Ben Chifley Motor Inn

The property is well-maintained, with clean rooms and friendly staff. My only concern is parking — each guest should have a dedicated parking spot corresponding to their room booking.

The parking is not allocated to rooms. Just park where you can find a spot. Hand basin had not been cleaned properly. No bench or towel rails in bathroom. Most expensive motel in our 3 weeks of travel. The bedroom was the best, well appointed.

Booked queen, got double. Tiny tiny room (23). Requested back room due to road noise, got it. Clean. Good shower & nice shower gel. Netflix bonus. Pool clean and nice to cool off in. Stayed one night on road trip.

A good place to stay overnight. The room was large and clean with a comfortable bed, pretty much all that was required. Parking available outside the door. The pub nearby was a good option for eating.

Not enough parking spaces close to rooms. The key return box is not low enough for short people.

Stayed here for 1 night. Position of motel is good, with not much traffic noise. Parking on the other hand is a different story. We could not get parking outside our unit due to an inconsiderate driver taking up two parking spots. This made it extremely difficult to get a park when arriving back at motel around 9pm.

Room stinks from drains in bathroom. Not fit for occupancy- no way housekeeping staff would not be aware of this issue. Very limited parking.

Place was not clean and had an old smoke-like odour. Food in the chairs, a single wipe across the bench came up black, toilet had unflushed paper, previous guest's bathroom bottles on top of shower, microwave knob had something sticky on it. That's the bad. The good was towels and linen were clean, air con worked, place was quiet and hosts were friendly. I paid for a queen room as I dislike those two singles pushed together as a "king", but I got King anyway. I've cancelled my stay on the return leg of my drive and won't stay again. Again, friendly staff. Just cleanliness was poor enough that I'm a bit grossed out.

Lots of space in the family room, over all cleanliness was average found a ball of hair under the bathroom basin. Staff were friendly and welcoming

We stayed three nights and found the Ben Chifley Motor Inn to be excellent. The room was perfectly clean and reasonably modern, the bathroom fine and the shower excellent. Our room was toward the back of the complex and was very quiet, front rooms may get some noise from the traffic. The Dudley Hotel just down the road serves excellent meals; other restaurants or pubs/clubs are a bit of a walk away. Be aware that there is a rather excessive 2.75% credit card surcharge when paying direct to the property.

Clean rooms

Bathroom smelled really bad like a leaking septic pipe. Had to keep the door closed because the smell invaded the bedroom. Shower was luke warm despite waiting 10 minutes for the hot water to become hot. Something's not right at this place, no staff on premises and higher price point than better motels.

Comfortable enough but the hot water to an extremely long time to come through the shower. Once it did it was fine, just took a long time.

We have stayed here before, they are good sized rooms however like a lot of motels the bedside lamps and lack of PowerPoints can be an issue.

The room was very good value but the shower dripped and the heating was poor. Reverse cycle heater needs replacing

Building is a little dated but quite comfortable and gets the job done.

No bedside light! Nearest switch 6 ft away……..so no reading in bed. Pity. Getting up to visit the bathroom during the night……….tricky. TV ……..you have to fix that! Awful.

Great little room and exceptional communication from staff. Only downside is the how loud the traffic is overnight, but there's little the hotel can do about that.

On check in staff were professional, helpful with suggestions and directions, very welcoming.

Didn't like that all interaction was indirect i.e. that there was nobody in Reception, even during 'usual' checking times.

My parents stayed here while visiting us in Bathurst during winter. I had checked online that they listed electric blankets before I booked, but apparently the new owners got rid of them when they took over. The heater did not work the first night and the bathroom has a section of mesh above the window which is open to the elements. A bitterly cold environment for two elderly people. The room was not serviced on Sunday and when they called to ask for fresh towels, they were told it would be $50 to get them. Not happy! 😡😡😡

Effortless check-in, friendly and polite staff.

Pros: - When a 2 inch arc of electricity erupted from a powerpoint on our first night, as we plugged in the room heater because the air con for whatever reason was only outputting cold air (why it wasnt set to heat in winter, and checked, was anyones guess, we couldnt have been the forts people there this winter...), and made me get instantly straight with Jesus because i thought i was going to die, while we had no electricity for about 2 hours and went to bed in misery and freezing, at least a text at 10:30 at night DID get a reply and a fix hours later. Genuinely appreciated someone attending to the lack of electricity at midnight, especially as my partner had a job interview the next morning in Dubbo and needed to iron her dress to be ready to go at the crack of dawn the next morning. - Cant argue the room layout of the triple room, and the general presentation of the room - Great shower water pressure and temperature Cons: - Felt i was going to die from faulty powerpoint about 15 minutes after getting there, not a great start :) - Room not serviced properly: when we left the please tidy my room sign the next morning and headed for Dubbo. Beds were (re)made and towels changed, but the dishes we rinsed and left to obviously be changed were still there up;on our return at 8:15PM that nigth, after a long day, and just wanting to crash and have a relaxing night (this is why you book a motel/hotel). Bins also untouched. - TV where even changing volume was a task.......

It was such a nice room and the gentleman in Reception was so nice. When we returned in the late evenings, our heating was turned on for comfort and fresh towels everyday. It was so lovely. I would definitely stay again and recommend them to everyone.

We stayed in Bathurst for rd 3 WJL Basketball & the motel is convenient to the stadium. The room was quiet small but very clean & tidy.. The traffic was unbearable on the friday night, so loud & constant, we had room 9 which was the closest to the road. Would probably find a quieter spot next visit.. many thanks

Only thing we found the.. traffic noise, trucks etc were loud, very busy road. Garage next door, handy for fresh milk etc, the pub 5 min walk away had a really nice bistro, good and surrounds. Old bar at front lovely and people friendly. There is a pizza place across the road but closed Monday.

Nice quiet property with a couple of eating options that are walk able, otherwise your only 3 minutes from the centre of town
