Yankee Clipper Inn

Nicht zum ersten mal waren wir im Yankee Clipper Inn. Phantastisch die Lage am Atlantik, das Frühstück auf de terasse, das gepflegte Ambiente! ABER: Kein kofferservice- und das bei vielen stufen ohne lift.Zimmerservice extrem reduziert, bei kürzerem Aufenthalt wird das Zimmer nicht gemacht. Und das bei einem auch für USA recht ansehnlichen Preis!

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Yankee Clipper Inn. We stayed in the Quarterdeck Inn that’s next to the larger Inn. Our room overlooked the ocean. It felt like we were on a cruise ship - it looked that close. The room was spacious with a really nice sitting area where you can view the ocean. The room was clean, comfortable with a small but updated bathroom. The Inn was very quiet and well maintained. Parking is close but keep in mind you have a manage down a granite stairway to get to the Inn. Each morning we walked over to the Yankee Clipper for breakfast. The staff there were amazing. Super friendly, and can handle anything you need. Mike at the front desk (I assume is the owner or manager) Is great. The made to order breakfasts were delicious. The grounds are breathtaking - walkways, patios, cliffs, sunrise views - all beautiful. We loved every minute there. The area around the Inns are so much fun - its about a 15 min walk (or a 3 min drive) to the main town but well worth it and easier than I expected. The town has tons of shops, a couple beaches and many restaurants to check out. The city of Gloucester is just a few mins drive and worth the visit. Be sure to drive up Halibut Point State Park while you’re in Rockport. I am usually ready to head home after a vacation week - but I wished we could have stayed longer!

The view from all areas was stunning. I stayed in the quarter deck and it was perfect. It wasn’t a hard walk over to the big house for breakfast and evening drinks.

Staff was very friendly. narrow steep stairs could be difficult for some people, and needs a bar in shower to hold onto.

This is a beautiful property. Well maintained and safe. Beautiful ocean views

Our stay at the Yankee Clipper about 2 weeks before Christmas was awesome. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean, only one thing, the room was on the 3rd floor, which was hard for me because I don’t do stairs well. Next time I’ll ask for the 2nd floor. I would definitely recommend going to Bearskin Neck during the holidays, there were horse drawn carriages, carollers and many little shops. We had a lot fun, will be coming back, for sure

The accommodations were very comfortable with an outdoor seating area. We will stay longer next time. It was also nice to have fresh breakfast with a beautiful view.

In general, my wife and I were very pleased with our stay at the Yankee Clipper Inn. We had a lovely room in the Quarterdeck House with a fine view of the ocean through a large window. All the rooms in the inn seem to be different. Ours had no balcony, others did. We had an ocean view, others didn't. The air conditioning in our room worked very well, thankfully. One of the days we were there was beastly hot and the A/C was a life saver.The included breakfasts in the main building were very nice. There is one concern that should be addressed however. My wife and I are elderly but not handicapped. A handicapped person would have a very difficult time staying in the Quarterdeck House. To get to the house you must walk down what I thought was a rather steep set of stairs and then a steep pathway down to the entrance. The real problem was in order to get into the main part of the inn for breakfast, for example, you could not cross over the expansive lawn. There is another house not owned by the inn between the two buildings of the inn and you are not allowed to walk across that lawn. That means that to go to breakfast from the Quarterdeck house to the Yankee Clipper, you have to walk up a steep pathway and then up steep stone stairs, then walk along the road and then down a long steep driveway.It was tough enough for us; I don't know how a handicapped person could manage all that. That said, we still had a good time. My advice is choose your room carefully.

Mike and the staff at The Yankee Clipper are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast is wonderful and served in the dining room that looks out at the water. The grounds are lovely and many rooms have a deck to enjoy the view.

We love the place. We would definitely come back. The water from the shower took a while before it warmed up. (Getting picky…the rug could be replaced….) The staff were awesome! Their breakfast was great! I would give it a 4.9!!! It is not ADA accessible, but that was in the information regarding the facility.

Something that was said at the desk made me believe we were given one of the worst rooms due to booking with a third party. Tiny room divided bath with tiny shower with hard to use faucet that made it easy to burn yourself. Place felt and looked dusty. Loved the setting view and food service and most of the staff except grumpy manager.

