When we checked in and went to our room on the 4th floor, we had to go back down as the key cards didn’t work. One of two elevators was not working so the wait for the elevator was a little long. The double room was great for a family. Room for the 4 year old to play. Found a yo-yo and a price tag on the floor in the room, but otherwise looked clean. The breakfast was decent and had a few different choices on the two mornings we were there.

The shower was never more than slightly warm the 5 nights we stayed. The gym didn’t have full sets of dumbbells and sometimes the water wasn’t stocked. The breakfast was good there. The hotel had quite a bit of wear and tear. It was fine for the price but would never stay again.

Good points… staff was friendly. Pool was refreshing … breakfast was great. Not so good points. I was there for 10 days and the same pieces of garbage and dirty towels were in the same places the entire time. No one cleans the area. There are no umbrellas and no shade in the pool area. Pool deck is really dirty and constantly covered in tree sticks etc hitch also go into the pool. I would’ve swept it myself to walk easier if there was access to a broom. I cleaned handfuls of things out of the pool constantly.. wouldve cleaned it as well if there was access to a pool net. My only room request was a tub so I could soak my back before bed (I have a bad back & the heat helps) and I got a roll in shower. Housekeeping will come if you call and request them , but only if they aren’t already busy.. and after about dinner time there’s no hotel assistance available. I requested an extra blanket but was told I had to come get it. I asked about room service but had to go back down to the lobby to get the menu. I confirmed I could order from my room but when I got back up and called I was told I had to come back down to order. The elevator is extremely slow and only one of 2 works. HDMI outlets didn’t work on tv. Very basic necessities met. Wasn’t ideal for travellers alone or anyone with small kids that you’d need to constantly bring with you to the lobby whenever you need something. Probably wouldn’t stay there again unfortunately.

The gym has 2 treadmills which we’re both out of order. The leather bench was ripped. You can tell nobody takes care of the gym. They want to charge an early check in fee of $30.00 which is bad business practice. If the room is ready, then check people in. They have a Starbucks, but no staff that know how to do the coffee. The Front desk agent didn’t even acknowledge we were there. Nobody told us we had to request for the room to be cleaned, otherwise nobody cleans it.

Therefore, to go from the 6th floor to the lobby can take 5 to 10 minutes. When going from #6 to #1 the elevator stops at almost every floor to collect more passengers and it becomes rather crowded at times. If elevator #2 stops working visitors will need to climb the stairs up and down several times a day. If that should occur Hyatt Place will lose a lot of customers because most people are not able to climb the stairs with luggage The housekeeping staff uses the only operating elevator with their equipment and there is no room for them on occasions.

I wish I could submit pictures. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The carpet was barely vacuumed, and the walls were damaged but they made an attempt to repair them. There was dried blood on my comforter, and mold on my ceiling. I will NOT be staying at this brand of hotel ever again and we have a very large company and I’ll push to have no one stay here anymore. We had a work meeting that was held at this location. I’m not the only one who had these issues. There were others who had little to no hot water and bugs in their room. I was honestly worried about bed bugs and I had to position my belongings on areas that would have the least potential of infestation - if that room had it. Not saying it had them, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if at least one room had them in that place. I’m disgusted.

The property itself was very nice & clean. Super convenient for our events that weekend. However, every morning, the water pressure in our room was AWFUL. In a 10 min shower, it turned off 4-5 times for at least 45sec-1min each time…& it didn’t trickle, it went completely out. Then came back on freezing cold. It was annoying & not enjoyable. A hotel that size should not have a water pressure issue to that extreme.

This hotel is in serious need of a remodel. The room gave me an ick feeling due to the yellowing curtains, outdated furniture and the room had a smell of feet and canned soup. The air worked but didn’t actually cool the room properly, and when it kicked on this is when I smelled CAN soup. I guess the previous person didn’t take his bag of trail mix and water that the hotel left as a welcome gift. The letter was written to him. The shower poured water on the floor due to the poor design which also made it difficult to enter the shower due the bathroom door opening in the way of the shower entrance. Those yellowing curtains were bad!

