto, rendendo gli spazi ancora meno vivibili. Un altro aspetto molto scomodo è stato il bagno privato, che però si trovava fuori dalla camera: ogni volta era necessario uscire dalla stanza per raggiungerlo. Nella descrizione questo dettaglio dovrebbe essere evidenziato in modo molto chiaro. Infine, nel bagno era presente un bagnoschiuma sufficiente per una sola persona, nonostante la prenotazione fosse per due ospiti. Nel complesso ritengo che questa camera sia più adatta a una persona sola che a due. Sarebbe opportuno garantire almeno lo spazio minimo per i bagagli e rendere più chiara la descrizione di come si intende “basic” la tipologia della camera