The Yankee Clipper Inn provided an excellent weekend away. The staff were friendly, kind and attentive. The inn was beautiful, spotlessly clean and comfortable. It's location is ideal. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning!!

Beautiful, clean, comfortable and love the staff…. Was there a welcome gift? We came super late only downfall was we wish we had more time there

We paid for an ocean front property as advertised. We were very disappointed when we arrived we were told there are no rooms available on any of the ocean front properties and they nonchalantly put us in a very old run down house across the street right on the street with a dumpster view. The window blinds were broken or just fixed down so they were down all the time making the room even darker. I was so embarrassed as I had invited my friend and she even said the mattresses were so old and sagging and even the bed linens were very old. We did not take showers and checked out the next morning. I wish it was more transparent online. I don’t give negative reviews but I thought I would have liked to know about these before booking.

Room was small. Self serve house cleaning. Staff was personable and helpful. Property is ‘tired’ - need upgrading.

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Yankee Clipper. The Inn is beautiful, and the location stunning. The property has obviously been meticulously maintained and updated. And to top it off there is a delicious made-to-order breakfast every morning. We highly recommend this beautiful Inn!

The setting is lovely! The room was clean and there were plenty of needed supplies. Breakfast was yummy and staff could not have been kinder. Can’t wait to come back!

Very disappointing trip here at the Yankee Clipper inn - Although we supposedly received an upgraded room - it was tiny with a foul odor with an even tinier bathroom. The room was not that clean and the noise coming from the upstairs room all night was unbearable- the breakfast was good and our server Claire was lovely. The hotel was certainly not worth the $300 a night we paid for it - we would not return

We had a wonderful stay at the Yankee Clipper Inn. The location is amazing. The building is full of charm. The breakfast is fantastic. And the hospitality by from the manager Mike can't be beat. We stayed across the street at the Bull Finch house and still had an amazing view. We walked to town (about 1.25 miles). You get beautiful views and close ups of some very nice homes. We will definitely go back.

The view of the ocean from the room was spectacular, and the staff particularly Cameron and Allison were so helpful and friendly! The room was spacious and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the inn.

Lovely room on 2nd floor overlooking the ocean and rocky coast. A spacious deck adjoins the room with table and chairs. Breakfasts are hot and cooked to order. There is a short drive to picturesque Rockport center with its great Shalin-Liu Performance center, art center, and harbor. Service and staff couldn't be better.

When we first entered our room, i gasped at the beautiful view. A full length window overlooking the rocks and ocean, what could be better. We stayed in the Quarterback Section. The actual inn itself is historic and well designed with cared for and inviting antique furniture. The breakfast was super good. Great choice of freshly prepared hot options including a fresh fruit yogurt parfait. The expansive lawn seating overlooking the vista made me not want to leave the property. It was great having a pool too, The staff were wonderful and we enjoyed talking with them. I will definitely go back next time and stay a few more days too.

It was super great location for my birding trip. I haven’t met anyone from stuff, key from my room was left at the desk when I arrived and I left it there when I was leaving. Breakfast was included in my stay but time of it was incredibly inconvenient- 8:30 till 10. I was leaving my room before 7 all four days I stayed there. No microwave in room, but coffee maker was there, thank goodness.

Great stay at the Yankee Clipper Inn. Such a cute hotel which is beautifully designed and kept. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel. I think our server’s name was Claire and she was an absolute doll. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel has a very good location! It's private to have a beautifull view in the garden to the village & you can walk to the center! We really loved the breakfast in the veranda and were helped by the most sweet host Pamm. The pancakes were really amazing, as was the chef for telling us his preparation method. :-D

The beauty of the location and the views from the rooms are excellent. Mike, Cassandra and the Chef are attentive and the made to order breakfast gets the day off to a fine start. A combination of the.accommodations and lovely town made for a great weekend adventure

The Inn was just beautiful, located on the water. An added bonus was the fresh hot "made to order" breakfast available each morning.

We loved this Inn and luckily were able to extend another day. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Lovely view by the water. Breakfasts were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. We would definitely come back!