We have stayed in this hotel every year for years when we come to watch the state volleyball tournament and have always been able to give it 5 stars. This year we were a little disappointed. The room coffee pot was malfunctioning. The mattress had a bad sag and needs replaced. The “hot” breakfast was lukewarm.

30 families from out water polo team stayed their for Junior Olympics. Rooms were very large and easily slept 5-6. Breakfast each morning was very good. Parking was easy and the hotel is located near restaurants, groceries and entertainment. I would highly recommend this hotel to a large group!

Nice property, very clean, friendly staff, however, the hot water in our room was not working. I called front desk and told them and they said they would send maintenance up to fix AND they offered to move us, but we we were only staying two nights and were on the go, so we elected to have maintenance repair. We returned very late that next morning of day 2 and it still wasn’t fixed. We endured it because we had to get up 5 hours later arriving back prior to check out at 6 this morning. Otherwise, room was nice and clean and I liked the layout. I would suggest that the TV remote control be updated. Ours was something from like the 90s. They offered a very good continental breakfast. I would stay here again, just need the hot water working.

Staff was super friendly at check in. Friendly all weekend. Breakfast was great and had a lot of options. I ALWAYS choose hotels with breakfast, its that important to me. Staff handled multiple events and the hotel guests with ease. The biggest takeaway....staff liked working there and were happy which translated to a great experience for me.

My granddaughter and her family were not allowed to even check in because the name on the booking credit card was not not her name. I booked through Travelocity using my card. The clerk was very rude. Also, when i tried to call the hotel directly to confirm and arrange late arrival no one answered the phone. That wa about 6:30 pm. I tried to reach them 4 times in about 30 minutes. It appears to me Hyatt Place Dallas/Garland has no customer service! I will try to get my money back.

This is a great property. We’ve stayed here during family visits, corporate events and weekend getaways and it never disappoints. Gloria at the front desk was especially helpful and the staff are always pleasant and friendly. We’ll always stay here when we’re in this part of town.

We had a birthday sleepover for 13-year-olds here in May. Here is my honest review. Cons: Could not reserve connecting rooms and didn't get them (did at least get side by side). Breakfast was meh. They didn't have a waffle maker, just the limp freezer waffles. They didn't even have salsa for the eggs (hello, this is Texas). Pros: There was a nice eating area where we were able to eat pizza for dinner. We had the pool mostly to ourselves. There is a nice wet/dry area where you can dry off before going back into the rest of the hotel. Rooms were clean and staff was nice. Overall, a nice experience for what we needed.

We have stayed in this hotel every year for years when we come to watch the state volleyball tournament and have always been able to give it 5 stars. This year we were a little disappointed. The room coffee pot was malfunctioning. The mattress had a bad sag and needs replaced. The “hot” breakfast was lukewarm.

30 families from out water polo team stayed their for Junior Olympics. Rooms were very large and easily slept 5-6. Breakfast each morning was very good. Parking was easy and the hotel is located near restaurants, groceries and entertainment. I would highly recommend this hotel to a large group!

This hotel has new owners and therefore the bar has been taken out. According to the manager, the liquor license hasn't been approved. Unfortunately, the Hotels.com still shows the bar as an amenity. Breakfasts were delicious especially since a microwave is available to heat the food.

Semi clean. Minimal amenities. Mostly empty roll of TP in room on entrance with no spares anywhere😳 Pretty run down handicap accessible room we didn’t request. Housekeeping came after one night but didn’t touch the shower/bath (obvious from the bath mat still half even as we left it). Took away one roll of TP we had to get after request at front desk upon supposed cleaning🤔 Dresser drawers? in kitchenette area didn’t close. Ottoman was shredded and torn from maybe past animal stay. Not sure would stay again🙈

Had a wonderful stay, staff was very friendly, breakfast items were great and easy access to a lot of local things!! Wasn’t a big fan of the towing of cars if there wasn’t a plaque in the vehicle! We had visitors but went and got an additional plaque but saw some others being towed away!! Other than that a great place to stay!
