We had a very nice time at The Sycamore Guest House. The room was very clean, staff , the owner was 100% helpful & very nice and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast was very nice & hot. Our room could do with some TLC. Bathroom was small but we’re average height so no problem for us. Sycamore Guest House is perfectly placed at the edge of the city to walk into the centre & only 5 minutes away from the Railway Station. Quiet location. If we go back to York we would not hesitate to book here again.

Rooms where clean and well stocked . Owner was brilliant, nothing to much for him to do . Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Beds where very comfy.

Seven minute walk from the train station. Seven minute walk to downtown this bed-and-breakfast is in a neighborhood very safe. The owner is incredibly nice. If you like a bed-and-breakfast experience, you’ll love this. The only problem we had was the showerhead wasn’t working, but the hands sprayer worked just fine.

I would highly recommend this traditional family run guest house. A lovely welcome from Spyros. He explained everything in terms of the amenities of the property with the sence of pride on his face. After settling into our room we set off for the day, before leaving Spyros took us through the highlights of York and gave us brochures and Maps to assist with our itinerary. In the morning we were given a choice of a Continental or a lovely all you can eat English breakfast. The service from Natalie and Kaldydira was exceptional… all of the family couldn’t do enough us to ensure a comfortable stay. The personal touch makes a real difference! All this in a very short distance from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the city centre.

The hotel is really well located to the railway station by using the bridge crossing available directly from inside the station. Room 5 was on the small side, but warm and comfortable. Shower was small but good hot water pressure. The included breakfast was the star of the show. Delicious. Spies was accommodating and a great personality. Lovely quiet area.
