The location of this hotel is absolutely amazing. The Crosby beach is only a 10 minute walk and the main street of Waterloo is just 5 minutes away with bars and restaurants a plenty. The Royal Hotel is a lovely place to stay with a restaurant on site. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The rooms are clean and have enough space. You have tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fan to cool you down on hot days as there is no aircon. Rooms are set on 2 floors but there is no lift so maybe not a place to stay if you are disabled. We had a meal on our first night and the food was delightful and cooked to perfection. The price of the meal was affordable and the service by the waitress was excellent. They have a bar there that can seat plenty of customers and once again the bar staff are very helpful and cheerful. I will definitely be staying here again in the future and would advise anyone heading to this area to do the same. Thank you to all the staff at the Royal it was a pleasure to stay at your lovely hotel.

Nice stay with good surroundings and service. Cannot give a review of the restaurant as its closed for two weeks at the beginning of the year. Breakfast very good and certainly sets you up for the day. We wi be returning again

The hotel is nice enough. The bar is a little dated. Bed was comfortable. There is a bullet hole in the bathroom window (yes, really). The bathroom was down some perillous stairs. All in all this is a comfortable hotel.

Only stayed for 2 nights, but we enjoyed our visit. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is limited parking on site but there seemed to be plenty of street parking available.

Its a lovely clean well decorated hotel , the staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and the breakfast option were very good.. I know its an old and historic hotel and because of this I am not sure if its a listed building but it really could do with a lift for the disabled/people with balance issue.

We have used this hotel many times. Good facilities and brilliant value for money. Breakfast cooked to order and food very good. Handy for the train into Liverpool. Will come back soon.

Very nice friendly hotel. All the staff were really helpful and the well decorated bedroom had a comfy bed and pillows. Nice clean bathroom and the breakfast was first rate, so would definitely stay at the Royal again.

Nice Hotel in a good area near the beach. It was very clean and comfortable with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. I would definately stay again especially if I could take my dog with me :-)

The room was clean enough and the bed ok. No air conditioning. No lift (or help with luggage). They mention this in the email after booking but don’t mention the 6 sets of heavy doors you have to walk through. People with long hair beware - it’s a 1970s style keep your thumb pressed down travel hairdryer - I contacted reception to get a real one and was told that their sole good one had gone missing. Took nearly 90 mins to dry my hair. Not fun. Unless you have to be in Waterloo early the next day, there are much better options in the city centre.

Had a great welcome and checked in without issue.. free hassle free car parking.. Room very clean.. the bed was a bit too soft..but the room was peaceful.. didn’t hear too much noice from other guesses . Would stay again.

The hotel may not be classed as a 3 star but everything else about the hotel was definitely was and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Also a mention for James for going over and above to help. The area of Waterloo has some interesting history and sights 😀

Accommodation was great and whilst a little way out of the city it was easy to get around. Plenty of choices in and around the hotel. Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. Helped out very well with a check in issue. Particularly the helpful lady in the breakfast restaurant, very helpful and informative. Only thing missing a fridge in the room which seems to be the norm in UK

Beautiful people, great service, always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic, many options & happy to make changes. The room although upstairs had a great outlook, was quiet and comfortable, staff assisted with baggage.Hotel in a great location close to some fantastic restaurants, train, bus.

Lovely hotel and lovely situation for easy to reach walks and restaurants. My only criticism is that staff in the hotel, most of who were young enough to be my children or grandchildren, repeatedly called my husband and I ‘honeys’ or ‘guys’. These terms of endearment or colloquial slang are not appropriate when speaking to guests and especially those older than you. I would have much preferred being called Mr and Mrs or sir and madam.

Nice hotel across from Crosby beach and 20 minutes walk from the Anthony Gormley statues . Really friendly staff at reception, breakfast and housekeeping Clean comfortable rooms mine was overlooking the front of the hotel. There are pull down mesh screens over the windows due to sand flies . The safe in the room has a £10 refundable charge. Train station is nearby and bus stops into Liverpool 10 minutes walk away. Takes about 45 minutes into city centre n the 53 bus.

If you are going to visit Liverpool for a day or two, this is the perfect place to stay. Very nice rooms, a seven minute walk to the train station that takes you right to Liverpool city center, and a great breakfast. Much less expensive than staying in the city and has plenty of parking.

We stayed over a weekend and throughly enjoyed our stay. Very handy for the station into Liverpool and a lovely walk away from the beach and the Antony Gormley statues on Crosby Beach. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed over a weekend and throughly enjoyed our stay. Very handy for the station into Liverpool and a lovely walk away from the beach and the Antony Gormley statues on Crosby Beach. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were fantastic and accommodating. The hotel is unique but right on the water, along with South Road having loads of restaurants and pubs right around the corner. Also its proximity to Mersey Rail and 20min ride into city center in Liverpool is great.

Beautiful people, great service, always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic, many options & happy to make changes. The room although upstairs had a great outlook, was quiet and comfortable, staff assisted with baggage.Hotel in a great location close to some fantastic restaurants, train, bus.

This property is in a strategically wonderful location. By the beach and south road with tons of restaurants and pubs if you feel like sticking around the hotel. It’s also 8mins walk from Waterloo Station which can get you into Liverpool City Center in 20mins. All around great place to stay with an amazing breakfast menu and great staff

Comfortable hotel in pleasant location. Short train ride into town. Trains every 15 mins. Lovely walks around lagoons and Gormeley statues on the beach. Better than staying in the city. Only downside was the bed on the soft side for me. Otherwise all good including breakfast.

The location of this hotel is absolutely amazing. The Crosby beach is only a 10 minute walk and the main street of Waterloo is just 5 minutes away with bars and restaurants a plenty. The Royal Hotel is a lovely place to stay with a restaurant on site. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The rooms are clean and have enough space. You have tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fan to cool you down on hot days as there is no aircon. Rooms are set on 2 floors but there is no lift so maybe not a place to stay if you are disabled. We had a meal on our first night and the food was delightful and cooked to perfection. The price of the meal was affordable and the service by the waitress was excellent. They have a bar there that can seat plenty of customers and once again the bar staff are very helpful and cheerful. I will definitely be staying here again in the future and would advise anyone heading to this area to do the same. Thank you to all the staff at the Royal it was a pleasure to stay at your lovely hotel.

This clean and comfortable hotel has a great location for just popping for a walk. The food is fantastic, the breakfast is exceptional. What makes it so good though is the staff. All of them have huge smiles and are really friendly and helpful.

The location is superb but we were impressed at how friendly and engaging the staff were. No one we encountered had anything but a smile and friendly engagement. Absolutely awesome. The room was clean, bed super comfortable and breakfast second to none. Would not hesitate to rebook.

Situated in a quiet location, overlooking a park and water and a short 8 minutes walk from the station. An excellent value and good quality breakfast. Rooms are reasonably priced. Parking available on site. Liverpool city centre is only 20 minutes by train running regularly all day and late into the evening. Staff were all polite, helpful and prompt when dealing with any queries.
